    Rei Hayama/Reddle (I)

Rei Hayama/Reddle (I)

Portrayed by: Reina Hazuki

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rei_hayama_ep2.jpg
A 22 year old animal instructor at the Earth Academia's aquarium. The first Reddle. Leaves halfway through to go to South America.
  • Friend to All Living Things: Cares for all living things, even insects.
  • Red Is Heroic: Her B-Fighter form is colored red, and she's a heroine fighting to save the planet from the Jamahl.
  • Put on a Bus: Leaves in between episodes 21 and 22 to do animal research in South America. In real life, this was caused by her actress getting injured during the filming of episode 14, leading her to do fewer appearances in episodes until she eventually dropped out.
  • Scarf of Asskicking: Wears a scarf around her neck starting from episode 16. This was actually to cover up injuries her actress suffered in real life (see above).
  • The Spock: She's the coolest member of the team.

    Mai Takatori/Reddle (II)

Mai Takatori

Portrayed by: Chigusa Tomoe

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mai_takatori_ep22.jpg
A 19 year old Earth Academia student and nature lover chosen to be the next Reddle.
  • Hotter and Sexier: Much cuter than Rei, shows more leg, has a few panty shots and even has a bikini episode.
  • Suspiciously Similar Substitute: Averted. While she replaces Rei, she's much more outwardly cheery and energetic than her warm, but cool predecessor.

Allies

    Kenzo Mukai

Kenzo Mukai/Mukaider K3

Portrayed by: Takashi Sasano

The head professor at the Earth Academia's Japan branch. Along with Takuya, he created the Powered Armor suits that would later become the Insect Armors.
  • Big Good: Split with Guru, but he's the one who gave the team their suits and acts as their benefactor.
  • Hidden Badass: At first glance, Mukai appears to be quite bookish, without any combat prowess. However, he did save the day once, when the B-Fighters were rendered powerless by a Monster of the Week that was specifically made to counter insects. To combat this threat, Mukai dons a prototype Powered Armor, without insect powers, so the monster couldn't affect it. With this armor, he managed to beat back the monster, save the scientist who could counter the monster's ability.
  • Powered Armor: As mentioned above, he wore a suit of Powered Armor during one episode, that was powerful enough to hold its own against a Monster of the Week.
  • Punny Name: His Powered Armor is named Mukaider K3. This is a combination between his own name and Kikaider, which was a popular tokusatsu series in the 1970s.

    Guru

Sage Guru

Portrayed by: Yasuo Tanaka (voice)

The elder of all insects on earth. He empowered the suits that Takuya and Mukai created with insect powers, turning them into Insect Armor.
  • Big Good: Split with Kenzo, he gave the team their insect powers and occasionally gives them guidance.
  • Hermit Guru: Lives in a cave in the Amazon rain forest.
  • Mentor Mascot: He looks like a combination between a Furby and a Japanese rhinoceros beetle.

    Kabuto

Extradimensional Supplier Kabuto

Portrayed by: Takahiro Yoshimizu (voice)

Guru's son who works as a weapons and equipment supplier.

Jamahl

    In General
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jamahl_ep1.jpg
An army of invaders from another dimension who seek to conquer our world and enslave humanity.
  • Contrasting Sequel Antagonist: The Space Mafia from Blue SWAT were a group of alien bodyjackers launching a covert invasion of Earth. The Jamahl are an army of interdimensional beings who invade out in the open. The Space Mafia's inner hierarchy was also secretive for most of the show, while Gaohm and his executives are present from the first episode. The Space Mafia also got less effective and more inept around midway through, while the Jamahl get more dangerous as the series goes on.
  • Maker of Monsters: Both Schwartz and Gigaro create the monsters in their Armies.
  • Monster of the Week: The Jamahl is divided into three Armies, the Mercenary Army, the Synthoid-Beast Army and the Combat-Mecha Army, who each take turns putting forth a different warrior to fight the B-Fighters.
  • Standard Evil Organization Squad: Gaohm and his three Army Commanders, later joined by Black Beet.
  • Vile Villain, Laughable Lackey: Gaohm's three Co-Dragons zig-zag between being played seriously and humorously, but Gaohm himself is always shown to be a serious threat.
  • Vile Villain, Saccharine Show: The Jamahl are a nasty set of villains for an otherwise kid-friendly series, particularly Gaohm and Schwartz late into the series. While their executives aren't without comedic moments, they're still a ruthless band of interdimensional conquerors, who even come close to destroying the planet in the final few episodes.

