The Trio

    Lucy Rose
Voiced by: Alice Ann Stacey
A struggling animator and the main character of the show.
  • Ambiguously Gay: Her ex's gender is intentionally unclear.
  • Animal Lover: She's seen hugging a raccoon and feeding some squirrels acorns in Shell Shock.
  • Badass Adorable: An adorkable tomboy capable of kicking plenty of ass.
  • Body Horror: Played for Laughs in Shell Shock, where her entire body swells up and turns red after she inadvertently walks into poison ivy. Luckily, mosquitoes sucked all the blood from her swells and turned her back to normal, if only with minor bruises.
  • Butch Lesbian: Implied. More masculine and gruff than the Dexter siblings, never shows any attraction to men in the show, and her ex's gender is unclear, although her sexuality is never explicitly stated.
  • Butt-Monkey: She regularly gets into trouble because of Ben's antics.
  • Circling Birdies: Gets a variant in Out Of Time after she gets hit in the head by one of Big Ben's clock hands. Accompanied by spiral eyes and Non Sequitur, *Thud*.
Lucy: (dizzy) "Hey little soupy cat... When did you get so fat? Eheh..."
  • Deadpan Snarker: When you work with people like Ben and Kate on a regular basis, this is a necessary survival strategy.
  • Hidden Depths: She's still somewhat bitter towards her ex for leaving her and she admits that Ben is her only friend.
  • Greed: The money reward is what motivates her to find and capture Turtle Man on camera in Shell Shock.
  • Masculine Girl, Feminine Boy: Masculine Girl to Ben's Feminine Boy.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: In Firing Squad, she throws Ben's camera away, which lands into radioactive waste and turns into a monster that the trio has to fight.
  • Only Sane Woman: Boy is she ever.
  • Paper-Thin Disguise: Disguises into Turtle Man to try to get reward money for catching the Turtle Man on camera; it's pretty obvious to the audience that it's her, not so much to Linda Weaver.
  • Platonic Life-Partners: With Ben, whether she likes it or not.
  • Rage Breaking Point: In Firing Squad, Ben's multiple attempts at making movies always causes the trio to lose their job, and when she sees him trying to make yet another movie while they're cleaning toilets, their last chance at a stable revenue, she snaps at Ben, calling him selfish and a troublemaker and throws his camera away.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Delivers a (somewhat justified one) to Ben in "Firing Squad".
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The deadpan Blue Oni to Ben’s eccentric Red Oni.
  • Soul-Sucking Retail Job: Being an animator doesn't get her paid enough, so she has to work as a cashier. Unfortunately, Ben's shenanigans cost her her job and her income in Firing Squad.
  • Stock Clock Hand Hang: Not a straight example, but in Out Of Time she is hung onto Big Ben's minute hand by her hoodie.
  • Technicolor Eyes: Her irises turn yellow and gain pupils whenever particularly shocked or emotional.
  • Token Good Teammate: The least malicious of the trio.
  • Was Too Hard on Him: She looks remorseful and tries to apologize to Ben after she called him out in Firing Squad.

