Welcome to HGS: Another Side Another Story. It is a roleplay spinoff for the Hunger Games Simulator forum game, akin to both the RP's in the Roleplaying section as well as the ITTs in Forum Games. It tells the story of the Hunger Games in the Arena of Panem, the nominators who sent the tributes, the tributes themselves both in and out of the Arena or even other people relevant to the Games. In addition, it also tells their stories beyond the Arena.
You can jump right in with any character, like your nominator self, your tributes, etc. The structure of this RP will be open-world. Don't worry about not being skilled/experienced enough or being new to RP'ing. Finally, ASAS accepts any skill level or RP style. Other than these, there are some important rules to note, which are:
- No godmodding will be allowed or tolerated here. The offending player will be given punishment depending on the severity.
- Please communicate anything important you plan on another player with the said player first. Don't just execute it without their consent.
- Don't be rude to other players, both out and in-universe. This extends to RP offenses like railroading, guilt-tripping, coercing, or other forms of forcing them.
- This RP is related to the Hunger Games Simulation:Beyond the Possibilities forum game. Thus it will have events based from that game, including the tributes. This means if you want to RP as tributes, please nominate them officially on the thread first, with misses not being counted. This has to be done after an incident with a player who hasn't joined the game itself yet.
- Since this RP is Loose Canon in relation to the main HGS thread, the host's interpretation of events isn't necessarily 100% canon. Every player has the right to deviate from what the host says and go with their own interpretations. If multiple players have their tributes involved in the same event(s), please communicate with each other so that you're on the same page regarding how you see them.
- This RP chronicles the lives of the nominators and their tributes behind the scenes. While dark plots are acceptable, the overall tone of the RP should be light-hearted and comedic. This RP is not a Cosmic Horror Story or action story about defeating evil. It is a Slice of Life comedy with some adventure to it, first and foremost. Our previous RP, Convergence, is not representative of the intended tone, and the grimdark tone of that RP is one of the main reasons it was retooled.
- Nominators and tributes alike can transform into Pokemon whenever they enter a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon World (but they can bypass this with certain items/methods or shapeshifting) or via other means outside it such as a season event, Transformation Trinkets, or shapeshifting. The players are free to choose the Pokéforms that best suit their characters and even give them color schemes outside the standard and Shiny colors, but there is a hard rule for this. If you want your character's Pokéform to be a Legendary, Mythical, or Ultra Beast, please ask the RP mods for approval. Outside the Arena, these Pokéforms are still OP, but we want to give leeway for tributes who theoretically can have them such as deities.

Detective Gamechanger's Base
A sharp-dressed man in a green suit and yellow tie is standing by the entrance of the base. He is of average height and has whitish skin, though still a bit darker. He is Billy, one of the nominators and the organizer of the party.
Indeed, after the nominators' returned and settled their problems, they decide to have fun with a party. Billy also sent invites for all the other nominators out there, as well as basically anyone else, including tributes, non associated parties, interested nominators who haven't participate yet, or even those who just wants to hang out.
The place itself in the base is refurbished for party purposes. Fancy chairs and tables are set everywhere for people to relax, as well as put food and other objects for the latter. There's also various collections showcased, including those belonging to the Detective, like his classic cars. Various themes to the base are set too, including detective noir as GC would have preferred.
Billy is now awaiting for other guests to arrive. He is also ready to give them a pleasant surprise during the party pertaining to his nation.

"Aye, thanks..." Lucian said, before looking at Oscar's whiskers.
"Hehe. I think I prefer your original one, Cap'n!" he chuckled.
Everyone then gathered on the 4th floor.
"AH!" Edgar exclaimed at Amethyst being smaller than him.
"Good think you shrunk down, right Lulu?" Alex joked, causing the "Wooper" to chuckle a bit.
Everyone then followed Ally.

