Who do you think would be characters in Poker Night 3? In my opinion, I could see either:

You guys have any ideas? And what would their conversations be?

Can't find a Headscratchers section, so I'm posting this here.

It's tough to tell whether or not the Army of Darkness comics are canon to this version of Ash. On the one hand, Claptrap references the comic wherein Ash fought Jason Vorhees and Freddy Kruger, which would suggest that they are. But then, on the other hand, Brock asks if he knows what happened to Sheila and Ash says he doesn't know. But, if the comics were canon, he'd know. In the comics, Sheila returns to the present between the events of "Ashes 2 Ashes" and those of "Shop 'Til You Drop Dead" because she finds she has an insatiable urge to fight evil. At the beginning of "Army of Darkness VS The Re-Animator", she is taken away by the cops (who mistake Ash for an insane killer) and is ultimately assimilated by the Deadites.

This also makes G La DOS's answer to Brock's question decidedly ignorant of the comic book canon. Sheila can't have been killed by the Black Plague in the 14th century because she never made it back to the 14th century before being assimilated.

I suppose this could be a reference to the Evil Dead film trilogy's tendency of ignoring its own canon, but I'd really like an answer to this.

Pulled:

  • Old Save Bonus: For two games. Just like last time, characters will ante up items for use in Team Fortress 2 or Borderlands 2, depending on the platform you are playing the game on. In the Xbox 360 version, items for your Xbox 360 Avatar can be unlocked as well and achievements worth 20 G each. In the PlayStation 3 version, they can also unlock themes for the user's XMB. Right now, the iOS version does not do this. How to win them is different this time. The player has to complete three "bounty challenges", picked at random. If the player completes all three, the other players will start to put out bounty items. Instead of busting out the character who betted the item, all the player has to do is win the tourmament.

— It's more or less the exact opposite of an old save bonus. If you win the awards, you have the items available whether or not you have the other games.

We should probably make it so that when people type in "tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/ Main / Poker Night 2", it automatically redirects them to "tvtropes.org.../ Video Game / Poker Night 2". Does anyone know how to do this?

I can take care of it later today.

Er, someone reversed it again. Why, again, aren't people being redirected to Videogame / Poker Night 2 when they type in Main / Poker Night 2?

Hmm.. odd. Video Game/ Poker Night 2 still works, but Poker Night 2 is a redlink.

We're not supposed to have work articles in the Main/ namespace anymore, not even as redirects.

So then why does pretty much every other work page on the website take you to the proper directory name when you type in only it's name? Ghost In The Shell Stand Alone Complex takes me to Anime/GhostInTheShellStandAloneComplex

That's because a lot of pages still have the remnants of the time before this rule was implemented (turns out cleaning this up is painfully slow), an excuse new work pages don't have.

That sucks. I still like to just type in the work page without the directory for the sake of convenience for message boards and directions like this.

Hmm... given the Four-Temperament Ensemble of the last game, I wonder what the dynamic shall be for this one...

  • Ash has at least part of the Choleric dynamic given his tendency to bluff, even with crummy hands. Actually, he may be Sanguine.
  • Claptrap's mannerism may suggest Sanguine when it comes to pre-game expectations, but his playstyle is not so erratic when compared to the likes of Brock or Ash, and he's pretty tight to boot. Phlegmatic perhaps?
  • Sam is cautious, and not overly aggressive, so Melancholic could be it. Besides, it's the opposite of what Max is, and the duo really works off each other in this way.
  • Brock may be the hardest to pin down, as he's not the one to bluff lightly, although he still can be swayed by exorbitant bets unless he's sure he has a good hand or lulled into a false sense of security... Most likely choleric, much like he was in the source material, since he still can be threatening.

I can see a Five-Man Band dynamic too, similar to that of the first game:

Only thing is... that the trope pretty much isn't allowed to apply to anything that isn't an actual team, or with sufficient explanation why each character fits each type.

Someone on the Telltale forums suggested that there may actually be no legal snags with using Winslow, as he's exclusive to the Telltale seasons. They claimed Disney only owns the characters from the original games. Can anyone confirm this?
