Wellll, what I was honestly alluding to is that exact relationship between GVH and Snoot Game is that the later is a lot more complicated that being a Shallow Parody.

The GVH devs discord was actually full of people leaking insider info about every version of the script and the various character designs to the “Snoot Devs”, so Snoot Game is actually full of stealth mockery of the actual games real development and full plot. I ultimately expect the cleanup to become more heated when the full game comes out and it becomes more clear just how much Snoot Game is modeled on the actual plot and characters.

In what way? Drama importation is about users bringing up personal off-site drama.

It doesn't have to be personal, it can also involve bringing up some off-site conflict to stir up arguments here.

Sorry, I'm just really confused by crystalevo saying the cleanup will become "more heated" when the game comes out, when most of the discussions there have been civil.

I just assumed they meant that there'd be more to do? IDK it's weird wording tbh

Sorry for the confusion, it's kinda hard to explain in detail without going into full spoiler territory but by "more heated" I meant the talk surrounding Snoot Game in general. The main thing is that the mockery in Snoot Game of GVH ranges from bluntly direct to incredibly subtle, and a lot of seemingly 'innocent' tropes will likely be seen in a whole different light after the full release of GVH. To bring up one example regarding Snoot Game, One of the main reasons why it demonizes the character Trish so much is cause in most of the scripts she was heavily implied to be Fang's primary Love Interest. And if that stays true in the full game, I expect a lot of people will re-examine Trish's treatment in Snoot Game as a problematic Ron the Death Eater treatment of the intended Queer Romance character. Granted that's basically what it is already.

Also on that topic...with there having been no objections, I have added a note to the Sinfest entry on the sandbox page referring people to its dedicated cleanup thread. Use that for any issues that come up with Sinfest in the future, and I will post in that thread as well to clarify this.

Don't know if it's worth giving them a holler again but remember HelmetOfSalvation? Made a bunch of positive rewrites on the page for Vox Day, along with an Index page for works published by Vox Day via his site Arkhaven, and ten or so pages for several of those works, varying from harmless to very openly misogynist (Hypergamouse). When it was brought up previously and they were hollered to this thread, they vanished from the site completely, no more edits or Arkhaven pages. Anyway, they came back a month ago, didn't say anything, didn't respond to any holler, just immediately created another page for another Arkhaven comic, Chicago Typewriter.

Obviously not proof of anything, but if I was editing the site with an agenda and someone noticed, disappearing for two months and then coming back without saying anything or acknowledging it once everyone had stopped paying attention is pretty much exactly what I would do. Nothing wrong with creating a bunch of pages, but if they're exclusively pages for works published by a guy who has promoted, ad verbatim "We must secure the existence of white people and a future for white children," then it certainly sets off some alarm bells.

I was just looking through The Moral Substitute, and I noticed that the Web Original folder contains a bunch of direct links to "alt-tech" sites that exist only to promote reactionary and bigoted views. The writeup also seems to be downplaying just how toxic the sites themselves are. I'm not sure what to do with this, but at minimum we probably shouldn't be linking to places like these.

DuckDuckGo and Mastodon are both legitimate examples at least. But I agree, the rest is... oof.

Yeah Mastodon is I believe where all the Twitter refugees went, and DuckDuckGo advertises on TV. They're good.

Mastodon also explicitly disallows Nazi content since it's based in Germany, so that's another mark for keeping it out of the "alt-tech" box. Throwing my hat in too for keeping it and DuckDuckGo.

Question: since this thread is being used more as a Project thread than a Wiki Talk thread, and a similar move was done with the Character pronoun thread recently, should this thread be moved to Long-Term? Maybe renamed “Works That Promote Bigotry cleanup”?

I think that's been brought up before. No objection to moving to LTP and renaming the thread to what you suggested.

Yeah, that would be fine.

It seems that a troper named DeepRed has quietly added a number of additional items to the sandbox page without any discussion. While a cursory glance at those does seem like they might fit, for completeness's sake it's probably better if we discuss those items here.