Wanda, I think must become fun-sized anyway. Please give me a Mini Mushroom. (Cleo says.)
Okay, Cleo. (Wanda takes one of the mushrooms out from under her hat and tosses it to Cleo.)
(Cleo shrinks down into her mini form with the requisite noise.)
There. I am fun-sized once more. (She says, floating down onto Sidon's shoulder.)
(Veena blinks.) I-I'm sorry, what??
Mushroom from the Mushroom Kingdom, Veena! (Ball explains.) Makes you super tiny.
Oh... (Veena says.) I suppose Kay is more familiar with them than us.
(Knox scoffs.) At this point, I don't even need one of those damn mushrooms.
Hey, neither do we now that we've got our Stanford's bracers. (Joaquin says. He morphs back into his original gila monster self. Veena and Knox soon follow suit.)
Good thing I've got the best smaller form in the universe right here! (Ben says, attempting to cue up Grey Matter on the Omnitrix.)
(Ben becomes a smaller form alright, just not the one he wanted. He ends up as Ball Weevil instead of Grey Matter.)
Dern, this cute lil bug form is what you were talkin' about, Ben? (Heidi says, reaching down and picking him up.)
Hey! (Ben says, a bit indignant about being picked up.) ...well, I guess it coulda been worse, I coulda become Way Big or Humungousaur instead or something.
Based on those names, uh, I'm guessin' we should ALL be glad it didn't give ya one of those forms right then. (Kenny says.)
Aye, fair 'nuff. (Oscar chuckles.)
(Upon leaving the elevator and seeing that several members of the group have taken on smaller forms to be able to fit up here, August chuckles and looks over to Lucian as they fall in behind Ally.) Hey, Alex is right! It sorta worked out that you ended up being such a little guy when you came here, huh, Lulu?

Harararar! (Oscar laughs as well, though he does wonder a moment.) Say, eh, Phoebe, do these potions wear off?
Oh no, unlike the potion that Lyric drank, the pirate potion lasts until it is reversed either by one of what I call my "Reset Potions" or some other outside means. Stellan and I needed to be pirates for the entire day when we used them before, so I didn't have them expire like the luau one. (Phoebe says.) ...But, thinking about it, perhaps it might even be better for you both to stay in your pirate forms, at least for now. It might make it more difficult for Dark Stanford to recognize you if you just appear to be a pirate captain and his little first mate who chose to help us.
Hm, yeh make a good point. (Oscar nods. He just hopes that if Dark Stanford happens to see these two apparent strangers with the group that he wouldn't get suspicious.)
(Phoebe gives Oscar a blue-colored potion for him to put into one of the pockets of his coat.) I should still leave one of these Resets with you for whenever you two wish to return to normal form. I should mention that, based on mine and Stellan's experience, at least, the pirate potion gives you the same pirate form each time, so your pirate forms won't be lost forever once you return to normal form.
Ah, thank yeh, Phoebe. (Oscar says, putting the Reset Potion away. He figures that he and Lucian may find it necessary to return to normal form at some point anyway, whenever that ends up being.)
(Phoebe, realizing she might need to make herself smaller as well, drinks a small bit of one of her Minimize potions, which shrinks her down to just a little bit smaller than the size a Gorebyss like her should normally be for the time being.)

"Long story. Anywho, Blood Moon's got a boss? Thought he was the Big Bad."

Ally and his group enter the conference room, and the Databot assigns Bismuth and Peridot to arrange the seats and set up the overhead projector, respectively.
I would remodel my framework back to my default form and perform these tasks myself, but then I would be unable to use this chassis again for a while. But do not worry about that since I have SEVERAL other vessels I can utilize until the cooldown expires.
Peridot hands Amethyst over to Garnet and Pearl. "But don't you need a laptop to use the projector?" she asks Ally.
That will be unnecessary because technically, I AM the laptop. You shall see a demonstration once everyone has taken their seats.
The Gems then all share the same table without having to move aside for each other.
Underground Bunker/The Science Center, Recovery Room
"But didn't Miranda already imply that when she said that Dark Stanford or Raven Beak might've had a backup plan in case Blood Moon was exposed earlier?" Power asks Ichi. "But anyway, Six..."
She tells her about how Blood Moon possessed Fair Trial, and how the whole family and Ichi managed to save him. 6k1 stares at her and Ichi in disbelief.
"No wonder you asked me for the vaccines, Ichi... but why didn't you two just tell me about the problem straight away?! I requested you long ago to make a device specifically to expose evil shapeshifters like him and even tested it thoroughly, and yet...!"
She breathes heavily and imagines herself throwing her disguise revealer at the wall, but Mimi quickly nuzzles her to stop her before she can throw the crystal ball instead.
"I'm sorry 6k1, but we didn't want to stress you out further..." says Power.
"It's okay..." she says as she scratches Mimi's back, "even if I was going through a sexual identity crisis yesterday, I still would've put that aside for a short while just to save you!"

