Okay. So seen as there is one guy as interested as I am in OC Ding on history, I'll give you what I have in so far as justification;

55 B.C. or 0 a.t.b.

Julius Caesar attempts to invade Britain, but is met with strong resistance from the local tribes, who elect a super-leader: the Celtic King Eowyn, who summarily becomes the first member of the Britannian Imperial Family. The disgrace costs Julius Caesar his chance at becoming Emperor, Rome Remains a Republic. Weakening and become a Vestigal Empire much sooner, collapsing under the weight of civil wars and opportunistic Barbarians. Dark ages begin in continental Europe, but Brittiania remains largely unaffected for several centuries and is seen as a center of knowledge lost on the continent. First suspected use of the Geass by Eowyn

6th Century a.t.b

King Arthur unites the Isles under his banner, bringing the Saxons and Vikings under his dominion. Celtic Culture is slowly blends with Saxon culture, including interbreeding as far up as among the royals within a century of the conquest. Wales and Scotland do not exist, Our England is divided into Briton, England [Small section on the East] and Juteland [North-Eastern England] similar for all intents and purposes to Scotland and Wales respectively. Suspected to possess a Geass. Founds the original Knights of the Round

Unknown year - Middle Ages

Sakuradite (known as the "Philosopher's Stone" at the time) is discovered near Stonehenge. The preservation of knowledge by Brittania turned it into a center of scholars ressembling Ancient Greece. Great minds Many aided by a Geass with this easily usable natural battery allow them to make advancements centuries ahead of their time. However, the scarcity of sakuradite impedes the research to turn it into a viable energy source. In his travels, Marco Polo journeys further into the East, reaching Japan and discovering the nation's large deposit of sakuradite.

16th Century a.t.b.

Elizabeth I, who remained single throughout her life, bears a son, Henry IX. The potential fathers — Sir Robert Dudley, 1st Earl of Leicester; Sir Robert Devereux, 2nd Earl of Essex; and Sir Carl, Duke of Britannia — gain influence and power with this knowledge. Henry IX ascends to the throne after the death of his mother in 1603 A.D. or 1548 a.t.b., starting the Golden Age of the Tudor Dynasty.

1710s a.t.b.

The American Revolution (also known as Washington's Rebellion) occurs. The Duke of Britannia bribes Benjamin Franklin with promises of titles and territories in the colonies, who was charged with appealing to Louis XVI for assistance in the American colonies' war for independence.

Thereafter, Benjamin Franklin is given the title of Earl. It is suspected that he had been Geassed As a result, the Continental Army suffers a decisive defeat during the Siege of Yorktown with the death of George Washington, marking a severe blow to the American movement for independence. Rebels flee to their ally France for shelter and support revolutionary movements there, creating a strong sense of internationalism.

End of the 18th Century a.t.b.

The western world enters the Age of Revolution, with numerous national revolutions taking place, except in the British Isles, under the rule of King Henry X, who continues to hold absolute monarchy. This leads to the formation of the Euro Universe [I am not opposed to calling this the European Union, because personally it is the first thing everyone thinks when the hear it and the original is pretty dumb sounding.]

After French revolutionary Napoleon Bonaparte emerges, with a strange and rather eccentric councilor, he wins the Battle of Trafalgar, and, upon this councilor's insistence, invades Great Britain, and occupies London. The British Isles are conquered from Britannia and become a part of the E.U.

In 1807 A.D., Queen Elizabeth III retreats to Edinburgh, where a revolutionary militia arrests her and forces her to abdicate, ending the monarchy. This event becomes known as The Humiliation of Edinburgh. However, Sir Ricardo von Britannia, Duke of Britannia, and his friend and subordinate, Sir Richard Hector, Knight of One, bring Elizabeth III and her followers to the New World and establish a capital on the east coast of North America. Brittania loses her grip on most of her other colonies, most notably Australia, India even Quebec.

1758 a.t.b.

Elizabeth III nominates her lover, Sir Ricardo von Britannia, as her successor upon her death. She ends her reign for being "the Queen who loved throughout her stormy life". The Britannian calendar, Ascension Throne Britannia (a.t.b.), is established, with the origin year set to the ascendancy of the first Celtic king. A policy of vicious expansionism using 'Honourary Brittanians' [Non-Ethnic Anglo-Celts including Slaves, Forgeinners and Native Americans] as cannon fodder, they manage to complete their "Manifest Destiny" and expand across North America, crushing the Quebec Rebels in the war of 1812, expanding their rapidly growing population across the east and eventually South America which had fallen into Chaos after the death of Simon Bolivar. Slavery ends due to a lack of slaves from the honourary Brittanian system.

