openTropes on Hand Jumper Webcomic
I'm very new to TV Tropes wiki-making and wanted to make a page on the webcomic "Hand Jumper" but saw that the page was previously deleted. I'd like to start it up again but first may I get some permission so I don't do anything wrong?
Edited by wingedcatgirlopenThe page "Where Was My Hero?" Needs a Cleanup Webcomic
So, I have been looking over the page for Where Was My Hero...? and it seems like the page is a bit messy in regards to having too many tropes on the page and most of the tropes are not in alphabetical order. I tried to edit some of the page, but there's too much to go through on this page. Does this page need a bit of a cleanup?
opentv tropes missing buttons????/ Webcomic
Ive been trying to rehaul the homestuck beyond canon page and when i tried to create a shoutout page it was just blatantly missing from the create new tab
openPossible edit war on Spying With Lana Webcomic
I deleted this entry on Spying with Lana for not being a valid example, as even looking at the page image will show Lana doesn't qualify, and it has been added back without explanation.
Original deleted entry:
- Ambiguously Brown: Lana's ethnicity is never mentioned, and her skin tone is definitely brown.
New entry:
- Ambiguously Brown: Lana has a notably darker skin tone than most of the 'white' characters we encounter, but not very dark. It's never made clear whether this is the result of ethnicity, tanning, or some other form of skin colouration (the latter two being notable possibilities given the frequent nature of her work).
openProper trope listing for character Webcomic
One of the character's in Endless Nights at Freddy's is named Nani Pua'a which is a pig and name translates to "Beautiful Pig" in Hawaiian. I haven't been able to figure out which trope goes for her since Bilingual Bonus, Species Surname, A Dog Named "Perro" and Meaningful Name seem to fit there
Edited by CosmiVibinopenRepeat AutoEroticTroping offense Webcomic
I ended up coming across the page TearJerker.Sonic Into Across And Beyond, as the main page has come up in the related query for another work I follow.
This would not be a problem if not for the following two reasons:
- The sole contributor to the article is Motorbike User 43, who is also the author of this fic.
- This person has already been suspended before for Auto-Erotic Troping.
Though I hate to throw another user under the bus (they've consistently reacted very poorly to being called out for policy violations, self-flagellating rather than trying to improve), I draw the line at behavior indistinguishable from ignorance.
Edited by TrocyteVopenMissing quote reference Webcomic
So...all this time while I was working on Peter and Company, I just realized something; I see the page quote as following.
But whoever added it neglected to state where the quote came from.
I happen to know where this particular quote came from and where to link it, but I'm not sure if I'm authorized to do that in particular. Is it ok if I put where this quote came from? I've done it before with NonPack, I'd be more than happy to do it for this one!
Edited by Stardust5099openShould this work page be deleted? Webcomic
Webcomic.Penny Dreadful has no visible tropes because they were all commented out as ZCEs two years ago. The troper who contributed most to it has only made edits for this webcomic back in 2015.
However, the provided link to the webcomic doesn't seem to have it anymore. It just shows an image with a bunch of Chinese text, leading me to think the domain was sold/given up.
Should the work page be deleted? I just thought of digging into web.archive.org but I'm in a hurry to actually look at them.
Edited by BlackFaithStaropenHow to make a new page for a webcomic? Webcomic
Hiya tropers, I want to make a page for my webcomic, Siblings of Steel, but I’m not sure how to go about it. Could someone please layout the process for me step-by-step? Thanks a ton!
openNew work page ownership. Webcomic
The newly created work page Dungeons & Doodles: Tales from the Tables sports this banner on top:
"This page is currently work in progress. PM Breeze Bender before making any changes here."
That's against the wiki rules, right? You can't claim ownership on a page; once created, any editor is free to make changes to it...
openOriginal Webcomic Confused With Fan Work Webcomic
On the Webcomics page X Meets Y, a lot of entries were moved to the Fan Works page, which is okay for the most part but one of these included
- Mare Wolves is My Little Pony meets Teen Wolf.
Thing is, while Mare Wolves is absolutely inspired by MLP, it's ultimately meant to be an original project. And I know this because I made the comic.
That being said, I want to avoid an edit war, so would it be alright to move it back to the webcomic page?
openDark Fall (Game) vs Dark Fall (Manhwa) Webcomic
I need help. I was trying to make a Wiki about Dark Fall (Manhwa not Game). I was about to finish but then I noticed something. They are under the same webpage. https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/VideoGame/DarkFall https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Manhwa/DarkFall I want them to be separate so that I can make a character page for Dark Fall Manhwa. How can I make them separate?