    Gaohm

Emperor Gaohm

Portrayed by: Takeshi Watabe (voice)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gaohm_ep1.jpg
The mysterious ruler of the Jamahl.
  • Bad Boss: Frequently zaps his subordinates and threatens to have them executed for failing him. He gets worse as the show goes on, sacrificing Gigaro and tricking another one of his minions, who he promised to promote, into acting as a suicide bomber.
  • Big Bad: Leader of the Jamahl and the one driving their conquest.
  • Came Back Strong: The B-Fighters think they've destroyed him in episode 18, only for him to suddenly reappear as a massive floating torso in the sky.
  • Dimension Lord: He comes from another dimension, and controls his own pocket world called the Gaohm Zone. And he's looking to add our world to his domain.
  • Final Boss: One of two. He's the last foe the B-Fighters face as a team, but after his defeat Takuya still has one more one-on-one stand-off with Black Beet. In a way though he's this twice over, as his spirit is among those who fuse with Jagul in the epilogue to make her go One-Winged Angel.
  • Immortality Immorality: His plans to obtain immortality involved destroying the Earth and sacrificing his own subordinates.
  • Light Is Not Good: He's white and bright gold in appearance, but has a black heart.
  • The Man Behind the Curtain: His true form isn't his human-sized first appearance, nor is it a giant floating torso, but an embryo-like being in a tank full of liquid. It's downplayed however as he can still telepathically zap people with lightning bolts.
  • Motive Decay: B-Fighter Kabuto reveals that he was originally created to carry on the Will of Darkness’s goal of crushing the light by conquering everything. His goal in this series shows no hint of this, instead being intent on making himself immortal to stave off his coming death.
  • Omnicidal Maniac: Invoked. See Earth has a guardian spirit called Saint Papilia that appears whenever its been rendered lifeless to undo the damage. Gaohm intends to completely wipe out all life on the planet, all so he can capture Saint Papilia when she appears and use her to obtain immortality.
  • Taking You with Me: After being defeated by the B-Fighters, he transfers the last of his energy to the Jamahl Hole in an effort to take the Earth down with him.
  • Thanatos Gambit: Allows the B-Fighters to slay him in episode 18 so he can absorb their energy and be reborn much stronger.
  • Vile Villain, Saccharine Show: B-Fighter may be Lighter and Softer, but Gaohm is a very cruel being who wouldn't be out of place next to villains from Sentai's early phase.
  • Villainous Legacy: Even after he's defeated, the B-Fighters still have to spend another episode dealing with the Jamahl Hole he made before it causes The End of the World as We Know It. And the post-series epilogue has his last surviving minion, Jagul, resurfacing to take revenge.
    • It continues into B-Fighter Kabuto, where the new Big Bad Mother Melzard is his cousin/sister of sorts, carrying on the will of their ancestors.

    Jera

Mercenary Army Commander Jera

Portrayed by: Keiko Konno (voice), Yuko Ito (suit actor, human disguise) Shelley Sweeney (true appearance)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jera_ep1.jpg
The commander of the Jamahl's Mercenary Army.
  • The Baroness: Jamahl's tough, domineering female commander.
  • Beautiful All Along: Seemingly averted when she's finally seen unmasked and has a rather rough, mannish appearance...but then played straight with her true face, which is much prettier.
  • Dark Action Girl: Is a skilled fighter, able to face Blue Beet one-on-one.
  • Defeat Means Friendship: A good number of the warriors in her Mercenary Army are ones defeated by her who now serve her out of respect.
  • High-Heel–Face Turn: She's the only female executive of the Jamahl, and the only one to find some sort of redemption in the end, using her final moments to tell the B-Fighters how to get onboard the Jamahl Fortress.
  • Screw This, I'm Out of Here!: She deserts the Jamahl not long after Gaohm starts sacrificing his subordinates to create the Jamahl Hole.
  • Token Minority: Her true appearance is a blond-haired, caucasian woman, which certainly counts in a show full of Japanese characters.
  • Villainous Friendship: Ends up forming one with Black Beet after he saves her, vowing to help him get immortality.

