During the investigation of recent hollers in the Complete Monster thread, it's become apparent to the staff that an insular, unfriendly culture has evolved in the Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard threads that is causing problems.
Specific issues include:
- Overzealous hollers on tropers who come into the threads without being familiar with all the rules and traditions of the tropes. And when they are familiar with said rules and traditions, they get accused (with little evidence) of being ban evaders.
- A few tropers in the thread habitually engage in snotty, impolite mini-modding. There are also regular complaints about excessive, offtopic "socializing" posts.
- Many many thread regulars barely post/edit anywhere else, making the threads look like they are divorced from the rest of TV Tropes.
- Following that, there are often complaints about the threads and their regulars violating wiki rules, such as on indexing, crosswicking, example context and example categorization. Some folks are working on resolving the issues, but...
- Often moderator action against thread regulars leads to a lot of participants suddenly showing up in the moderation threads to protest and speak on their behalf, like a clique.
It is not a super high level problem, but it has been going on for years and we cannot ignore it any longer. There will be a thread in Wiki Talk
to discuss the problem; in the meantime there is a moratorium on further Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard example discussion until we have gotten this sorted out.

Who is the Candidate and What have they Done?

Do they have any Mitigating Factors or Freudian Excuse?
Here you discuss any potential redeeming or sympathetic features the character has, the character's Freudian Excuse if they have one, as well as any other potential mitigating factors like Offscreen Villainy or questions of moral agency. Try to present these as objectively as possible by presenting any evidence that may support or refute the mitigating factors.
Do they meet the Heinousness Standard?
Here you compare the actions of the Candidate to other character actions in the story in order to determine if they stand out or not. Remember that all characters, not just other villains, contribute to the Heinousness Standard
Final Verdict?
Simply state whether or not you think the character counts or not.

A late commentery about Ellen Berent.
Here is how I see it: In our eyes she SEEMS insufficenlty heinous, but is it possible that she is uniqely heinous enough for the standards of the time the film was made? (Mid 40’s) I think that the movie industry at the time had several policies to prevent to much brutality on-screen, so she seems like she is just heinous enough given the situation and standards for the time. But I could be wrong so Ill abstain for now.

Gelud might still count. Being a pawn for another villain doesn't immediately disqualify you, especially if you're still attempting to cause mounds of destruction for your own personal reasons.

@ACW: I mean I wouldn't really mind, if only because there's five shows in this franchise and having it go over to JAG seems a bit weird. Especially since JAG only has one CM, but the various spin-offs have several. Not much different from what we did with Arrowverse.

Hey I just found something about Frank Masucci from Law and Order, apparently he has multiple kids and when one died in a car crash he killed the driver of the other car. Could someone more familiar with the work elaborate on this.

Okay, I recently watched the 14th Episode of That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime. I would love to tempt to EP this character. But I should note that the anime? Is kind of a bit of an Adaptation Distillation of both manga and the Light Novel in general due to the intervention of the committees thus leaves several of the things in the manga and LN. So, if you ask me, the character in question is Gelmud, a subordinate of the demon lord called Clayman who intends to create a demon lord called "Orc Disaster" so that he could rule the Forest of Jura but said creation resulted on severe casualties especially 300 population of the Ogre village getting decimated thanks to the Orc Disaster itself and Gelmud willingly tries to start the war... Yeah, he's awful for his own tier.
But the issue is like I said, the anime is a mere Adaptation Distillation of the manga and the anime and it was revealed that Gelmud is a bit of a pawn of Clayman to further his plans and in the manga and the Light Novel itself? It was revealed that the idea of creating the new demon lord a.k.a. the "Orc Disaster" were the original ideas of several demon lords including Clayman and one of the demon lords, Milim Nava, intends to use the Orc Lord as a plaything for herself. This proves that both demon lords contribute to the heinous standard a bit for the manga due to the "Orc Disaster" debacle although Gelmud did this for his own volition. And that's not what even to get what Clayman did: In anime and manga, he attempts to resurrect a beast known as Charybdis for reasons and in the manga alone? It was revealed that he manipulated a witch by taking her heart because why not?
So with that being said, anyone think Gelmud qualifies? I would love to EP this guy because why not and there are several people who I think worth to look at in Slime.