Edited by KeithNileopenRedirect stuff Webcomic
Hello, I'd like to move Freddy Fox to Simon And Freddy.
Why, you may ask? You see, the comic's own site seems to be down, and while the strips can still be found on the artist's social media accounts, including on FurAffinity, they use the latter name while those same exact strips used the former back when they could still be accessed on the dedicated website.
However, Simon And Freddy is currently a redirect, so I'd like to do a switcheroo by changing that to the actual work page name, with Freddy Fox being its redirect.
Thanks in advance, Bryson.
Edited by OmegaPC777openChanging page category Webcomic
I've been working on the The Dungeon Cleaning Life Of A Once Genius Hunter page by picking it up directly from its link in the Webtoon page. Though, originaly this work was a webnovel so it should be in the Litterature category, but I can't figure out how to change the page category or make a new appropriate page, move the page code and then make this page transfer to the appropriate Litterature page (I hope I worded that in a way that made sense). I looked aroud in threads a bit and apparently it's only something mods can do? In any case, I'm lost and I've read to turn to mods in this situation so here I am. What can I do to fix it?
Edited by GastonRabbitopenCan we recreate the The Doghouse Diaries page? Webcomic
It says that the The Doghouse Diaries page was reduced to a stub and thus cut after all zero context examples were commented out. If that's accurate, then why is there no edit history for the page? Is the history deleted when its page is cut?
And is it okay to recreate the page? It's the image source for at least 3 tropes, and has a decent number of links. It shouldn't be too hard to write a description, read some or all of the comic, and add descriptive examples of tropes therein (and yes, I am willing to do so).
openHow do I find Tropes for obscure media, NSFW, etc...? Webcomic
I'm new to these forums, so forgive me if this isn't the best place for it, but how do you find any kind of Tropes related to a specific webcomic I've been reading? I'm really inspired by like 1 or 2 characters in the story and want to create my own character based on the one in the wbecomic.
Unfortunately, I can't really seem to find any pages related to the comic, and on top of that the comic happens to be NSFW. The webcomic is called "Arcana Tales" and it's by powfooo. The character that I'm really inspired by is Kit, the mischievous furry. I can't place why I have an interest towards the guy, he does seem annoying at first. That's why I want to know, so I can continue developing my original character...
An idea I have in mind is to find people who are willing to find these Tropes for me, but I have no where to even start. Help is much appreciated!
openPage/work name query - what counts as part of the name? Webcomic
Do we have a cleanup thread for work name queries? I don't think I've seen one, so posting this here as a first step...
Marvel Comics has two lines of paywalled webcomics - Infinity Comics is the current one (optimised for reading on phones), Infinite Comics was the previous imprint.
- All of these webcomics add the imprint as a suffix and part of the title whenever it's mentioned on Marvel's apps and website - e.g. Alligator Loki Infinity Comic.
- Covers don't do this, and only mention the imprint in a corner box (as seen on the Alligator Loki page image).
- Reprints of the story in other formats (e.g. Webcomic Print Collection) drop the suffix entirely.
At the moment, our work pages for these webcomics don't treat the suffix as part of the official title, so it's not included in the work page names.
Over on the cleanup thread, the question's been asked as to whether we need to treat this as part of the title for page names etc.
Do we need to move them, or create redirects, to reflect this?
The author of Peter and Company, who goes by the username PeterAndCompany, I'm pretty sure just violated The Fic May Be Yours, but the Trope Page Is Ours and Auto-Erotic Troping.
I quote the following from the former:
Nowhere have I seen the author do this at all; as far as I can tell, they also did not go to any of the cleanup pages. They instead gave a lengthy edit reason stating that they are the author in an attempt to justify their vandalism of the page, which as Edit War states, is not sufficient discussion; Essentially he is trying to claim ownership of the page.
He has also gone on the trivia page and the YMMV page to do the exact same thing, moreso with the latter especially on parts that have to do with the main webcomic itself, and has also engaged in Auto-Erotic Troping on this paticular edit and possibly the Main page. Admin has not indicated to me that he had the permission needed to take down what I wrote or the right to make the edits he made (the latter of which had nothing to do with removing misinformation on the Trivia page) either, so I'm on high alert with this.
He has also done the following which is something authors are not supposed to do, especially in regard to YMMV. I quote the following:
I am open to input from the community and admin on this matter as to what can, should, or if anything can be done.
