Would removing "The irony of this entire statement is that the Pokemon fanbase has wanted an open-world, Breath of the Wild style game for quite some time" work? Everything preceding that seems like it would be fine. But the quoted section isn't relevant.
If anything, just lock all pages on upcoming Pokemon games after the Sword/Shield debacle. I don't think we need that here.

Locking doesn't actually resolve the issue, which is whether or not the perspn's trope entry is valid.
If It Suck's entries on prerelease works aren't allowed, then it should be cut, THEN locked until release.
Removing it is a good call. But unless a lock is made to prevent further attempts to add NREP-restricted YMMV items too ahead of time, the best we can do is to add a commented-out disclaimer to advise tropers not to put said items as long as the game's in development.

I agree with removing it. I get the feeling that whoever added this would have added it (or at least the second sentence) under Hypocritical Fandom if that hadn't been cut for being Flame Bait.

- They Copied It, So It Sucks!: The immediate reaction from the less-than-pleasant side of the fanbase was that Pokemon is merely copying The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
The above two entries as it sounds like the main issue is it's misused prerelease as fundamentally a level of complaining and knee-jerk we want to avoid. I'm not even sure the net reaction was negative enough to warrant Tainted by the Preview. Should it be straight up cut?

I'd rather we not do this, but I support a lock out of an abundance of caution - a lot of Nintendo fans are still riled up from Dexit and have gone septic as a result.
^I'm fine with that. Maybe YMMV.Pokemon Diamond And Pearl should be locked as well, since it also came up recently.

This sounds more like a Hatedom or Vocal Minority given it admits this is what most fans wanted. A Win Back the Crowd entry was added, then removed per waiting period, arguing most of the fans were happy and did not think this. (Would Win The Crowd apply here?)
