Character pages are a large chunk of the wiki, but they're often filled with problems that don't get resolved. These problems include:
- Zero Context Examples
- Indentation problems, including bulleting tropes under supertropes or tropeslashing
- Spoiler tag misuse
- A lack of alphabetization
- Empty character folders
- Plagiarized character descriptions
- Misused tropes, or tropes that don't belong on character pages
- Broken or incorrect formatting
- Subjective / Trivia trope mentions
Per How to Create a Character Page, character pages should only include tropes that describe the characters. These tropes should fall under Characterization Tropes or one of its related indexes, Unless they're recurring character traits (distinctive things that the character does repeatedly). If you're unsure what counts as a character trope, you can ask about that at Are These Character Tropes.
All characters must have at least one contextualized trope for their section or folder to be visible. If you find a character that has no contextualized tropes present, comment out the entire section and add this tag:

- Inanimate objects and locations on character pages have their own cleanup thread
- Character pages for Reality Show contestants are on-topic here, but there's also a dedicated Reality Show cleanup thread which deals with the No Real Life Examples, Please! grey areas these shows create, and may sometimes be a better place to discuss them.

Characters.South Park Phone Destroyer is just a list of playable characters. Should we try to salvage it by adding things like individual game mechanic tropes or just send it to the cutlist?

I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe. As it is only a few weeks old, the first thing to do would be to PM the page creator (ykSora55) and explain to them that they shouldn't leave pages like that. I personally wouldn't put game mechanic tropes in character pages unless they are unique to that character.
Knowledge is Power, Guard it WellCharacters.Yu Yu Gi Digi Moon has some major issues. I've already sent Characters.Yu Yu Gi Digi Moon Special Characters to the cutlist since none of the characters listed had any tropes with context (many with no tropes at all). The same issues show up on many other pages as well; at this point, I'm thinking it might be more reasonable to just delete those "examples" outright, since in many cases, there won't be enough characters left to justify separate pages, so they'll likely have to get merged (and is there really any point transplanting characters with no tropes/one context-less trope?) Plus, it seems like most of these were last edited in 2017, not counting grammar or administrative edits, so it's not like these characters are actively being updated and given tropes or context.
Should Kid Cosmic be cut? It looks like only three of the entries are not ZCE, but at the same time, the show did just come out today, so I don't want to be too hasty. I haven't seen the show myself since I don't have Netflix; otherwise I'd try to expand the entries instead.
SoundCloudThree entries with context is enough to keep.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.OTOH, characters pages are extensions of the main pages and personally I don't think they should be made unless there's enough tropes to justify having the split.
Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessYeah, keep Characters.Kid Cosmic, as it should be expanded soon.
Is Characters.Disney Princess even worth keeping? I just merged the subpages together as it just consists of links to other pages, since Dragon Quest Z moved their tropes to their movies' character pages in 2015 per this ATT query.
Keet cleanupPerhaps you could reorganize it to be like the MCU and Star Wars “individual works” pages?
SKREEEEEEEONK!Putting Characters.Riseofthe Believers here so I can remember to tackle it. Sometime.
The page itself. I guess the capitalization as well.

The page itself, or the capitalization?
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.I have a suggestion regarding Comic Book superheroes with more than one secret identity due to being a legacy character: A superhero who is a legacy character should have the other characters taking up their mantle listed on Characters/TitleCharacterTheCharacter while identities which have enough tropes to be split from the primary page should have their own page.
IE: Tropes for Peter Parker need to go to Characters.Spider Man Peter Parker. Other Spider-Man identities need to have a folder on Characters.Spider Man The Character, or their own character sheets.
Additionally, any characters who have their character tropes on the Comic Book namespace need to have their character tropes moved to proper character pages.
Or do Characters.Spider Man Miles Gonzalo Morales and Characters.Spider Man Peter Benjamin Parker. This could easily be solved by including the middle names of the characters where necessary.

Rawr.Which means Miles Morales goes on Characters.Spider Man Miles Morales, displacing the video game by that title somewhere else?
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.I guess that works.
Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessThe more I think about it, the more I feel like Characters.Spider Man The Character should be a index page between Pete, Miles, and whoever else had taken on the role of Spidey in the comics.
Rawr.Dragon Project: Some folders have nothing but textbook ZCE's (some spoiler tagged), the bottom ones have nothing.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportFrom Characters.Saga Of Tanya The Evil, the character folder for Tanya Degurechaff is too big. It is warrant to get a separate page.
"I SHALL UNIFY THE WORLD! FROM ALPHA TO OMEGA... BOW DOWN TO ME!!!"Characters.Saga Of Tanya The Evil Tanya Von Degurechaff <— copy her character sheet, paste it into that page, then cut it from the main page.
Jawbreakers on sale for 99¢I just noticed that the Characters page for Guilty Gear -STRIVE- was red-linked due to being a part of a cutlisted work, which was cutlisted for being a stub. But the page had two playable characters from that game in it, as well as having a demo that ended a few days ago. What should be done?
Characters.Survival Of The Fittest V 3: across all of the subpages, there are maybe 10 characters with tropes. But all 200 ish characters have a writeup along the lines of
I was planning on moving the characters with acutal tropes to a single page, but it kind of seems like a waste to just cutlist the stuff that's left. At the same time, it seems ridiculous to just hide the tropeless folders, since you'd be left with maybe two characters per page...cutlist it is, I guess? Or are there other alternatives (and no, I don't know the work, nor do I particularly care to get into it)?
Alright, so this is a bit different. I'm doing an overhaul of Characters.Friday Night Funkin over at FNF Characters Cleanup: among other things, two characters were treated as one individual (while understandable, they're confirmed to be separate entities), and there was misused examples and overuse of Word of God.
I plan on swapping it tomorrow, and I'd like some extra eyes on it in case I missed anything.
Jawbreakers on sale for 99¢Characters.Person is a character page for a webcomic that doesn't have its own works page, and none of the quote-unquote tropes are properly contextualizd or even actual tropes. What should be done?
Absolute destiny... apeachalypse?Orphaned character page. Instant cut for that reason alone.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.see, I was thinking protocol would be to move the tropes to a Webcomic page, but when the page is presenting things like Hoe and Not A Sexy Person as tropes without even trying to wikiword them...
Absolute destiny... apeachalypse?
It depends on the trope. I have moved tropes that compare characters (such as Red Oni, Blue Oni, but I am not sure if that is a character trope) to the main page as it isn't tied to either character individually. The same with character relationship tropes such as Battle Couple. If the character page has a section for any group that the characters belong to then it could go there instead, but again it depends on the trope.
