An orphan hailing from the desert planet Rosa. He dreams of seeing the galaxy, but when the Longardian military forces occupy his planet, they make it illegal to leave. Luckily, some pirates just happen to be looking for a new recruit in the area, and Jaster was recently given a legendary sword by a strange hooded man...

- Mistaken Identity: Almost. Everyone thinks he's the legendary Desert Claw, due to him holding Desert Seeker.
- Secret Legacy: He is a descendant of the Star King.
- You Have GOT to Be Kidding Me!: His face absolutely screams this when MIO gives him a fan club card as a gift, complete with item fanfare, after the team finally manages to renew the Dorgenark’s galactic visa.
Simon Wicard
- Voiced by: Masaya Onosaka (Japanese), Greg Ellis (English)
A mysterious man from Zerard that dislikes talking about his past and refuses to show his face.
- Disappeared Dad: Simon IS the dad in this situation - he abandoned his family following an accident that disfigured him entirely.
- Fire-Breathing Weapon: His first secondary weapon is a handheld flamethrower, but he can acquire variants that spew ice or lightning later on.
- Macross Missile Massacre: His primary weapon is a missile launcher, which is naturally capable of doing this.
Steve
- Voiced by: Hideyuki Umezu (Japanese), Yuri Lowenthal (English)
A high-tech robot constructed by Dr. Pocacchio. Currently, he works as the pirate ship Dorgenark's pilot.
- Expy: of C-3PO. It helps that Yuri Lowenthal is clearly pulling the best imitation of Anthony Daniels he can muster.
- Power Fist: His primary weapon for melee combat.
Kisala
- Voiced by: Aya Ueto (Japanese), Natalie Lander (English)
Captain Dorgengoa's daughter, whose sweet exterior belies a very clever and capable young woman.
- Break the Fourth Wall: If in the party, she'll suggest things like saving and, if you've played long enough, to take a break from the game.
- Hidden Badass: Don't let her sweetness fool you. She will kick your ass.
- Kick Chick: She uses kicks as her secondary attacks.
- The Power of Love: Her combination attack with Jaster attacks all enemies with a powerful attack made manifest by their love.
- Secret Legacy: She is really the missing Princess of Mariglenn, Irieth.
Zegram Ghart
- Voiced by: Kazuhiro Yamaji (Japanese), Steve Blum (English)
An elite Hunter hired by Captain Dorgengoa. He prides himself on being a friendless "Lone Wolf".
Lilika Rhyza
- Voiced by: Kikuko Inoue (Japanese), Kari Wahlgren (English)
An amazon from the remote and primitive Burkaqua Tribe of the planet Juraika. She's fiercely protective of her little sister.
- The Exile: Lilika goes into exile after killing the Star God. This suits her just fine as said exile leaves her free to stay with the crew of the Dorgenark.
- No Good Deed Goes Unpunished: She kills the Star God having revealed it for what it truly was - The monster that killed her mother and blinded her sister. Despite this, the elder still banishes her from the village.
- You Killed My Father: The Star God killed her mother.
Jupis Tooki McGanel
- Voiced by: Yutaka Aoyama (Japanese), Ben Diskin (English)
A brilliant and obnoxious scientist that, after his plan to take revenge on the company that fired him fails, decides to join the very pirates that thwarted him.
- Humongous Mecha: "Johnny"
- Roaring Rampage of Revenge: Averted. He attacks Starship Factory because he was fired and because of this his life's work was ruined, his reputation was shattered, and his wife left him.
- Shock and Awe: His Yo-Yo shock attack.
Deego Aegis
- Voiced by: Unshō Ishizuka (Japanese), David Sobolov (English)
An ex-soldier that's fallen into a state of apathy and spends his days in a bar on the mining planet Vedan. He tries to steer clear of trouble, but when an old friend of his falls in with the local mafia, he's forced to take action.
- Baritone of Strength: He's an axe-wielding former soldier, with a deep calm voice that radiates badassitude. The main benefit of being voiced by David Sobolov.
- Neutral No Longer: The Morarty Family burning down Angela's bar is what finally drives him to action.
- Unwitting Pawn: He and his troops were tricked into firing at civilians in order to prolong the war.
- Visual Pun: He's a literal dog soldier. Fittingly for a military character, that's also the name of a real-life band of Cheyenne warriors.
Desert Claw (real name Mizel)

