Personally speaking I'd rather like to avoid the page going there, and is the big reason as to why I opened up this Cleanup Thread in the first place. If we split it into sub-pages then, say if enough requests are fulfilled, we'd just have sub-pages with not enough examples and length to warrant being sub-pages, in which case they'd be improper protocol and no longer needed since they'd be made to make the page smaller and more manageable, yet they'd end up too small. While I agree that it sounds like a good idea on paper, in hindsight I feel that they'd be more of a hassle than it's worth. The page being singular is fine as is.
The storm has now resided, the wolf now rests.Such administrivia pages like these can be put to cutlist, too, and merge whatever rests on them. Really, splitting a page in half is not that much work.
I think we can't arbitrarily decide that the list is full. This Is A Wiki and all editors have the same rights and responsibilities.
We can monitor new additions to the list and find people who launched the pages, and perhaps have a look to see why they claim they need help, because honestly, if you launch a page properly, it doesn't need any further help. And yes, probably everyone hopes the page will catch on and more people will add new tropes, but it often happens that no one else edits the page. That's fine, too.
Anyway, my impression about the works on the list: They are fairly obscure, not that popular and fairly unlikely to attract many editors. We'll be lucky if people find them during some clean-up efforts.
I'm not sure what exactly your plan is for now.
It would be wonderful if the pages were expanded, and admittedly it does happen, but is anyone actually willing to watch the movies or cartoons, read the books and comics, listen to the music or play the video games... just so they can add more tropes to their TV Tropes page?
One thing that might — and should — attract some wider attention, though: there are some tropes on the list. These could be run through Trope Description Improvement Drive for a better description, or they could have a (re)run through Trope Launch Pad. It's allowed as far as I know. These must be tropes launched a long time ago when TLP rules were relaxed or even when tropes could be launched entirely without TLP (YKTTW back then).
How accurate is the Too Long warning anyway? I forget how many words are needed from after the warning triggers, to really be a problem.
If it barely triggers, then we can pull it back quick enough?
Do we have a measurement for when we can remove things off this list because they're good enough?
Ah. When they trigger none of the smaller issues listed. Right.
We could split the page into Trope and Image-based issues...
Literature. One Thousand And One Albums You Must Hear Before You Die
Uhh... Is this even tropable? It's Exactly What It Says on the Tin? A List. While it lists music we can trope... The book itself?

Personally I don't think these add anything important to the wiki. I'd vote to cutlist it.

Well, it's just us two for now voting to cut. Hold out for a third, I guess.
Characters.Seventeen Thousand Seven Hundred Seventy Six is literally the next thing on the list.
I'd think Characters pages shouldn't be on here, because if they're bad, they should be folded back into a Work page they should've spawned from?
VideoGame. One Two Switch's reveal trailer link is broken... Replace with this Official Nintendo Overview?
Air Guitar would be one of the minigames... How would we trope the Shave minigame???
I suppose if we got videos of the tutorial videos for each mini-game we can trope their animation style and stuff?

If there are character pages, those can be worked on at the character page thread, or just chopped if they're bad enough.

Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessAnd, I just found Literature. One Thousand And One Movies You Must See Before You Die
Basically the same thing but for movies, but also a lot longer. I vote to cut.
Same vote for Literature. One Hundred And One Movies To See Before You Grow Up...
Disambig Needed: Help with those issues! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13324299140A37493800&page=24#comment-576Cut away, I say.
Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessAgain, holding out for a third, but I put that on the cutlist... While dewicking, I came across these... Best to cut them all and then clean the wicks in one fell swoop, I think.
There's more such pages, like Main.Time All Time 100 Albums, and these strange set of Useful Notes:
...
Should we care about any of the British Film Institute's lists??
...
In fact, just cut the pages at the last paragraphs of description for these?

Disambig Needed: Help with those issues! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13324299140A37493800&page=24#comment-576So anyway, when I've more time, I think I'll start by compiling a list of pages I think are too decent to be on the list, and then we can discuss whether or not they are too good.
Current Project: Incorruptible Pure Pureness17776 seems pretty fine, honestly. It has a few ZC Es but it's loads better than many charcater pages I've seen. I think it can be removed from the page without doing much else.
"It's just a show; I should really just relax"Just found WesternAnimation.Santapprentice, which looks pretty bad but isn't on any of the Need Help indexes...
Disambig Needed: Help with those issues! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13324299140A37493800&page=24#comment-576You can add it on any appropriate indexes. Or if the page is hopeless, it could be suggested for cutlist.
This Is A Wiki. Not all edits require consensus or permission. :-)
So, planning to cut all those lists I listed before.
More wary about cutting the Main or Useful Notes though.
Disambig Needed: Help with those issues! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13324299140A37493800&page=24#comment-576By cut, you mean cutlist, right? Go for it.
But yeah, let's ignore the non-work pages for now.
Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessThey're on the cutlist. And the Film page also hosts an index of such cut-worthy lists at the end.
But, I guess we should get back to Needs Wiki Magic Love?
Seen some YMMV page entries there. Scrap those?
So, consensus is to remove Characters.Seventeen Thousand Seven Hundred Seventy Six from the page?
How about the other Characters pages on there?
Focus this on Works and Tropes only?

Disambig Needed: Help with those issues! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13324299140A37493800&page=24#comment-576This was added today:
- Awesome.Minilife TV: Needs examples.
- Funny.Minilife TV Also needs examples.
We don't support this, right? Audience reaction subpages are of low priority and they don't need minimum number of examples. Shall we delete it?
Not only do those links not belong on Needs Wiki Magic Love, those pages in their current state do not belong on the wiki. The funny page literally has 0 examples, and the awesome page has 3 lines of zero context. Plus, they were just created, and the troper who created them was also the one who put those links on Needs Wiki Magic Love.
SoundCloudI'll send them a stubpage notifier.
Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessOkay, they came back complaining that other people should also add to the page. I'll invite them here and see if we can actually make them understand the issue:
Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessIn my experience, paging has not been reliable lately. Direct PM is better.
Honestly, I think cutting the 1001 Movies list was a mistake. That page was in heavy use with over 1800 inbound links. Should we similarly cut AFIS 100 Years 100 Movies, BFI Top 100 British Films, The Criterion Collection, Empire The 500 Greatest Movies Of All Time, Time All Time 100 Movies, and Roger Ebert Great Movies List, as those are all also merely lists of films? What about Fantasy Films and the other films by genre lists, Films of the 1980s and the other films by decade lists, and British Films and the other films by country lists?
Ceterum censeo Morbillivirum esse eradicandum.Films by genres, decades or nationalities/languages are very useful for organizing and indexing.
Random lists compiled by critics, based on their (perhaps subjective) criteria, are... not that useful. Sometimes they might add some unique spin or be of interest, but this was literally just a list of random movies. Why was it so significant?
It can be recreated of course if more people think it would be useful.
- The difference, is that the cut lists were in Work namespaces. If any of those blue links are also in Work spaces, instead of Main or Useful Notes, note that I'm preemptively advocating for cutting them.
Creator.The Criterion Collection
What? No. I don't like this. It feels like Not A Creator. Anyone wanna convince me otherwise?

Of course people are still adding to it. Everyone wants to see their work (pages they created but perhaps did not put that much work to it) pimped up or find new fans or editors.
Locking the page is a bit extreme. That's for much more serious problems IMO.
I tried to remove some repetitive links and clutter, and the "too long page" warning disappeared. If it's up again, we can split the page in half, for example Works #-M and Works N-Z.
