Just a Face and a Caption: Wham Shot

I think it works better for spoiler, because it shows exactly a spoiler reaction. It Was His Sled is when everyone knows the ending, and the comic has nothing of that, the only conneciton is being the Trope Namer.

This. If you replaced Lucy's dialogue with, like, "Sasuke turns evil" or "Everybody on the train was the murderer" or "Thanos collects all the Infinity Stones" it would function the same. She's spoiling what happens, not saying everyone knows the spoiler.

Also, 13 is not really a visual pun as it is a literal example (a shot with a "wham" effect). Iunno...could that lead to misinterpretation?

(A visual pun would be, like, a shot of the band Wham! looking shocked or something).

I agree that the Wham Shot suggestion isn't a Visual Pun. A Visual Pun has wordplay conveyed visually instead of verbally, which is what Spoiler's current image does by depicting a Major Spoiler. (This isn't an argument against what was said after my previous post; I'm just commenting instead of voting.)

For Wham Shot, maybe a visual pun?

I would love to put the sled picture on It Was His Sled.

And I like but the band is old enough that I think most people won't get it.

There's also something like this◊, if you want a visual pun.

I don't like the Visual Pun examples. I tend to dislike Visual Pun images in general, and it's an especially bad idea when the trope is as broadly (mis)used as the Wham tropes are. If we have an image at all, it should help the page.

I honestly might say BUPKIS for this one.

Or just something with the band's name on it. But like , I don't really like visual puns.

Yeah, of course. I didn't make that very clear, but you know I'm a stickler for differentiating "blank for now" and "BUPKIS".

Throwing an actual example into the ring. I hope it's clear enough. I think showing somebody talking on a computer then revealing it's not plugged in could surprise someone even out of context.