The mysterious hooded man that gives Jaster the legendary Desert Seeker sword, sparking his adventure.
Captain Dorgengoa

The leader of the Dorgengoa Pirates, and Kisala's father.
Monsha

Captain Dorgengoa's talking cat and first mate, who's in charge whenever the captain is asleep.
Raul

A priest that has been Jaster's father figure ever since the man found Jaster as an abandoned baby on the steps of his church.
Burton

An explorer who's desperately interested in seeing the universe's most fabulous ruins and treasures.
- Adventurer Archaeologist: He is a noncombatant, but manages to get himself in the thick of danger anyway including turning himself into a ghost at least once.
- He Knows Too Much: Apparently killed by Ragnar because he figured out the real reason why Eden was sealed away. Subverted when he returns later for a Big Damn Heroes moment.
Miri

Lilika's little sister.

Mark Pocacchio
- Voiced by: Tomoe Hanba (Japanese), Colleen O'Shaughnessey (English)
Dr. Pocacchio's son who passed away sometime before the events at the Starship Factory and whose memories Dr. Pocacchio sealed in Steve's emotional circuits.
- Death of a Child: Mark died before the party (besides Steve) meets him, and even though Dr. Pocacchio 'saves' the memory of him by storing it inside Steve, this digital version of Mark allows himself to be wiped from Steve's memory to save Dr. Pocacchio from being incarcerated.
- Face Death with Dignity: We don't know how the real Mark might have felt before his death, but the version we know is not afraid of being 'deleted' to save the people he owes his existence to.
- What Measure Is a Non-Human?: The memory of Mark stored inside Steve wholeheartedly accepts that despite how he feels, he's not a human being, and forces Steve to delete all trace of him inside of Steve to save his father from being arrested for violating ethics as an inventor.

- Redemption Equals Death: Gale goes after the Morarty family after the battle with Deego and is killed by the family's son.
- Revenge Before Reason: Instead of leaving Myna right away, Gale goes after the Morarty family entirely on his own because they tricked him and is killed before leaving Vedan.
Angela

The owner of the bar where Deego languishes.
MI0
- Voiced by: Tomoe Hanba (Japanese), Heather Hogan (English)
An idol who acts as receptionist for the Galazy Corporation.
- Beauty Is Bad: MIO jails the party not two minutes after meeting them, because Lilika is a bit scary.
- Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Because Lilika is unfriendly towards her, she decides to have them thrown in jail for a crime they didn't commit.
- Ridiculously Human Robots: When MIO is performing at a concert, an exact duplicate named M10 takes her place as receptionist.
- Valley Girl: MIO speaks this way in the US version. In a private moment regarding Mark, it's revealed to be part of her stage persona.
Miyoko & Chie

A woman and child that wander the galaxy, endlessly searching for their lost husband/father.
- Disappeared Dad: The two are looking for Chie's father, who disappeared following an accident at the factory where he worked.
- Recurring Traveller: Seriously, they appear in the most dangerous places, at the most random times.
Valkog

The sinister head of the Galaxy Corporation, which owns Daytron and handles most of the heavy manufacturing for the Longardian Federation.
Norma Kissleigh
- Voiced by: Miho Yamada (Japanese), Michelle Ruff (English)
Valkog's faithful assistant.
- Bad Guys Do the Dirty Work: She is the one who kills Rosencaster once the heroes defeat him and escape.
- The Dragon: She is Valkog's second-in-command and is actively involved in his plans.
- Four Eyes, Zero Soul: Her spectacles is one of her defining features and she's working for Valkog.
- You Have Failed Me: She personally kills Rosencaster shortly after he fails to stop Jasper and his party from escaping his prison.
Professor Izel

One of Daytron's top scientists, who often handles the R&D aspects of Valkog's special projects.
Seed
