During the investigation of recent hollers in the Complete Monster thread, it's become apparent to the staff that an insular, unfriendly culture has evolved in the Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard threads that is causing problems.
Specific issues include:
- Overzealous hollers on tropers who come into the threads without being familiar with all the rules and traditions of the tropes. And when they are familiar with said rules and traditions, they get accused (with little evidence) of being ban evaders.
- A few tropers in the thread habitually engage in snotty, impolite mini-modding. There are also regular complaints about excessive, offtopic "socializing" posts.
- Many many thread regulars barely post/edit anywhere else, making the threads look like they are divorced from the rest of TV Tropes.
- Following that, there are often complaints about the threads and their regulars violating wiki rules, such as on indexing, crosswicking, example context and example categorization. Some folks are working on resolving the issues, but...
- Often moderator action against thread regulars leads to a lot of participants suddenly showing up in the moderation threads to protest and speak on their behalf, like a clique.
It is not a super high level problem, but it has been going on for years and we cannot ignore it any longer. There will be a thread in Wiki Talk
to discuss the problem; in the meantime there is a moratorium on further Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard example discussion until we have gotten this sorted out.

Do they meet the Heinousness Standard?
Here you compare the actions of the Candidate to other character actions in the story in order to determine if they stand out or not. Remember that all characters, not just other villains, contribute to the Heinousness Standard
Final Verdict?
Simply state whether or not you think the character counts or not.

From The Road to Atlas, we have Light, a far cry from his canon counterpart.
Who's Light? What has he done?
Light, the God of Creation, is one of millions of gods outside of time and space who created universes to watch over as their benevolent rulers. Unfortunately?
Well, Light would prefer if he was the only God of Creation. Upon noticing that his bro Void, the God of Darkness, was bitter over the fact that he couldn't create universes as well as others, Light manipulated him into joining him in his mad quest for power : to achieve their goal, they'd go to an universe, have Void kill Its God before Light absorbs the power in said universe's suns, leaving all of its inhabitants to freeze to death, with a ruined New York City being shown after the disaster.
Oh, and Light and Void pulled that shit in thousands of universes by the time they were caught. Because, you see, Light and Void got a bit cocky and targeted Remnant… But its God, Spectrum, was too powerful for them and defeated them. Light and Void were tried and sentenced to live in Remnant with the rest of humanity, depowered as well.
Spectrum hoped to teach them humanity… Unfortunately, Light became even worse instead. To spite Spectrum, he alongside Void eradicated Remnant's humanity. Caught by Spectrum once more, they received even worse punishment : Void was permanently sealed but Light got the worst of it, going through a painful Heel–Face Brainwashing, turning into the benevolent god we see in canon while the original, evil Light is forever sealed inside his new persona, suffering all the while.
Heinousness?
By far the worst of the story in virtue of his sheer bodycount. We're talking about erasing thousands of universes. Jinn, who's supposed to answer questions about everything, admits even she can't accurately calculate the number of universes Light and Void killed. No other villain within the fanfic comes remotely close to him.
The one person on his tier who could compete, Void, only starts committing his crimes because Light manipulated him into doing so in the first place (while Void's bitterness quickly took him over, he initially had standards against Light's plan). The fact that he shares responsibility for 90% of them - and these 90% talks about the worst of his actions - with Light helps the latter.
Freudian Excuse? Redeeming qualities?
Absolutely nothing. His relationship with Void is closer to a relationship between business associates than one between bros, and he's happy to either manipulate him into joining him or ditching him when Void expressed doubts about Light's plan.
Any other mitigating factors?
I don't think so. In the one chapter he's relevant in, Jinn shows plenty of his crimes. We see New York City getting wiped out, Remnant set on fire, countless suns being destroyed, leaving the neighboring planets and their inhabitants freeze to death, and thousands of destroyed universes. Forget Offscreen Villainy.
Verdict ?
Up to you guys. Mofo did all that shit in the span of one chapter. I'm surprised he wasn't brought up.

- Ruby and Nora, The Road to Atlas : Light, the God of Creation, is a far cry from his canonical portrayal. Wishing to be the only God of Creation, Light manipulated his brother Void the God of Darkness into helping him killing other universes' Gods and absorb their suns, leaving the universes' inhabitants to freeze to death. Having destroyed thousands of universes by the time they were caught by Remnant's God Spectrum, Light and Void slaughter Remnant's humanity to spite Spectrum after the latter punished them by depowering them and forcing them to live alongside humanity. A petty, selfish God driven by envy, Light's actions and manipulations left so many universes destroyed even the all-knowing Jinn can't accurately guess their correct number.
