There's no way you can fit the continuity of the games into the series or vice-versa. It's an incredibly well done adaption but it's not something that you can say follows the games exactly.
Besides, it's not like we've been given an alternative to who Trevor's mother is.
I want to say a bunch of stuff about how great the second season is though. I'll just. I'll just hold back until more people get the chance to watch it. It's so good.
Bleye knows Sabers.I watched the netflix series from season 1 ep 1 to the end.
Best videogame adaptation ever. My only gripe is that Hector is a complete and utter bitch. Also Isaac looks totally different but considering his old design was ehhhh anyway and how badass he is I don't mind. His last scene had one of the squickiest moments in the show since the infamous eyeball whip in S1)
Season 2 is paced slower overall but that's because it spends more time with character interactions and development, as well as fleshing out Drac's side of things which is interesting and sets up a lot for next season. Also the last few episodes are incredible.
Also this might be my favorite Dracula ever. his end wasn't flashy or awesome, but really hammered in the despair he felt and how much he's fallen. They couldn't beat him head on, but his spirit was shattered at that moment. And his VA is outstanding, he sells drac's emotions so well.
Shame on netflix for putting this under anime though. It's rare we get American(or is it Canadian?) animation that isn't comedy aimed for mature audiences.
Pretty sure Hector will be killing Carmilla next season.
Watching the Japanese dub, I could've sworn that Hector is voiced by Takahiro Sakurai...
If hector's still on Dracula's side for a while in S2 then it wouldn't be the first time Sakurai voiced an antagonist (looking at you Lan Di)
I'm quite confident in my shitposting you knowHector is the protagonist of the next game in the chronology, but it's difficult imagining him carrying a season on his own. I just hope the get to Rondo of Blood, eventually.

Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireWhy watch the Japanese dub? Just curious since it's not a Japanese show.
Hey, people, a woobie cleanup thread has opened up here.
So any volunteers?
This pretty much includes non-video game media in the Castlevania franchise.
IPP Wick Check created.I tend to alternate, it's just a quirk of mine.
Spectacular adaptation, agree that it's set a new bar in videogame adaptations in any media. Great use of continuity, they can go forward to Curse, backward to Lament, or jump to Richter/Simon or even Soma if they're crazy. 10/10, will definitely watch again.
Death is still not in the cast.
Gaibon and Slogra are. And so is Hector.
Either they're building up to something or they have some of the oddest skewed priorities in adaptation ever.
What about the woobie cleanup thread?
IPP Wick Check created.Oh yeah, for those who got Requiem. Is there a Japanese voice option? It's one of the things often asked.
Yes. Dunno about subs for Rondo tho'.
"I'll show you fear, there is no hell, only darkness." My twitterWell now. Here's something I'll be looking for. Have always wanted to play SOTN in Japanese.
I decided against buying Requiem and decided to just get SOTN on emulator. Probably for the best. The voice-acting is still very off, but it still has THAT line in it.
I'm a little disappointed by how short it can be, though. When I last played it, it took me about a week to beat it, and I wasn't able to 100% the game. This weekend, I've played for two days, and I'm up to 100% of the Lower Castle and about 50% of the Inverted Castle (more accurately, the "Rotated 180 Degrees on the Z Axis" Castle), with the Clock Hall, Colosseum, Olrox's Quarters, Abandoned Mine, and Catacombs being the last places to explore. Also, Crissaegrim makes the reversed castle cake. Kinda glad and not glad I went straight to the library to get one.
Qui odoratus est qui fecit.I always switch to the Alucard Sword for boss fights. The Crissaegrim makes walking around just more pleasant, but I'd rather feel like I'm actually part of the boss fights, you know?
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.If not for some of the cooler boss fights, the inverted Castle would've been an absolute slog for me.
"No will to break."When I first get to the inverted castle in any version, I'm actually crazy enough to grind for 2 each of the Cirssaegrim, Mourneblade and Runesword. Is anyone else as nuts as I am?
I'm quite confident in my shitposting you knowHonestly I find it a good thing that SOTN is fast to complete because its one of those games you find yourself constantly going back to every now and then. I think Somecallme Johnny put it best when he said how its a game he can just play over and over again and never feel really bored of.
Warrior to the very end! My tumblr, dood! Why does everyone want to get to Rondo of Blood when there are several Belmonts before that. Simon for example.
Rondo of Blood was the big turning point for the series, the setting the stage for the Metroidvania era. It was also the most story heavy game up to that point, and directly tied into Symphony of the Night.
A corpse should be left well enough alone...We already got Alucard and it looks like the story could go in any direction at this point with the Belmont stash of weapons. It could go anywhere really.
"No will to break."
Shankar seemingly respects Iga's continuity, so Sonia getting no mention is to be expected.
Growing up, it's like a civil war, don't turn away, it's something you can't ignore...