    Benjamin "Ben" Dexter
Voiced by: Tom Ridgewell
Self-proclaimed filmmaker and Lucy's best (and only) friend.
  • Affably Evil: Sweet guy, a good friend to Lucy, an amoral filmmaker willing to murder old women and resurrect the dead to shoot his films.
  • Blue-and-Orange Morality: He seems to operate on this, hence his highly unethical filmmaking methods.
  • Brother–Sister Team: With Kate.
  • Camp Gay: Downplayed. He's artsy and feminine, but this highlights his eccentricity more than his sexuality.
  • Canis Latinicus: From Out Of Time, when he finds himself in the Roman Ages.
    Ben: Hmm... Thisius notticus betterum.
  • Catchphrase: "I'm a filmmaker!"
  • Cloudcuckoolander: Big time.
  • Covert Pervert: Sometimes, for example...
Lucy: We're in a giant clock.
    Ben: (excited) Ooooh!
    Kate: She said clock.
    Ben: (disappointed) Aw.
  • Cute and Psycho: In his more mad moments, such as in "Movie Massacre" and "Grave mistake".
  • Dirty Coward: Played for Laughs. In Out Of Time, he throws Kate into a dinosaur's mouth to save himself.
  • Establishing Character Moment: "Lucy, let's make a movie! Right! Hugging! NOW!"
  • Exposed to the Elements: Exaggeratedly inverted in Cover Up, which takes place in winter, and Ben is always cold no matter how many layers of coats he puts on.
  • Gay Best Friend: To Lucy, as revealed through Word of Gay.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: "Jerk" may be stretching things, as he's not so much actively malicious as he is short-sighted and a little selfish, but in any case, "Firing Squad" proves this about him. As bad as he can get, he genuinely cares about Lucy and Kate.
  • Mad Artist: He has his sister perform Satanic rituals to get actors for his films. And that's just for starters.
  • Masculine Girl, Feminine Boy: Feminine Boy to Lucy's Masculine Girl.
  • Nightmare Face: Pulls one in Grave Mistake around the 4th minute mark, as he raises more zombies from the dead to make a zombie movie and becomes more unhinged. Complete with a Laughing Mad.
  • Only Friend: Lucy admits that he's hers.
  • Platonic Life-Partners: With Lucy, whether she likes it or not.
  • Prima Donna Director: Is uncharacteristically douchey when directing, such as in "Movie Massacre" and "Grave Mistake".
  • Properly Paranoid:
    • In Fingered, he gets scared when a homeless guy points a Finger Gun at him. In the end, the homeless guy does kill the mayor by using his finger gun and making the mayor's head explode like a balloon.
    • In Sky Scam, when the plane is having turbulence, he thinks it's crashing and completely freaks out. It turned out that the plane was definitely crashing !
  • Rapid Aging: In Out Of Time, he is punished this way along with his sister by Father Time for messing up his timelines before turning into a pile of ashes. He gets better, sort of.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The enthusiastic and goofy Red Oni to Lucy's no-nonsense levelheaded Blue Oni.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: Surprisingly callous in the few episodes. In "Movie Massacre", he orders Lucy to shoot an old woman for his film, points her out to the pervert cops and lets her get shot at while he films a kitten on the street. In "Fingered", he throws Lucy towards the homeless man, a Harmless Villain, but he was shown to be genuinely terrified of him. In the future episodes, he is much more caring of Lucy, even saving her in "The Firing Squad".
  • Wholesome Crossdresser: As a kid, and also a couple of times in the intro.

    Katherine "Kate" Dexter
Voiced by: Alice Ann Stacey
Ben's demonic relative whom he treats as his little sister, who helps him with his movies.
  • Affably Evil: She's perky and adorable, even if she's Satanic little monster.
  • Ambiguously Human: She can float, is unkillable, has access to all sorts of demonic powers, has apparently been around since the Victorian era and according to a photo of Ben and Lucy when they were kids, she doesn't age. Notably, she's stated to only be Ben's half-sister. Further adding to this is the fact that she was apparently the one contacted by a demon summoning ritual conducted by several kids between the 70s-80s.
  • Apocalypse Maiden: Out of Time reveals that she ends up summoning an army of demons to bring about the end of the world.
  • Big Bad: Of the Eddsworld short "Trick or Threat", being the one possessing Edd and Matt into trying to kill each other for not giving her candy.
  • Bizarre Human Biology: Subverted... maybe. In Shell Shock, she says she sold two of her kidneys to buy the team's new building, but it turns out she was actually talking about kid knees.
  • Brother–Sister Team: With Ben.
  • Cute and Psycho: She's a small, adorable girl who's also a Satanic occultist.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Loves her brother, who she saved on multiple occasions.
  • Girlish Pigtails: Has them and they're cute.
  • Enfant Terrible: A Satanic little girl.
  • I Am a Humanitarian: Is seen several times consuming human blood or body parts throughout Shell Shock.
  • Iron Butt Monkey: Justified because she can't die.
  • Nigh-Invulnerability: She can't die and has survived multiple injuries (being blown up, a plane crash, being beaten up by a giant gorilla, being attacked by a shark, being eaten by a giant bird, etc.) without so much as a single scratch.
  • Nightmare Face: A Freeze-Frame Bonus in Out of Time reveals that she can split her head in half to reveal a large, toothy maw.
  • Noodle Incident: In Firing Squad, she mentions being illegal in 98 countries.
  • Power Floats: Her powers give her the ability to fly.
  • Rapid Aging: Like her brother, she is punished this way by Father Time in Out Of Time for screwing up his timelines, and eventually turns into a pile of ashes. Just like her brother, she gets better, in a way.
  • Token Evil Teammate: The most outwardly malicious of the trio.
  • Vague Age: She looks like a little girl and is referred to as a minor in the first episode, but is present in a childhood photograph of the ostensibly adult Ben and Lucy looking identical to how she looks now. In "Out of Time", she claims to be from the Victorian era, implying that Really 700 Years Old is at play here.
  • Would Hurt a Child: Keeps a box full of kid knees.

