That could definitely work.

I think as far as the ROCEJ, we have Prescriptive vs. Descriptive Language as well.

I edited it to be about Corrupt Politician and added the ROCEJ example. I think we're good here, if everyone else agrees.

couple of other suggestions for See Also:

• Not Self-Explanatory - No matter how obvious a trope name seems, it is not exempt from needing context. Even if you think it's obvious how it applies, write it out anyway; if it's really that obvious, it shouldn't take much effort.
• Fan Myopia - Your favorite work is so amazing and popular that surely everyone will immediately recognize how this trope applies! There's no need for context, right? Wrong. No matter how popular a work is, there will always be people who aren't familiar with it. Write out the context for their sake.

I'm still convinced that Not Self-Explanatory is redundant to this page.

It may be, but if it is we can just remove that part later. I think Raz's suggestions are good, otherwise.

ill put them in in a bit, and alphabetize the list while im at it.

I still prefer ordering by relevance, putting the ZCE cleanup page and thread at the top of the list.

To be clear, the reason I feel this rewrite is necessary is that the current page is clearly a holdover from when the wiki was in a much different place. What were common mistakes then are uncommon now, and I feel this version does better to reflect the current state of the wiki.

We do need this. The current version of the page makes no mention of the ROCEJ.

The page looks really, very well-done. Great job!

The only thing I feel should be used in the new page is a mention of the dialogue iteration of zero-context examples. Perhaps something like?

• Corrupt Politician:
  Citizen: "How are you going to vote?"
  Anna: "Who's paying me this week?"

As the current page notes, this very rarely could be acceptable (probably caveated for Dialogue tropes), but is a ZCE magnet otherwise, and even in those cases is bad form.

Just a note that this will get run past the other mods first, before any swapping out. I don't think it'd get much editing, though.

Oh yeah, can't believe we forgot the dialogue type. That should definitely be added if it hasn't been already.

while we've got you here, ~nombretomado, id like to just make sure we have the staff's blessing to go ahead with this project and fix more of the Administrivia pages. there are numerous ones with issues. several of them are mentioned in the OP, and there are others as well, like Word Cruft and Square Peg Round Trope being in the Main/ namespace when they should be in Administrivia, and Creating New Redirects being out of date. ~Septimus Heap told us that the mods don't bother updating the pages for every little policy change, but a lot of these policies have had a lot of little changes, and that adds up to big discrepancies. i think this thread makes it clear we're willing to help yall out with the work.

Go for it. It's certainly something I (and other mods) would like to do, but real life obligations + day-to-day modding doesn't leave much extra room. All the pages will pass through us, though (I doubt anyone though otherwise, but just putting it out there).