Everyone entered the Conference Room and installed themselves, getting ready for the reunion's beginning.
"Geez... We weren't that many when we had to deal with the Legion of Doom, huh." Scipion remarked.

(A cool breeze briefly enters the room as snow comes in through one of the vents and settles on a light fixture. It's Dess, of course.)
"Hey, gimme a minute to get to know everyone, 'kay, Brainy?" "Of course, but please allow me to get a word in, too, bzz."
"Mistakes were made, Six. That about sums up this whole forkin' mess."

6k1 sighs as she recalls when Ichi was being vague about why Power's immediate family moved into his bunker after he initially refused to let them in.
"Admittedly, I wanted to press further on what the emergency was, but I still trusted you in protecting them either way. I still hope you've learned your lesson, but Power... I thought it was Ichi who'd completely snap at Blood Moon when he forced Trial to attack you!"
"Well, blame my Stand for that..." says Power. "I wasn't expecting it to summon itself to try protecting me, and when I had it retreat at everyone's request, it roused me with so much determination, I actually gave him a 'Reason You Suck' Speech!"
"Oh wow, I don't recall Billy teaching you that when he trained you how to use your Stand!"

I am still Ally, and my pronouns are "he/it" in this form, the Databot tells Dick. As I informed the others here a while ago, I WOULD shapeshift back into my default Garnet body, but I would be unable to reuse this one for a while, like my MANY other forms. Please do not request me to showcase all of them to you, because under normal conditions, I will ONLY utilize them when I consider it NECESSARY for the current situation.
"And do not worry about us, either," says the actual Garnet.
"Garnet and I are still ourselves even if we now resemble Steven when he was younger," adds Pearl.
"As if their colors didn't tell you that..." Peridot snarks while testing the projector.
"Oh wow, you're still bigger than me!" The still-tiny Amethyst jumps up and down on the Gems' table and waves to the Scorbunny. She hasn't realized yet that he's still Platinum/CAC because she hadn't entered the Library yet when he was showing the others his alternate forms.

"So what are we waiting for? With everything happening, I'm not sure we don't have time." Edgar nervously asked.
"We're waiting for 6k1 and potential latecomers." Aaron answered.

"I gotta look up if Stands normally do that or if Pow-Pow's a unique case."

6k1 gets her phone and does some quick research on it online.
"There have been a few cases of Stands saving their Users from suicide similarly," she tells them.
"Wow, really?"
"Yes, because of their strong psychic bond with each other since they're tied to the Users' souls. It seems that in those cases and yours, a Stand will only summon itself that way if the User is in a particularly life-threatening situation."
"Whoa... thank Celestia I decided to get mine back after Paylor legalized using Arena-acquired abilities outside the Arena..."

"What?! You can also make your accessories appear and disappear like us?" Amethyst asks CAC.
"In case you didn't notice earlier before we looked like this," says Pearl, "we had to shapeshift our clothes into different ones so no one would confuse me, Garnet, and Amethyst for our AU selves who are with Bale."
"And speaking of them, they should be here very soon," says Garnet.
"And we still have two more special guests on our team!" Peridot retrieves her summoning device from her gemstone. "Allow me to bring them here right now if you don't mind, Ally!"
You have my permission.
And with a press of a button, Peridot summons the teenaged Steven and Connie into the room. The former is still in his usual clothes the last time some of the mons met them at Beach City, while the latter is wearing a space uniform, with her sword slung on her back.

"Hey Connie!" Bismuth calls out to her. "You still keeping that sword clean?"
"Of course!" she says.
"But what are all these people doing here?!" asks Steven as he frantically looks at the crowd so far.
"Oh..." Peridot smiles awkwardly, "sorry about that, I should've given you a heads-up before summoning you with my new gadget."
We need AN ENTIRE CAVALRY in order to stop Dark Stanford Stokes and his forces, says Ally.
Steven and Connie both raise an eyebrow at him. Even if they were briefed on the mission, and Steven is used to Amethyst talking to him in her owl form, they're unsure if they should take this robotic bird seriously.
My apologies for not introducing myself immediately. I am Ally the Databot, Caretaker of the Database, and this is NOT my default form. You may be somewhat more familiar with me if you two were summoned earlier, but we have more important matters at the moment.