Other Characters

    The Old Lady
Voiced by: Chloe Dungate
An elderly woman who appears in "Movie Massacre".
  • Foreshadowing: She asks "Is this Earth?", as if she was senile, but it foreshadows that she's an alien in disguise.
  • Granny Classic: An old woman who bakes pies. Subverted, as it turns out she's actually an alien disguised as a human.
  • Obfuscating Stupidity: She wonders if she's on Earth, so Lucy assumes she's crazy. But it's revealed that she was an Alien Queen in disguise.
  • Walking Spoiler: She's not what she appears to be.

    Pervert Cops
Voiced by: Ed Skudder and Zack Keller
A pair of perverts impersonating police officers.
  • Ambiguously Bi/Ambiguously Gay: When they arrive, they demand Ben, Lucy and Kate to put their hands up and put their hands down their pants (though which of the three they were addressing is unknown). They also embrace each other while Lucy sings.
  • Ambiguously Evil: They impersonate police officers, hold the trio at gunpoint and shoot at Lucy, but whether they are actual criminals is unknown.
  • The Cameo: They had a very short appearance in "Shell Shock" alive and well.
  • Cool Shades: They both wear these.
  • Jerkass: Upon arriving, they sexually harass Ben and Lucy.
  • Porn Stache: They both sport a mustache and are... well, perverts.
  • Single Tear: One of them is shedding one during Lucy's song.

    Charles
Voiced by: Eddie Bowley
A zombie acting in Ben's film in "Grave Mistake".
  • Off with His Head!: Ben decapitates him with his notepad at the start of the short.
  • Revenant Zombies: Much like every other zombie risen by Kate, he retains full intelligence and memory of his past life.

    Jodie
Voiced by: Dodie Clark
The flight attendant in "Sky Scam".
  • Asshole Victim: She gets sucked out of the plane and into the engines.
  • Card-Carrying Villain: Flat-out states that she's committing extortion.
  • False Reassurance: "Don't worry Sir! The plane is definitely crashing!" and "...you won't be injured. Because you'll be dead!"
  • Faux Affably Evil: She acts in a friendly and professional manner... only to extort Ben into buying junk to keep fueling the plane.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: She has red pupils and is the main antagonist of the episode she appears in.
  • Too Dumb to Live: She is completely apathetic to the airplane crashing, despite being on board said plane. Either she doesn't realise she will die with all the other passengers, or she doesn't care, but either way, her lack of concern for even her own safety shows she is not right.

