I think it can be expanded into two tropes:
- A&E plot: Any circumstances where two (and only two) characters attempt to breed a race based on their genetics.
- Colony plot: (might be super trope to A&E) Any number of characters trying to build a new society without access to additional colonists.

Link to TRS threads in project mode here.I actually think the current trope is tropeworthy enough on it's own. I think the trouble might be the name and not the trope itself.

Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI don't think the name is a problem since the Book of Genesis has some degree of Pop-Cultural Osmosis.
I feel like the description needs to be ironed out. It's rambly.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?Yeah, but the very fact that the Trope Namer is included when the example doesn't fit the plot tells me that the title misleads people into thinking it's any time when one man and one woman have to populate everything.
Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessThe original Adam and Eve plot also falls under Creation Myth, and surely there are more examples of those to be found in other religions.
I agree that the current trope namer is not an actual example of the description. I think the best thing would be to make this trope a super trope, and make the postapocalyptic version into a subtrope.

Optimism is a duty.I like the idea of having a supertrope and its specific subtrope. However, are there enough distinct examples of both concepts?
I agree with the supertrope+transplant idea, especially since the Trope Namer clearly doesn't take place After the End.

Clock is set.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanThread seems to have consensus on splitting into two tropes:
- A&E plot: Any circumstances where two characters attempt to breed a race based on their genetics.
- New name: A mating pair are both Last of Their Kind due to being set After the End. They attempt to recreate their race by getting pregnant.
I can set up a TLP for the latter.

"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanSupporting Adam and Eve Plot as the broader supertrope and the current post-apocalypse-specific trope being under a new name as well.
There's a TLP draft which seems to be covering the concept we're discussing broadening Adam and Eve Plot to.
"It's just a show; I should really just relax"That draft seems a bit more specific in that it's about creation myths.
What examples would be neither Creation Myth nor post-apocalyptic?

Adam and Eve Plot for some reason is specific to post-apocalyptic settings. Then there's the actual Adam and Eve example there (from the Bible) even though it ironically doesn't fit.
I'd love to change the description to make it broader, but I guess I have to go here and talk first.