Nine-Tailed Cat's division gathered at one side of the conference table, Kyte sitting on Krystal's lap to save a bit of room. Majel stood back from them, her eyes lighting up blue as her holographic projector fired up and a translucent image of Nine-Tailed Cat appeared in the room.
"Hello there," said Nine-Tailed Cat. "It seems we have quite a crowd here. Good thing I don't need physical space myself." He chuckled. "Anyway, I'm ready to get down to business to defeat Evil Stanford and his cronies."
I like cute things. You gotta deal with it.
"Never heard of Stands boosting someone's confidence, though."

Arrival at the Meeting
Bale and his group had finally arrived at the meeting on the fourth floor, however upon arriving they found another set of Crystal Gems (with Garnet and Pearl disguised as the child version of Steven, Peridot holding a miniature Amethyst) alongside Lapis and Bismuth.
Pearl: Well, this is awkward.
Garnet: I figured we'd ran into this mess.
Amethyst: Hey cool another Amethyst! Hello there little me.
Bale: And also there's-
Pearl: Steven and Connie with them?! Lapis and Bismuth.
Garnet: They're not our Steven, Connie, Lapis and Bismuth; Pearl.
Pearl: I know that, I was just caught off-guard by this.
Bale: Well, greet them or something.
Kirby: Hey there, other gem people!
Diny: I'll stay outta this.
Lucina: I will do so as well.
With Lucina grabbing Kirby and moving to the side to let the Gems sort things out while Bale and his Pokemon move out of the way too to instead join the crowd at the table of the meeting.
Amethyst: Well hello there, other Steven, Connie and Gems.
Pearl: Do not mind our unpolite reactions here.
Garnet: Greetings, other Gems, Connie and Steven. I can guess this version of Steven came here of his own volition, am I right?

The Fourth-Placers' Revenge
The Arena, Season 290
As the horn sounded, Saheeli rolled away in her Fleetwheel Cruiser before stopping by a lakeside for lunch. She was having a nice, relaxing meal when suddenly she heard Professor Frink's voice. In her surprise, she jumped into the lake, which was unfortunately infested with deadly pike, and got bitten by them repeatedly before washing into the stream. And so the Kaladeshi inventor's time in the arena was cut short.
Meanwhile, the justicar Samara found herself confronting the evil Ganon. It was written that none of women born (except possibly Link) could defeat him, but Samara was undeterred - as it turned out, she'd been born by Caesarian section. "Find peace in the embrace of the Goddess," she said as she smashed Ganon's evil face in with one biotically-empowered punch.
Later that day, Samara happened across Yesod, who had made the strange decision to eat his steak with a spoon, and gasped in horror. "That is not the implement the Code recommends," she said. She moved on, but made a note to keep an eye on Yesod in case he commit such acts again.

(July looks back and forth between the two sets of Crystal Gems in the room now.) How do they not get each other confused?
My guess is that they're used to there being two sets of themselves. (August says.) Kinda like how we're used to there pretty much being a second June.
(July looks up at the light fixture that Dess is casually reclined on.) That's different. Dess is still a completely different person from June. Aside from looking similar they're not that much alike.
...Eh, good point. (August shrugs.) Cripes, there's a lotta people in here now.
Yeah! Makes me feel better about our chances! (June says.)

Kirby, Bandana Dee, Elfilin, and Dedede are now all in the Conference room.
"You seem... interesting." said Elfilin as he sees Ally. "Hi, anyway."
Kirby looks at the various types of people in the meeting room, including one that looks familiar. "Huh?"
"How will we ever defeat this "Dark Stanford"?" said Bandana Dee.

