Complaining: They Wasted A Perfectly Good Plot

I'd be willing to start an LTP thread. Splitting would probably make cleanup easier, since there'd be an outlet for the most common misuse.

We have one for Character but not for Plot, which I think needs it even more.

Still pushing for a rename but I know that's unlikely by now... even though the Darth option is being more and more questioned.

Doesn't the characters one cover both? I assume it should, anyway.

Honestly, this indicates to me that there wasn't a serious effort at cleanup. I think it would be a good idea to at least try that before we resort to cutting the trope entirely.

Yeah, for a prolific trope maybe gutting it from Main would be a bit too harsh. At least WAI had a cleanup thread attempt. I can't find one for TWAPGP.

If the option for moving to Darth, which is currently the only one with consensus, ends up going below consensus range without any other options going above consensus range, I'm willing to make another crowner due to objections raised since the current one was hooked, but if both of them ended up failing, my preferred option would be to close this thread in favor of a cleanup thread.

Alternatively, we could just send it to a cleanup thread without running a second crowner if this one fails, if that would be preferable.

Since the plan is to still to let the crowner run for at least five days, I'll let it sit until Saturday for now.

I actually think this crowner was premature. We don't even know what the "Darth Wiki" option means because there were a lot of similar options being tossed around (with my own "move page" suggestion being for a much less restrictive fun page, not TWAPGP as-is).

As I previously said, anyone who thinks of additional options is free to add them. I can bump the ATT bulletin as needed.

Alternatively, we could just scrap the crowner now and either close the thread in favor of moving everything to a cleanup thread, since it was pointed out that it doesn't currently have one, or just run a completely new crowner (if someone is willing to compile a list of options, for the sake of making sure every suggestion is accounted for).

If we replaced the current crowner, I'd set the current crowner's ATT bulletin to private and post a new announcement.

Yeah, I don't think adding new options will help at this point. It wouldn't change the votes it already got, and we have no idea what people meant to vote for when they voted for Darth Wiki.

I guess I wouldn't mind just doing the cleanup thread thing??? I don't personally see this trope as all that viable, but we can't know for sure unless we try.

If someone could make a cleanup thread and link to it, I'll close the thread so discussion can be moved there.

To avoid a repeat of the Reality Ensues nonsense, before we kick off the cleanup thread, can we just clarify what, currently, TWAPGP could cover? And try to keep it simple, preferably.

I think as long as it explains why a certain plot element which was present in the world wasn't ever really expanded upon and/or the plot shifted in a totally different way, it can count as the trope currently. We can cut down on complaining as we go along but our priority is cutting the "fanficky" cases.

I think your description is accurate, in that it's for underdeveloped plot points instead of what-if scenarios.

I might actually have some examples for it that I never added because of my aforementioned confusion, so I might bring those up at the cleanup thread to see if I actually understand what we're doing or not. It'll help to have some theoreticals, at least.

If there's confusion over the definition, maybe it should be taken to Trope Talk before Projects. I'd close the thread if it's taken to either of those two.

It might just be my own personal confusion, admittedly. If other people are also confused though trope talk could help. That said, I'm less confused now.

I'm good with just jumping to a cleanup and if confusion arises on there then we do trope talk.

It's fine if you'd rather take it to Projects now and save Trope Talk for if the thread hits an impasse.

Made the cleanup thread in LTP!

Now that I know about Left Hanging and Fauxshadow I feel many examples could just be moved there, but sure, we can run the cleanup and try a new wick check some time later again. I'm not yet sure how we'd moderate a trope like this one.

Honestly I think Left Hanging and What Happened to the Mouse? could be merged but that's a separate thread altogether. Unless we merge them all into one YMMV item along with TWAPGP.

See, those two I get since they're objective and about the plot thread just never coming back. This one is a step further because it also requires the audience have discourse about it... I guess?

Actually, what's subjective about this again? Technically it is just those two tropes already mentioned, just... as a reaction? What?
