Yeah it's why I'm a bit apprehensive to call the development a good thing. The problem hasn't actually been solved, the problem has just been put on these directors' shoulders to solve. It's good that they're getting actively involved in the curation process - clearly they wouldn't get involved if they didn't care - but it's not exactly fair to thrust this on them directly.
Ideally they set up everything like it was so they can phase themselves out because if not I feel like we're just right back where we started.
I know at this point it doesnt really matter since anime can be easily found in streaming but I feel glad that they have NOT messed with Toonami.

Im glad that Cunchyroll is no longer in AT&T’s hands because can you imagine what Zaslav do to all that anime WB Japan funds? In hindsight, Sony buying Crunchyroll averted a worst case scenario.
Technically, Zaslav did mess with something Toonami. It was the co-produced Shenmue anime thats cancelled because of Zaslav’s cutbacks.

Warner reversed the decision to fire the person which sparked the debacle. God I didnt know how beloved was TCM. I thought that was only on TV Tropes.

I wonder whoever put him that high up regrets their decision after Zaslav rolled down so much anti-worker and anti-creator trends that contributed to all the current Hollywood shenanigans.
On another note, wonder how much Zaslav had to pull to get all those celebrities talk about the Flash as if its the second coming because Stephen King telling me how great Flash is like entering Twilight Zone.

Gonna note that Stephen King specifically has infamously wonky taste in movies. He praises a lot of movies that are widely considered to not be very good, so him weighing in probably has nothing to do with anything.

The article linked earlier says Max still hasn't revolved the credits issue. Reminder that Hollywood is incredibly anal about how credits are handled. That oversight might be grounds to sue for breach of contract.

EDIT: Also hate being negative and rain on your parade miraculous, but Guillermo del Toro is a powerhouse. He doesnt need Warner and they wouldnt be doing him a favor and so I dont think he would even go to them.

Jason Bailey, the author of the GQ article stands by it. When GQ edited it down he demanded they remove his name and they deleted the whole thing.
Deadline is reporting that the previously reported plans to license out HBO shows to other streaming services is going ahead.
Insecure is on Netflix US now.
The agreement is co-exclusive with Warner Bros. Discovery’s Max.
True Blood, which has been streaming on rival service Hulu, will also be added to Netflix outside of the U.S.
This is so great. This does mark the point where journalism genuinely becomes embroiled in a war for integrity and art against a truly vile enemy. If they thought they helped Zaslav save face they should think again.

It didn't help that Leto's portrayal was one of the least liked versions of the Joker, full stop, that plus the jackassery doomed that version of the Joker. Note I kinda get where they were going with the character but the actual execution stank to high heavens...