1766 a.t.b.

Napoleon divided his Empire into several smaller Republics resembling Modern Day states, uniting Germany and Italy as nations. His invasion of Russia was a success; however he new his limits and, seeking to avoid the long struggle of winter stops before besieging Smolensk and St. Peter. War weary, angry, and discontent with Napoleon's surrender in the face of what they believed as their final victory, old Revolutionaries in France rose up against him again and are joined by others across Europe, including hungry and unpaid soldiers.[It is mentioned in other sources that Napoleon waged war against European Revolutionaries, presumably these were his enemies at Waterloo] Napoleon Bonaparte dies on his way back to France, after his defeat at the Battle of Waterloo; although it was never proven, it is rumored that assassins poisoned his food in accordance to Elizabeth III's will. Her last words included the famous line, "I do not forget slights to my honour."

1859 a.b.t. ''The Great Depression strikes Britannia and it's close allies Tsarist Russia and Nationalist China. Discontentment spreads among the populace who view the EU's socialized system as almost Utopic in comparison, causing several major uprisings. The Nihilist movement movement in Russia gained force, sparking a major revolution in Russia, supported directly through military intervention by then President of Germany and Chairman of the E.U. Karl Marx. The "Confederates" of the Northern Areas led by Abraham Lincoln lead a revolutionary war against the Britannians, while the Movement towards Modernisation was pre-emptively crushed by the "Boxer-Rebellion" [Or Counter-Rebellion, Suppression, etc.] who slaughtered forgienners and their sympathizers who had been ignored by the former lords of the area. Their leaders gained power and influence over the Emperor and began a Chinese cultural revival along with a war of conquest to create and Asian "Co-Prosperity Sphere".[They have wierd canon on the world wars and with all the wierd stuff in Europe this is the closest I could get to the original Timeline].

1890 a.t.b.

''Indo-Chinese War. China, backed by Britannia, conquers India despite EU and MEF [Middle Eastern Federation] support. Much of South East Asia falls as well. Australia cedes all off Island Territories. New Zealand is Surrendered to Britannia. Japan, however, rebels supported by the E.U. and Britannian Support. China does not intervene for fear of losing Britannian support and/or sparking all out war with the EU.

Brittania continues it's policy of expansion, waging smaller scale wars while the E.U. suffers from splintering and complacency.

Okay, that covers wars and such mostly, I could go into more, but honestly this was a pain in the ass to write already and took way too long.

I have an idea for an effective EU force, basically State Sec, but that will come later.

^^So I presume the italics are your additions, right? All very interesting and well put together.

I'm pondering just how we could meld this with the story of the RP, if not through outright discussion in-universe, then at least through little references here and there.

^^Yes, Italics are my stuff, which I added to throw in a few implications and at try to justify some of the weirder stuff. Most of this is to establish what would justify the Code Geass political situation and help defend the way I present countries if we ever stray outside of Japan. I'd have written more for politics but it was really late by the time I was done.

For the subject of Geass; I don't know if it will be included in the roleplay at all, and will almost certainly be multiple choice past if it is, so do not rely on notes too much.

And keep in mind that the history is written mostly from the Brittanian POV, and will omit some important details if they are not directly relevant to Brittania.

^^^I actually imagined making the EU basically the European Union with hints of the UN and heavy socialist and democratic leanings. Their army would be more of a poorly organized and heavily political force [explaining why despite being hyped as a major force they basically just crumbled under Brittania]. As above, I will likely write a political entry.

^I don't want to give much away, but when the RP starts, it will be very, very easy to cement your status as complete monster if you want to.

Politics;

Brittania: Very little to add here really, Canon said it all.

The Chinese Federation: Taiwan was occupied by the E.U. Socialist rebels, while the Nationalists held on to the mainland. For the last hundred years, the Imperial Family have held on to power supported by the Nationalists who continue to cling to China's golden age; however the office has generally been reduced to a figure head position, with the Imperial Councillors making most major decisions and merely using the Empress to add legitimacy to their rule. Very aggressive forgien policy to create an Eastern co-prosperity sphere, has led to massive expansions unprecedented since Britannia; In the most recent war, they finally conquered India, and most Pacific Isles, having led a campaign of extermination against the E.U. Menace amongst the entire Federation; solely Japan was able to slip free. However, the population of the country is aging and the divide between the rich and poor is growing. It seems likely that the China is slowly headed for decline.