    Dr Bill Tedderson
Voiced by: Tom Ridgewell
A scientist who employs the trio in "Firing Squad".
  • Ambiguous Situation: He seems to have a background similar to Ben and shares a few traits with him, such as his head shape, clothing colors, a similar voice or his Mad Scientist streak evoking Ben's eccentricity, though he's much more responsible. It's however unclear if he is related to Ben in any way or not, or even if he is an older version of Ben from the future. Not helped by his Last-Second Word Swap and him telling the trio never to go to his lab or mentioning him ever again.
  • Boring, but Practical: He simply captures the ghost creature from Ben's camera with his Eye Beams and puts it in a containment unit so the protagonists don't have to fight it a second time.
  • Last-Second Word Swap: It sounds like he was about to say Ben when giving his name, but immediately and awkwardly changes to Bill Tedderson.
  • Mad Scientist: Downplayed in that he doesn't have the behaviour typically associated with the trope, instead being much more levelheaded. Nonetheless, his lab has a room containing paranormal specimens, another containing dinosaurs, laser weapons and explosions, and another contains the secret to everlasting happiness and fulfillment, he stores radioactive waste, and he wears a One-Way Visor that emits beams to let him manipulate objects, among other things.
  • One-Way Visor: Has one with green pixels to represent his eyes, not too dissimilar to Future Tom's from Eddsworld. He explains he got it by lazer eye surgery, though it's unknown if it was an intended consequence of said surgery or not. It also emits beams that can control objects from a distance.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: His visor's pixel eyes turn red when he's angry (though it's played for comedy rather than horror).
  • Shoutout: Looks to have a Gamer Driver.
  • Synthetic Voice Actor: Not him, but his "science labrador" has one, being voiced by Acapela's Will Up Close.

    Father Time
Voiced by: Stefan Johnson
A strange deity in charge of the timelines appearing in "Out Of Time".
  • Anti-Villain: He's not genuinely evil, he's just here to make sure nobody messes with his timelines.
  • Berserk Button: DON'T. EVER. Mess up his timelines!
  • Embarrassing Nickname: He doesn't like being called "Time Daddy".
  • Faux Affably Evil: While he briefly jokes with Kate, he is quick to kill her and her brother for messing up the timelines.
  • Father Time: A somewhat antagonistic version.
  • HA HA HA—No: His response to Kate asking if he's gonna make her and Ben "do time" for messing with his timelines.
Father Time: Hahaha... No. I'm just going to kill you.
  • Karma Houdini: Simply gets away after murdering Ben and Kate.
  • No-Nonsense Nemesis: While he does enjoy a bad pun, he remorselessly kills Ben and Kate after they mess up his timeline.
  • Villainy-Free Villain: He has no evil intentions, keeping the timelines in check is just his job, but he's very overzealous about it, as shown when he kills Ben and Kate for messing with his timelines.
  • Would Hurt a Child: He unintentionally kills a cockney kid while spawning his portal out. However, he deliberately kills Kate by Rapid Aging her and her brother.

    Linda Weaver
Voiced by: Paula Kay
  • Action Mom: Became one after she lost her son to Turtle Man, and is determined to find him.
  • Eyes Always Shut: Except for when she's gasping or shocked, her eyes are always drawn in thick, straight lines.
  • Logic Bomb: "That day I swore I'd capture the Turtle Man alive! Even if it kills him!"
  • Shaped Like Itself: "I remember it like it was a flashback".
  • Tomato Surprise: Turtle Man ate her son 25 years earlier when the 2 were out shopping. In reality, "Turtle Man" IS her son, who got stuck in the shopping cart and spent those 25 years in a cave, away from his mother.

    Turtle Man/Rufus Weaver
Voiced by: Eddie Bowley
  • Eats Babies: Or so the legends say. In reality, no.
  • Go Mad from the Isolation: Subverted. Despite growing up in a cave for 25 years, Rufus doesn't show any signs of mental instability.
  • Nice Guy: Shows no malice towards Lucy or Ben when they come across his cave, although he unintentionally hurt Ben in his game of "Rock-Face" (A game where you throw rocks at each other's faces).
  • Tomato Surprise: Got stuck in the child seat of a shopping cart and spent the last 25 years in a cave, isolated from his mother, leading her to believe he was eaten by "Turtle Man".