The Arena
As soon as the horn sounds, the Witch marches with the other tributes out of the Cornucopia while singing "Heigh Ho!" They pass by Dr. Facilier, and Witch marches faster to get away from him and his voodoo. The Inventor also makes her getaway because she's also chosen as "Panem's tribute", and on the way out, the two dice then freak out at Uni eating the Cornucopia.
Unfortunately for Witch, she didn't prepare her spells properly before the season began, so she gets caught off-guard by Timmy, who shouts "SEIYA!" before finishing her off.
Meanwhile, Tornado Man gives Inventor a letter to deliver to Sailor Moon. On the way to her, Inventor curiously opens it and reads it, but she rips it to shreds.
I can't let her know that her clone was buried in a landslide... she thinks.
The Database Library, Conference Room
"But don't you need your glasses to see?" Connie asks CAC. "Steven healed my vision when I was younger, so I don't need them anymore."
"Don't ask me how I did it," he says, "it's kinda gross."
Since they were among the last to arrive, they weren't there when CAC was Platinum, who was perfectly fine even without his glasses.
The two of them then sit with the bigger Crystal Gem group, and Garnet tells her AR counterpart, "We talked to them this morning if they wanted to join us in fighting Dark Stanford."
"And even though Steven, especially, wishes that all of this never happened, he's still willing to step up to help," adds Pearl.
"Yes Bale, and don't worry about me—" he shows him his medication for his mental disorder, "—as long as I take these pills before we go out there, I'll be okay."
"And we arranged with Peridot to only summon us when our group absolutely needs us," adds Connie. "We shall be on standby here in the meantime."
Meanwhile, Ally looks out the window and sees that the season had begun while the last few people where gathering. He zooms in on Robobot Kirby and simply nods, knowing that the real Kirby is data cloned like everyone else there. He then flies above the team and does a headcount of everyone present, and once he's sure that all the attendees are accounted for, he flies back in front of them. He technopathically connects himself with the projector by putting a wing to his head, and then sending signals to 6k1's phone to video call her.
Underground Bunker/The Science Center, Recovery Room
"That encounter with Blood Moon was still life-threatening, though..." says Power.
"Well, Stands are Fighting Spirits after all!" says 6k1.
The season then begins, and Power again frowns at Iggy failing the School of Strategy.
"Better to have a flunk-out than a cheater, right Ich?" she tells him.
Meanwhile, 6k1 answers her phone and waves to everyone at the conference room.
"Ichi, I think you and Power should finish calling me on the crystal ball and join the video chat. Everyone there must be worried about you!"
"Oh, right!" says Power. "Shall we, Ich?"

"Yeah." Aaron agreed with June.
Finally, Nine-Tailed Cat joined the meeting, soon followed by 6k1, much to everyone's relief.
"Hello, you two! It's a good thing you're okay." Aaron said.
"Going to ask right away, Sixty... How in the Distortion World did you end up in a freaking hospital bed? Was it Dark Shitford and Raven Dick too?" Scipion grumpily asked.
"In this insane place, love is all that stands between us and the great beyond."
"Hol' up, what video chat?"

The Emergency Meeting
"No it wasn't, don't worry," 6k1 tells Scipion, "it was all because I stupidly followed Chara's suggestion in my dream last night to split myself into two using Dupe to visit Mom and Haze at the same time. 6k2 got severely injured by Hell's Chef at Haze's museum, and she got a surgery complication after that, so I had to share her injury when we merged. Even if Mimi healed me, Dr. Phoenix still advised a whole day's bedrest for me. That's why I'm counting on all of you there to save the Multiverse again!"
She had been meaning to tell CAC the whole truth about her cloning since he texted her while she and 6k2 were both out visiting, and now this is her chance.
"I'm really sorry from hiding that from you. When you messaged me about your birthday, it wasn't me who told you that I was busy visiting Haze: it as my clone. I was visiting my Mom too that time, and I might've confused you if I told you that right after she replied to you without signing her name. And if you saw Pop murder me in S113 while my clone was in Equestria back then, that near-repeat of the incident might've worried you too."
6k1 then moves her phone closer to her crystal ball while Ally sends a message to Ichi's phone.
URGENT: I am aware that you and Power Stroke are currently using another communication device, but please follow this link to the group video call so we can streamline the conversation.
"Yeah, that's what 6k1 meant, Ich," says Power.

Do not be surprised by the "extra" members of Steven and the Stevens, says Ally, chuckling a little, this is only temporary until the meeting has concluded.
"This still takes us back to our snow day with our Steven, right Garnet?" says Pearl.
"Definitely," she replies curtly.
"But did you really have to shrink yourself to that size?" Peridot cringes at Amethyst. "You're making me conscious of my inability to shape- or size-shift..."
"Hey, Ally said we gotta make sure we can all squeeze ourselves in the meeting room!" she responds in a high-pitched voice. "And look at me! I'm even smaller than Edgar now!"
Lapis and Bismuth look at each other and shrug.
"I think we'll stay at our current sizes for now."
"But hopefully we can all have the same table this time!"
Then please proceed to the Conference Room ASAP and follow my lead! says Ally as he flies ahead towards it.
