The Trailing punctuation in trope custom titles thread, as well as many, many discussions over the past ten and a half years, have made it obvious that we need a centralized discussion thread for page titles. I intend for this thread to be a place to both discuss titles and request they be changed.
(If you're looking to capitalize an existing wikiword, there's a different thread for that.)
Text-Formatting Rules currently reads "Text-Formatting Rules". Do we need the hyphen?
Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing.I don’t think so.
Starbucks Skin Scale did not have the possessive apostrophe earlier today, and I don’t think it needs it.

Not aware that the scale belongs to Starbucks in any meaningful sense, no.
Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing.Agggh and now it has a hyphen? Skin-scale is not a word!
~Tropers/Oxyrhynchus suggested to give LuckyCharmsTitle the wikiword of "Lucky☆Charms♥Title". I denied in order to get feedback first.
Also declined PoisonIsCorrosive being changed to "Poison is Corrosive" because I believe the "is" is supposed to be capitalized for titles.
Link to TRS threads in project mode here.Lucky Charms Title should stay as is. It doesn't need to be self-demonstrating.
As for Poison Is Corrosive, I'm fairly certain "is" isn't usually capitalized in title-case, so lowercase should be correct.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool. That Other Wiki's page on title case lists rulesets from several style guides, none of which explicitly say to decapitalize "is". A few have broad descriptors like "principal" or "major" to determine which words to capitalize in the first place, which one could argue "is" does not belong to — but others start with groups including "all verbs", which definitely does include "is".
Given the number of slightly different procedures listed there, it's probably best to just make a TVT-specific style guide for this stuff.

Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing. Why would verbs get the lowercase treatment in titles?
Taking random cases: Abduction Is Love, A Commander Is You, Adoption Is Not an Option, A Dungeon Is You, Africa Is a Country, Age Is Relative. I believe "Is" is capitalized pretty much always.
TroperWall / WikiMagic Cleanuphttps://capitalizemytitle.com capitalizes "is" in title case for all listed styles.

It appears I was wrong on what the capitalization of "is" is.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.Fanfic.Thirty Hs is still screwed up.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.~Arsenius — Your submission of "Ben 10 Actors" for BenTenActors has been rejected because you are renaming the page with the custom title. That is not allowed.
~Doug Devils Mutt — Your submission of "Aggretsuko – Retsuko and Friends" for AggretsukoMainCharacters has been rejected because you are renaming the page with the custom title. That is not allowed.
Both of you should read How to Move a Page and change the title that way.

Link to TRS threads in project mode here. Can Feral be "Fer.al" for the Video Game, since the Literature is actually just a redirect to Feral: The Story of a Half-Orc?
Or do we have to cut that redirect? Which has 452 inbounds...
Disambig Needed: Help with those issues! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13324299140A37493800&page=24#comment-576No wicks left to Literature/ means it's probably safe to make that custom title.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.I disagree. Feral is a common word and nobody would expect it to be custom titled like that in a wick.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"If another work named Feral gets a page (a few exist), we'd disambiguate, as with any other custom title collision.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.Whether or not there are currently any wicks to the Literature redirect doesn't change the fact that it is a valid title disambiguating a second work of the same name.
~Robert TYL — You submitted "Frenzy!" for Frenzy, but there is more than one article for that name.
Link to TRS threads in project mode here....well, damn.
I was under the impression that submitting a custom title change will only affect a particular medium (hence, the Excited Show Title only shows up for VideoGame.Frenzy but not the film pages)
If not, maybe I'll recreate the page under VideoGame.Frenzy 1998 or something (?) and cutlist the old one
Edited by RobertTYL on Oct 16th 2022 at 11:35:26 PM
Nope, Eddie designed it to customize every title, regardless of namespace. Otherwise you'd have to submit a separate request for each Trivia or YMMV subpage as well.
Link to TRS threads in project mode here.I guess Frenzy! (1998) sounds cool?
Or Frenzy! (PlayStation) / Frenzy! (Game) could work as well. (???)
Got it

Please discuss that in this thread.

~Vandagyre — your custom wikiword submission for Feral has been denied because there are unrelated works with the same name which would be affected by the custom title.
