Find a Trope:
openFrom fan character to original character?
Supposedly some of the creatures designed for Temtem were originally fakemon (Pokemon fan characters) that became part of the game. A backer bought the rights to blue Platypus fakemon and put it in the game and all.
What would the trope for this be? I don't think either Expy or Captain Ersatz would work, but this is an interesting case.
Edited by TomodachiopenWrong Correction
Which would be the trope when someone says something and gets corrected, and then corrects the wrong thing?
Like Bob is talking about those superheroes that fight "Superman and Catman" Alice corrects him saying is Batman, and then Bob fixes it saying that movie with "Batman and Catman."
open"I love you, but I have no choice"
A character that loves another character, or at least consider them as their best friend. However, they are forced (against their own will) to fight, or otherwise treat the other character as an enemy, simply because the other character hates them and/or are evil.
I can only think of a few examples:
1) Sky Tate (blue ranger)/Dru (Power Rangers SPD) - They are best friends, or at least they used to be. When Dru's spaceship crashed on Earth, the Power Rangers rescued him, and accepted him at their base. Over the time, Jack (red ranger) became suspicious of Dru's behavior, but Jack didn't listened him, as he still saw Dru as his friend. However, when Dru, transformed as a monster, attacked Doggie Cruger, then fled, Sky chased him, then when both of them confronted, Sky finally realized that Dru was evil. In a certain way, he still saw Dru as his friend, but Dru was now seeing Sky as his enemy. Sky tried to save him at all costs, but ultimately, he had no choice but to arrest him. It is implied that Sky still sees Dru as his friend, considering that Sky called him "old friend" when arresting him.
2) Obi-Wan Kenobi/Anakin Skywalker (Star Wars) - Obi-Wan had Anakin as his Jedi apprentice, but he also considered Anakin to be his best friend, a brother. Obi-Wan became incredibly upset when he realized Anakin got corrupted by the dark side of the force, and gone as far as killing innocent children. When he brought Padmé to Mustafar, Obi-Wan tried to convert Anakin back to the light side of the force, but the latter didn't listened him. Obi-Wan had no choice but to fight him. At a certain point during their battle, Obi-Wan cut off Anakin's legs. Obi-Wan then said he was the chosen one, and it was said he would destroy the Sith, not join them. That he would bring balance to the force, and not throw it in the darkness. Anakin replied "I hate you", to which Obi-Wan replied "You were like a brother to me. I loved you." This implies despite all that happened, Obi-Wan still sees Anakin as his best friend, and the only reason he did what he did was because Anakin forced him to. Padmé also fits tis, seeing how she didn't, at first, believed that Anakin got corrupted by the dark side. She tried to bring him back to the light side, but Anakin started believing Obi-Wan "corrupted" her and they were both trying to kill him. Anakin hanged her using the force and, due to that and her lack of will to live, she died, but before dying, she said there was still goodness in Anakin. This implies she still loved him and had a small hope that he could become a good person again.
Edited by CutieCatboyS2openCharacter-Centric Level Videogame
A level or map of some sort that's themed around a certain character's themes or abilities. For example, in Bloons Tower Defense 6, the Mortar Monkey update came with a new map called Moon Landing that mostly involves the enemies circling around in craters; the Mortar is meant to be used for this map as it constantly attacks in one spot.
Edited by GrotadmorvopenWarrior culture in crisis
A Proud Warrior Race that values power and victory above all else... that has lost its power to a more powerful opponent that doesn't share its values. This leads to a sort of cultural existential crisis, where people try to reconcile their belief in might-makes-right with the reality no longer having might. Ultimately, two factions emerge, one of which sees their people's warrior ethos as outdated and seeks to abandon or moderate it, and another which seeks to overthrow their enemies and restore their people's rightful place in the world. (Or at least die a good death in the process.)
Examples include the Krogan from Mass Effect, (The two factions being Wrex/Eve and Wreav) the Mandalorians from Star Wars, (The two factions being the New Mandalorians and Death Watch) and the Ironborn from Game Of Thrones (The two factions being Yara and Theon and Balon and Euron.)

Do we have this? A character is thrown to a new enviroment, they know nothing, but then a nice soul takes pity on them and start explaining them about the enviroment so they can actually work out in it.
openHistory hijacked with politics
Is there a trope where a country's history is hijacked by politics?
For example, a Ministry of Education revising history so that it may elevate an infamous president who ordered the expulsion into a hero of the nation and depict the people who fled during the expulsion willingly left under the orders of the other country.
openRomantic horse ride? Literature
Do we have a trope where the girl and guy ride a horse together? One or both of the couple is probably using this as an excuse to get really close and wrap arms around the others' waist. I imagine it's related to the "crying equestrian" trope, since riding double is rarely practical or good for the horse.
openTeam Daughter
The much-younger, almost-Always Female character on a team that all team members act as Team Dad / Team Mom towards, usually for Papa Wolf / Twerp Sweating humor.
In this case a little girl being accompanied by four adult adventurers (an orc, a dwarf, a human, and an elf), and when they run into a foul-mouthed bandit, the first three pull a simultaneous three-man Cover Innocent Eyes and Ears on her while the elf brutally takes out the bandit.
There's also the story of Noh and Five Fathers (both featuring an adventuring party adopting a little girl).
openchasing-catching game
Two people each have a token, like a flag or a handkerchief, that they wear on their person. They try to grab the other person's token while protecting their own.
openYou have to take responsibility of me. Anime
A cliche line in anime. Because of something that someone did which caused another person's marriage prospects to be ruined, either that person can no longer get married or they will find it very difficult to get married.
So the person who caused this ruination has to "take responsibility" for it, the implication being that they have to marry them.
Is there a trope pertaining to this line? There is Honorable Marriage Proposal, but that is related to honor and reputation. In my situation, the person may end up being disowned by their family because of actions they undertook for someone else, which is why they asked them to "take responsibility" for them.
open"He looks like Hitler, get him out" ?? Live Action TV
Bob is a farm laborer in a Ruritania-type setting. He is an almost- Identical Stranger to Adolf Hitler and people harass him for this, but he's actually a good guy. However, everyone wants him out the village due to looking like Hitler and a Conspiracy Theorist claims Bob is related to Hitler.
Do we have such a trope for this - being harassed for looking identical to a long-dead hated historical figure?
openVillain's mindset is basically "how dare anyone different than me exist"?
What would this be? Absolute Xenophobe?
Edited by BootlebatopenOpposite of Evil sounds deep
What would be the opposite, i.e where an innocent character has a very soft and cute voice? None of the inverted examples on the Evil Sounds Deep page fit.
openLaw Enforcer, Lawbreaker siblings
Subtrope of Sibling Yin-Yang. One sibling is a policeman, detective, lawyer, or someone else who works in law enforcement, and the other is a criminal.
I have two examples. Do we have this, and is it tropeworthy?
I forgot what this trope is called, Aren't they usually called the killjoy or the nagger by other characters?
