Fair point, yeah.

I figure one of us can add another obstacle/enemy or just commit to the escape route option, but I'll wait to see what the others' thoughts are.

An idea that I had would be to find not an escape route but a place where to hide those that can't fight in the Looniversity room. Otherwise, there's no reason that the fights can't happen in the rooms we're trapped in, they make good battlefields. Having Lucian and Oscar to protect could be an extra challenge for the good guys. Personally I think we can start the fights in the rooms. You can easily justify those traps with Discord magic. I don't feel like repeating an escape fight again

Finding a safe hiding place for the noncombatants could work, yes. It'd add something to do while waiting for the bracer-controlled forces to show up, after which defeating and freeing them becomes the new main objective.

Alright, perhaps they don't find a viable escape route, but they do find a hideaway for Oscar and Lucian (a "no, but" scenario). However, they're still at risk of being found by the enemies, so it's up to the heroes to guard that room. The idea I had for the Looni Room people is that those escaping through the entrance are blocked by the brainwashed prisoners, who force them back inside, prompting those who found the hideaway to start hiding the noncombatants. It'll then segue into the battle proper since the prisoners will actually enter the rooms, now that Shep and Arthur are like "show yourself!" already.

Also, I'm thinking of having Discord summon two tiny clones of himself to enter two other rooms besides the room where he'll be actually fighting. These clones will only act as support chars on the enemy side, where they'll occasionally alter the battlefield, and they go down in 1-2 hits. If that's too complicated, then I can just have Discord do one last "remodeling" of the three rooms before he enters his designated fight area, and then do any further alterations there only.

Thoughts?

Just as a head's up, and I apologize for how short notice this is, but I think I am in need of another break from ASAS for the sake of my mental health. Nobody's done anything wrong, I just think I'm getting a little too wound up about this arc again and need to step away for a few days. Please don't let my absence keep anybody from posting, of course. I should be back soon.

Sorry for delaying the brainwashed prisoner fight several times, but I got really distracted by both the season and Balatro while waiting for ~Oggy 123 to reply to my suggestion on the server about the mini-Cord at the Looni Room conjuring up items that Kirby can inhale for Copy Abilities (and if Oggy is only sticking to the canon ones since spitting out star projectiles is also an option for Kirby). At the very least, the Corrupted Quarters section is finished, but with NTC's understanding, I decided to hold it off until I finish all the sections so that one side of the fight won't end up outpacing the other.

I will be busy on Good Friday night, but hopefully there should be enough downtime for me to finish the write-ups for the next part of the battle.

Alright, the scouting team outside the lair is not just looking for additional escape routes for the prisoners besides the telepad inside the jet room, but they're also looking for ways to transport them outside ZDR, before it inevitably gets blown up (but they don't know that yet). KB and I are planning to have them transferred to either the Pirate Book, the Science Center, or both, but regardless, the prisoners and any noncombatants must be out of ZDR before it explodes. Thoughts?

I think the Pirate Book would be the best choice. The Science Center won't be possible because for that, you'll have to bypass ZDR's anti-teleporting system, which is still working, and it will keep working even after the villains are down (to justify the escape sequence), and that, up to the last moment, unless we decide to skip the escape sequence and just have everyone teleport away before the planet blows up.

Either that, or maybe the non-fighters could be brought outside of ZDR right away once Raven Beak and Dark Stan are down (the Dream Realm, Science Center, etc...), but the others would stay behind to ensure the X would not escape (basically destroying the remaining spaceships and any other way for them to leave the planet) until last moment.

I'm okay with the Pirate Book, too.

I was thinking less a teleporter and more a spaceship or other vehicle to get the prisoners and other noncombatants off-world. Basically, anyone who isn't fighting Stanford and Raven Beak would get aboard, and then it could launch without the combatants to allow the escape sequence to proceed as planned for them. I think it'd be good from both an in-universe and out-of-universe logistics standpoint: From the characters' point of view, they won't have to protect a bunch of civilians and wounded on a hostile planet the whole time, and from a player perspective, it means we don't have to juggle nearly so many characters during the final showdowns.

Fully agreed. I also considered that idea but you beat me to the punch. The scout team could find a mawkin spaceship and have it escape the planet early with the bulk of the civilians/wounded (while avoiding the roaming parasites). If there are other prisoners who would remain or fighters who are wounded afterward, the Pirate Book would work perfectly as a temporary solution until the fighters are out as well.

Alright, I can go with the scouts finding an abandoned spaceship for the prisoners, but since there are millions of Altfords to be rescued (no really), I'm thinking that the Equestrians board the ship while the Altfords hide in the Pirate Book since it's a Pocket Dimension (but hiding them all there risks Dark Stanford finding them there so easily). Is this good or any other suggestions?

Yeah, hiding them away in the pirate book works for me because there genuinely is that many Altfords and they obviously can't all fit inside a Mawkin spaceship.

Nobody has to tell DS that the Altfords are in the book anyway.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to finish the fight post before my trip, which will be early in the afternoon and I need to try to sleep earlier than usual. But fortunately, all that's left is the Looni Room section, but be warned: things will seriously go From Bad to Worse for CAC from that post onwards. I'll see if I can try finishing it up on mobile while traveling, but I can't make any promises.

Due to a site bug that's preventing folders from opening if a stickied post has one, I had to remove the folders in my last post. If anyone has folderized their posts in the past few pages, please remove them in the meantime.

EDIT: The [[foldercontrol]] markup bypasses this bug by opening all the folders including the stuck ones, but we still recommend unfolderizing your posts until it's fixed.

I intend for Twilight's petrification spell to miss, but if anyone wants their hero to get hit, please let me know, because they will be freed after the battle.

So for the sake of moving things a bit faster, Scipion had the suggestion of merging the fights with RB and DS together somewhat. On the one hand, this would move us closer to finishing this arc, but on the other, it could potentially result in a bunch of things all happening at once (which includes RB stealing the Hypnos Stone, Light Stanford being kidnapped by RB, and the deaths of two major characters (though one of them will end up being a Disney Death)).

Does anybody have any strong feelings toward this or any suggestions? Should we try to roll with this or continue as originally planned?
