I think we resort to cutting too quickly in general, and considering the No New Stock Phrases rule, I'm going to suggest we instead do some cross-wicking.
Yeah, I was thinking that if something has a bunch of OP Es but hasn’t been crosswicked, it’s unfair to consider it not thriving. I don’t think this is particularly meaningful by itself so not opposed to cutting, but just something to consider for future threads.

Same. I skimmed some of the top several on-page examples and this looks like it attracts the same sort of overly formulaic example wording that was found with the meaningless stock phrases that came up in previous threads (i.e., the examples are just variants on the trope name).
I recall In Theory just having a list of quotes with the phrase "in theory" in them, aside from an outlier that didn't amount to anything other than "theoretical scientists exist", which was still Chairs.

Could be worse
I don't really see the additional value of the stock phrase other than saying "a whole lot of them". It doesn't add to a character trait, or a story element, so I concur to cut.