    Schwartz

Combat-Robot Commander Schwartz

Portrayed by: Shigeru Chiba (voice)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/schwartz_ep1.jpg
The commander of the Jamahl's Combat-Robot Army.
  • A.I. Is a Crapshoot: Of course, he is an evil robot, but he goes completely crazy in his final episodes.
  • Beware the Silly Ones: He's the most silly of the Jamahl commanders, but that silliness becomes full-blown rapid Ax-Crazy-ness towards the finale.
  • Evil Genius: He's a robotics genius, likely on account of being a robot, and he creates the robots in his army.
  • Fate Worse than Death: Congratulations Schwartz, you're the only survivor of Jamahl. Too bad you're a disembodied head floating in space forever.
  • The McCoy: Unusually for an Evil Genius, he's the most manic and excitable of the three Jamahl execs.
  • Robotic Psychopath: For a robot he's incredibly psychotic and prone to manic outbursts. And he only gets more Ax-Crazy as the series goes on.
  • Sanity Slippage: He was never really sane to begin with, but he goes completely psychotic after being reduced to a head, talking to electronic appliances and planning to start a "mecha empire" with them by squeezing "oil" out of humans.
  • Sinister Shades: His eyes resemble a pair of black Lennon Specs.
  • Off with His Head!: His head gets cut off and blown into space, where it becomes stuck orbiting around Earth.
  • One-Winged Angel: Becomes "Schwartz Tank" (which is literally his head on a tank) to fight the B-Fighters himself.
  • Non-Indicative Name: He's named after the German word for black, but has none in his design, being a silver robot in a white outfit.
  • Villain in a White Suit: Wears a white lab coat and is an evil robot scientist.

    Gigaro

Synthoid-Beast Commander Gigaro

Portrayed by: Toshimichi Takahashi

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gigaro_ep1.jpg
The commander of the Jamahl's Synthoid-Beast Army.
  • The Brute: A tough and no-nonsense warrior who's always eager to square against the B-Fighters.
  • From Nobody to Nightmare: He was once a creature that lived in fear of being hunted, before being found by Gaohm and transformed into a fearsome commander of the Jamahl.
  • Monster Progenitor: He created all the monsters in the Synthoid-Beast Army from his own DNA.
  • One-Winged Angel: Upgrades himself to Final Gigaro for a last battle against the B-Fighters.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Has red eyes and is the fearsome leader of an army of monsters.
  • This Was His True Form: Afer dying, his body goes from his advanced form to his regular form to his former mutant form to a dessicated humanoid skeleton.
  • Torpedo Tits: A Rare Male Example. In his Final form he can shoot fireballs from his breasts.
  • Undying Loyalty: Is completely loyal to Gaohm, although Gaohm isn't as appreciative.
  • Unwitting Pawn: He ends up being sacrificed by Gaohm simply to speed up the creation of the Jamahl hole.

    Shadow/Black Beet

Shadow/Black Beet

Portrayed by: Keisuke Tsuchiya, Shunsuke Sakuya (voice as Black Beet)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/black_beet_ep19.jpg
An evil clone of Blue Beet created by the Jamahl.
  • Dark Is Evil: He's black-armored as Black Beet, and his human identity is literally called "Shadow".
  • The Dragon: He quickly becomes Gaohm's favorite subordinate after joining, much to the displeasure of his previous Co-Dragons.
  • Dragon with an Agenda: After he learns of Gaohm's plans to capture Saint Papilia and become immortal, he begins seeking to capture as well and use her to extend his shortened lifespan.
  • Evil Knockoff: The Black Commander, which is his answer to the B-Fighters' B-Commanders.
  • Evil Twin: Of Blue Beet, being an evil warrior created out of his DNA. He's even played by the twin of Blue Beet's actor!
  • Expy: Hmmm, a black-armored robotic warrior who has a brotherly relationship with The Hero and an obsession with defeating him. Sounds a lot like Hakaider, with dashes of Shadow Moon thrown in given his preference for swords.
  • Rival Final Boss: One of two Final Bosses, although he's more of a Post-Final Boss that's fought after Gaohm is defeated. He kidnaps Saint Papilia and fights Blue Beet one last time while G-Stag and Reddle deal with the still-lingering Jamahl Hole.
  • The Only One Allowed to Defeat You: Towards Blue Beet, as he was created from him and feels something of an existential crisis from it, which he seeks to resolve by killing Blue Beet personally.
  • Wild Card: Late into the series he goes completely rogue from the Jamahl after learning of Saint Papilia and (correctly) guessing that Gaohm will sacrifice all of his subordinates at some point, planning to instead obtain Saint Papilia for himself.
  • You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: Pulls this on his own creator of all people. After he's created he kills Jagul and declares that, now that he's been made, her usefulness is at an end.
  • Your Days Are Numbered: As a clone he has a very short lifespan, and will die within a year unless Saint Papilia gives him immortality.

    Jagul

Sorceress Jagul

Portrayed by: Hisako Kyoda (voice)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jagul_ep19.jpg
An insectoid Jamahl witch who Gaohm summons to create an evil B-Fighter for him.

    Jamars
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jamars_ep1.jpg
The footsoldiers of the Jamahl.
  • Elite Mooks: There are stronger red variants which serve as Gaohm's elite guard.
  • Mooks: The basic grunts of Jamahl.
