Easing back into life one step at a timeYep, the poor folks in that particular universe must be confused as hell.
Here it is, guys! Let me know what you think.
Planet of the Symbiotes
The Champions find themselves in a familiar setting, but quickly discover that all is not well in the Big Apple; the city has been turned into a warzone, and horrific monstrosities prowl the streets in search of victims to infect. Surrounded on all sides by ravening monsters and costumed characters struggling to restore order to a maddened New York, will the Champions purge this blight and save the world, or will they succumb to their baser urges and give into the great and terrible power these parasites have to offer?- The action takes place in New York City, as depicted in countless iterations of the Marvel Universe—in particular, this version of New York shall appear as it is depicted in the video game Spider Man Web Of Shadows. The city will be relatively intact at first, but as time passes it will devolve into a ruined battlefield filled with shattered windows, ruined streets, overturned cars and vast symbiote hives that stretch from skyscraper to skyscraper.
- There are two possible objectives to complete in this challenge, both of which are mutually exclusive. The first option is to purge New York of its symbiote infestation, which involves creating a weapon that can kill all of the aliens in the city and requires the player to defeat Venom; and the second is to wrest control of the symbiote-infected New Yorkers from Venom and use it to infect and conquer the rest of the world, which involves defeating Venom. Depending on their choices, Spider-Man and a number of different characters will aid or hinder the Champions throughout the course of this challenge, and their allegiances may change unexpectedly.
- Regardless of the Champions’ individual objectives, they will be opposed every step of the way be the symbiote-infected citizens of New York; the Symbiotes themselves are mere offshoots of the Venom symbiote itself, and are thus subservient to its will. Most importantly, these symbiotes are not attacking the Champions of their own will; the symbiotes have supressed their hosts’ original personalities, and if the Champions manage to break this control even for an instant they will find scared and frightened New Yorkers whimpering in terror or begging for help.
- Spider-Man must survive throughout the Challenge, or the Champions will lose.
- For the duration of this challenge, the Champions will themselves be infected with a weaker version of the symbiotes plaguing New York; these watered-down symbiotes are not strong enough to completely subvert their personalities, but can and will make the Champions more aggressive and violent. In addition to this, they also allow their hosts to cling to walls and make prodigious leaps; this is intended to serve as a gameplay balancing feature, as it wouldn’t be any fun to have a challenge based on Spider-Man if the Champions themselves can’t join Spider-Man in amazing and spectacular aerial battles. Note that these are the only abilities conferred by being host to a symbiote; you will not be able to shoot webs or generate enormous tendrils with which to swing from buildings or smash things.
- Important NPCs include Spider-Man, Luke Cage, Wolverine, Moon Knight, Mary Jane Watson, the Black Cat, Wilson Fisk (a.k.a., the Kingpin of Crime), the Vulture, Rhino, the Black Cat, and of course Venom.
- Minor NPCs include various New York gangsters, SHIELD agents, terrified civilians, and symbiote-infected New Yorkers.

The Danse Macabre CodexI love that game.
The Goblins as well?
Nope; neither the Green Goblin nor the Hobgoblin will appear. You've got enough on your platter with the symbiotes, man; it's not like the Avengers or the Fantastic Four are going to bail you out.

The Danse Macabre CodexThat sounds pretty damned awesome, Frog.
A Spider-Man challenge?
FUCK YEAH!
J. Jonah Jameson should be involved, even if only mentioned by Spider-Man.
Call the Marines! CALLLLLL THE MARRRRIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNEEEEEEESSSSS!
Locking you up on radar since '09Marvel Universe? Nice.
Magic nerf off ...Mostly, anyway.
You know...this might just be me and my general Chaotic Neutral self acting up, but you know what would totally freak with their heads? Good old-fashioned body-swapping. I mean that would just make everything messed up. Swap Rey into Eddie and watch Rey bashing everything because he can't control Eddie's strength, swap Ravage and Harry and...well what could possibly NOT go wrong there...swap Blink and Keshar for...Jesus that would be bad.
Again like I said...I'ma Chaotic Neutral as it gets. I just like havoc. Plus it doesn't seem like it'd be out of line for the Nomads.
Easing back into life one step at a time^ Blink sitting quietly, sipping tea and sniffing flowers. Yuuka jumping around everywhere and hugging everybody. With Super-Strength.

I prefer Blink and Yuuka getting swapped, if we do that. Mainly because what Dave just explained sounds hilarious.
Especially since Blink might have a little PSL for Yuuka.

"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up."This is what I wanted to go for in the Lord Of The Rings thing, but this sounds better. Who else is a Fragile Speedster?
Harry and Ravage swapping is going to be so fun.
"One thing, though- apparently the eldest goat is the bastard child of Muhammad Ali and the Hulk." ~ Exelixi, on The Three Billy Goats Gruff.I dunno, I was just tossing names at random. Pretty much any combination would be hilarious. It could even just be a chamber thing between challenges.
Though with Rey as the weakest Champion (I suspect at least) he'd almost certainly need to be traded with one of the strongest just for that comedy.
Jorge and Saren would be another "almost HAS to happen" possibility, I think.

Easing back into life one step at a timeBoth would freak, methinks.
Not even five minutes and already my challenge idea hs been forgotten.
I'll just go ahead and add it to the recap page then, let it sit there and collect dust and mothballs.
The Danse Macabre CodexSorry 'bout that, I think it sounds awesome.
"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up."I liked it (already I'm imagining one of my characters as possessed by the symbiote).
So, a classic Corruption mechanic?
I like your Challenge, Frog. Don't be Sullen.
"One thing, though- apparently the eldest goat is the bastard child of Muhammad Ali and the Hulk." ~ Exelixi, on The Three Billy Goats Gruff.Hisssssss.
The only problem I foresee with the bodyswap mechanic is whether or not we have an odd number of players, and then trying to see who gets what body.

Also, the pairs might be too similar to provide much comedy.
Kamataichi will likely be the most confused of the lot, given he was possessed..
