The page says "thanks to poor word choice, unusual inflection, bad object placement or some other factor, what was obviously meant to be taken at face value takes on some sexual subtext.", since "daddy" isn't poor word choice, the entry should be removed unless additional context (such as unusual inflection for the word) can be added.

And that unusual inflection can only really be done if it were voiced. A great example comes from Elizabeth Taylor voicing Maggie's first word in a Simpsons episode as the director had to get her to do several takes to make her, "Sound like a 1-year old who loves her father and not a 21-year old about to give a lap dance."

Besides, "daddy" being a term for "boyfriend" has been a thing since at least the 1920's.

I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.

Yeah that entry is a shoehorn. I'd get rid of that entry.

I've seen other "examples" of Accidental Innuendo like this where it's really just the troper thinking "Heh Heh, You Said "X"", maybe I should start tracking these...

For the record, the other two entries are someone saying "Did you just come out of the closet!?" because, well, you just emerged from a time portal in his closet, and someone saying "Oh stop that, you bad boy!" when you repeatedly follow him and talk to him.

Maybe Accidental Innuendo needs a cleanup?

Or maybe a cleanup in general for shoehorning sexual stuff where it isn't applicable, because I've seen pages full of that and it can get creepy.

I agree that that example is a shoehorn. Even if that meaning of "daddy" dates back a century and not just a decade, that text sounds like nothing more than a girl addressing her father... which is exactly what that text is.

That said, I'm fine with keeping the "Did you come out of the closet?" entry. I don't know how old that definition of "coming out of the closet" is, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't unknown when that game was released. Also, there's the fact that the DS port changed that line.

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.

Agreed with removing the "daddy" entry as it is a shoehorn and lacks perverted connotations, but most Accidental Innuendo examples seem fine, including the remaining two on the page.