E.U.: Founded on the ideals of Internationalism, Democracy and Equality it resembles a small scale U.N. and serves as Britannia's bitter enemy both ideologically and on the battle field. The E.U. would best be described as a somewhere between a confederation and a tight alliance; countries remain independent with radically different government [though most are left to some degree]. The E.U.'s military forces are divided based on nation and political ideology [This is, unfortunately, canon. The E.U. in this setting is Too Dumb to Live], this has lead to severe Interservice Rivalry and in spite of likely being the most powerful force in terms of pure economic and military might, disunity has had crippling effects on them, with some nations outright sympathizing with Brittania.

Australia: One of the more Shrewd political entities, making it the only remaining nation independent of a larger alliance. It secured this though immediate surrender to the expansionist policy of China, in exchange for maintaining their current system of government, while establishing trade routes and currying favour with Brittania. As China declined, they continued to play the two forces against each other, even receiving E.U. support to aid their fledgling democracy. Any major shift in power threatens their independence however, and the Australian people are quite nervous over the Brittanian expansion into Japan.

Japan: E.U. rebels within Japan overthrew the government and with the aid of the E.U. [and some even suspect, Brittania] managed to keep the Chinese forces dedicated to 'restoring order' out. Using the Sakuradite as a bargaining chip, particularly fear of what would happen if a single power controlled their entire reserve to keep all three nations from gaining control of the region. However, with China losing it's grip and falling into Internal conflict and with the E.U. busying fighting them on the African front, Brittania has taken the opportunity to seize Area 11.

Sorry, I think I made a few too many RP commitments with school starting. I'll try to keep up, but I may only be able to post once or twice a day.

Drama, Missing Keys and a Fever. I am kind of having the worst luck but now the internet is up. One more is out so we can wait for two more or start this now, or you know all get scared for some reason and have each of you guys drop it like a brick. Just keep in mind I'll willing to run this game through all the above.

I'm creating a new character since, this is a Re-tool. Actual this character is a port from an off site RP but the original was a writer with zealous religious father, not a Britannian purist father.

Character

Name: Arthur Byron

Gender: Male

Age: 16

Faction: Ashford Academy Student.

Equipment: Uniform, Cellphone, MP 3-player, and hidden switch blade in his wrist.

Physical Traits: Arthur is thin and stand's about 5' 8", He has short black hair that is spiked in the front. Arthur has olive colored eyes, and his skin has a slight tan but is almost fair.

Personality: A good-hearted play boy but also mysterious and easily pissed off, He has gotten good at projecting the image that he is just another noble's son.

History: Arthur was born into the Britannia royal house of Byron, his father is the lord of this house. His father is cold and Ruthless britannian purist and Knight stationed in japan. Arthur would often take care of his mother while his father would go off to fight in war's, only to be treated like nothing more than political pawn at parties during and having to watch his mother get beaten, often being hit a few times himself before his father even realized he had jumped between them. Arthur would often escape to the ghetto's while his father was away at war. During one such war Arthur meet around age 13 he was an eleven boy his age, they both had a distaste for the world they lived in, and they both loved to read and write, and they both loved something else too each other. [[spoiler: Before he knew it they we're holding hands together and he was sneaking off more and more and even sneaking him into the house. They went in secret for two years, before His father came back early from war and caught them, His father ordered his friend's family arrested but his friend was sent back to the ghetto alone, Arthur escaped to find his friend a few days later not knowing his father was trailing him, once they meet in a rage He shot his friend from around the corner saying " this is the fate of a sub-human.", His father left later that night after locking Arthur in his room. The court's would never punish a hero of war let alone one currently severing, not over a single eleven. Soon after this Arthur was transferred to Ashford Academy, as they were distant cousins and most nobility are related. Arthur kept quite about his past and made nice with the people he now came to know as scum. His fellow britannians, who praised him as the son of such a great and noble knight. He also has an addiction to sleeping pills and cigarettes. He is currently a junior their and is considering joining the student council.

Political stats: Financial Resources 1, Forces at their command 0, Prestige 2, Charisma 2.

Battle Stats: Strength 2-10, Defense 1-10, Weapons 2-10, Speed 5-10

A minor tweak is necessary with the Dad as the Purists aren't genocidal and shooting one without enough provocation looks dumb more than evil; I'd recommend having the Father try to separate the two first, only for Arthur to defy his orders and in a rage he shoots Arthur's friend.

Being an Eleven, the courts didn't want to prosecute a war hero over it.
