Hm. The image (selected by IP) has Calvin cracking an egg high above the skillet, and the page has a "non-video game examples" folder where most examples at a glance aren't character seeking challenges while playing video games. The title isn't particularly video gamey, either, so I think it should keep accepting non-video game examples.
Ah, this thread is still open... I really regret making Pacifist Run, Stealth Run, and No-Damage Run YMMV, because these are very often objectively encouraged and rewarded by the game, therefore not subjective or self-imposed.
What I SHOULD have done is vote to move whatever self-imposed examples these tropes have to Self-Imposed Challenge, instead of making the entire tropes subjective.
Yeah, those aren't necessarily self-imposed and maybe shouldn't be on the index.
I've actually had second thoughts about having anything to do with this thread. Would it be possible to revise the decision to just apply to Self-Imposed Challenge itself? If the subtropes do need something done, it would probably be better to save them for their own threads.
Edit: Tweaked wording to indicate that I meant giving the subtropes one thread each (I originally put "thread" singular, but I feel that was unclear).

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.I think the discussion was heading in the direction of "subtropes" like Pacifist Run and No-Damage Run aren't really subtropes, i.e. they're encouraged/imposed by the game, not the player.
I would like to remove the index tags from Self-Imposed Challenge.
Why Self-Imposed Challenge's indexing? Removing the pages from Audience Reactions (and YMMV Redirects in any redirects' case) would be the thing to do in this case.
That said, revising the list on Self-Imposed Challenge might not be out of the question.

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass. That of course, but I think indexing on Self-Imposed Challenge suggests the tropes therein are all self-imposed. And I think it's odd that a YMMV index can have objective tropes, but if that's actually fairly common, then never mind.
My only concern is when you're trying to describe a lets player doing the Self-Imposed Challenge. You have to slap "in universe" on it, which doesn't really make any sense to me. It's still a trope of a fan doing a challenge.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessSelf-Imposed Challenge itself is staying YMMV (Challenge Run was launched for when the game itself provides the challenge), and since subtropes of Self-Imposed Challenge, the main Challenge Run trope, and any subtropes of Challenge Run probably wouldn't apply to things like let's players doing Nuzlockes in Pokémon or using Game Genie codes to make every enemy in Super Mario Bros. throw hammers, you'd have to label those as In-Universe or use the [[invoked]] tag either way.

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass. So, we're in agreement to move the sub-tropes back to being objective? I mean, it was a mistake that moved them to YMMV in the first place, I don't think anyone can honestly argue that they're better there.
Okay, if no one objects, I'll move the subtropes out of YMMV.
No objections.
Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.
I removed Pacifist Run, Stealth Run, and No-Damage Run from Audience Reactions. Now, to move the wicks back to the main work page...
I'm done moving Pacifist Run out of YMMV pages.
Stealth Run didn't have any YMMV examples, and No-Damage Run only a few. So now all three are done.
Clock is ticking to see if there's anything left or if we have any takers.

Crown Description:
What should be done with Self Imposed Challenge? Options are not mutually exclusive.
Right, I'm saying that the challenges he does aren't video-game related. The "beating minecraft while running a marathon on a treadmill" is the closest he gets to a video-game challenge. It's not an LP at all. I get what you're saying, I think, but I have to clarify that we aren't talking about Lets Plays right now.
