Ultra-Violet

Identity: Violet Orthros, high school student, secret

Abilities:

  • Instant transformation (note: she can use her powers in normal form, this only changes her clothes)
  • Sunburst: concentrated UV ray blast. Most living beings would just get a case of (painful) sunburns from it, but creatures such as vampires will take a lot of damage. Conversely, plant creatures will be invigorated by them.
  • Resistance to Radiation
  • Ultra-violet vision: can see in the dark.
  • Darklight: can cause creatures and objects to glow temporarily. This helps to track them in the dark, make invisible beings visible, etc.
  • Flight, top speed unrevealed

Weakness: Violet must be exposed to Sunlight at least for an hour each day for her powers to recharge.

Appearance: 17 years old, long black hair (purple as Ultra-Violet, its an UV effect), violet eyes. In costume [1]

Personality: As Violet, she's very shy. As Ultra, she allows herself to be more bold and happy-go-lucky, though she still has some self-confidence issues due to lack of experience.

Background: Violet is the daughter of immigrant Greek parents. Her father is a scientist who was doing research into a type of solar-powered energy generator. One day, Violet decided to visit him at his laboratory. It turned out that was the day the generator was being tested. It exploded, and Violet was irradiated. However, she recovered with no apparent ill effects.

She soon discovered she had gained superhuman powers! Elated, she created the Ultra-Violet identity to try them out. At first she merely used her powers to glow to hide her identity, but after saving the owner of Clotho Fashions she was given a super-suit that changes with her Powers. She's still one of Easton's newest heroes, with very little experience under her belt.

Depth Charge

  • Identity: Aurelia Trenchold, TALOS Agent, Identity on a need-to-know basis.
  • Abilities: As a mermaid, Aurelia is amphibious, able to operate on land by slithering on her snake-like tail. In addition to this, Aurelia possesses the ability to generate explosive bubbles of varying potency, which she can freely control and detonate.
  • Appearance: Aurelia is a mermaid, and as such is hairless, breastless, and covered in scales, with a vaguely serpentine tail nearly three times the length of her upper body. Her scales are blue in coloration, with a dark hue on her tail and a lighter hue on her upper body, and a crimson tint to her fins. As a mermaid, she rarely wears clothes, but she does wear a dark brown wig, wigs being a common trend in mermaid fashion.
  • Personality: Aurelia is normally a fun-loving jokester, but she has a serious side when the chips are down, and a strong determination to protect people.
  • Background: Aurelia was hatched in the Atlantean city of Alarra, about 200 miles off the coast of Easton. Her childhood was fairly normal, but as a young adult, she manifested a mutation in the form of her explosive power, something that was almost unheard of among mermaids. Seeing herself as a freak, she fled her home and made her way to the surface, where she moved from place to place with no real idea of what she was doing or what she wanted. After coming across a terrorist assault by chance and using her powers to stop it, she came to the attention of TALOS, who swiftly recruited her and gave her the sense of belonging she had unknowingly needed. Currently, she serves as TALOS’s resident demolitions expert and aquatic assualt agent, stepping in when something needs to go boom, they need someone underwater, or both.

Her tail makes her twice as long as the average human, that makes it impossible to disguise herself even with a wheelchair. Other than that its OK. Just give her a shorter tail and she's approved.

Infra-Red

Identity: Rose Ferrington, Villain, High School student (secret)

Abilities:

  • Infra-Red Rays: Can project intense heat, enough to cause severe burns or set flammable objects on fire (but not enough to melt metal.)
  • Red-Hot: She can make herself hot enough that she visibly glows; again, hot to the touch but this will not stop bullets or the like.
  • Flight: top speed unrevealed
  • Infra-Red vision: Can see in the dark.

Weakness- Cool Down/Warm Up: Can only use her powers for several minutes before she runs out of energy. She must rest for an hour for them to recharge.

Appearance: 17 years old, short red hair, brown eyes (that glow red as Infra-Red) Her costume is a red one-piece bathing suit with the letters I and R as a chest insignia; long gloves and boots, wears a domino mask. [1]

Personality: Short tempered. Driven by jealousy and (secretly) feelings of inferiority.

Background: Rose was born to a wealthy family. That only exacerbates her feelings of inferiority- she has always felt like she has to struggle to meet her parents' demands, to be accepted by her peers, etc. Unlike her classmate Violet, who became a wallflower under similar stress, she developed a short fuse, earning her the nickname "hot-head."

Then she met Hikari, a transfer student from Japan. She crushed on him *badly*, but he only had eyes for Violet. The latter felt she wasn't good enough for him and tried to avoid him, but all Rose knew is that Violet was "stealing her man." When she noticed Violet tended to slip away with no explanation for periods at a time, she started stalking her, and to her shock, actually spied on Violet turning into Ultra-Violet! This was the last straw- her "rival" was a super hero! How to compete with that? There was only one way: she had to become one herself!

The fact she had no powers was no obstacle- one thing she learned from her parents is that with money, anything is possible. One Dark Web internet search later, she found out about a supposed "Powers Broker" who, for the right fee, could give you powers. She arranged for a meeting with this unknown individual. She's still not quite sure what he did, nor does she really care- the important part is that she now has powers- Heat Powers!

Creating the Infra-Red identity, she confronted Violet and demanded that she leave Hikari alone or she would attack her! Violet's attempts to convince her that she had no plans for the boy fell on deaf ears. They fought, their battle ending on a draw when Red ran out of energy. Violet asked Rose to please not tell anyone her secret, but Rose told her that this is just between the two of them. Their rivalry, social and heroic, continues.

The Scion of Kraneia

Name: Mark Smith.

Codename: Evergreen.

Race: Human.

Alignment: Villainous.

Gender: Male.

Powers:

-Nature’s Corruption: With a wave of his hand, a legion of darkened black roots and vines spring from the ground, cracking concrete and slithering through the dirt as they break free to obey Evergreen’s command.

Strong and hardy, these vines can be directed to attempt to grab, restrain, and choke the life from any creature unfortunate enough to draw his ire. They are vulnerable to fire, but attempting to burn them may cause harm to those trapped by them. They can also be commanded to form walls, hold things up, and do other minor things.

-Dark Blessings

The area around Evergreen is constantly under assault from the corruption that boils within him. Nearby plants slowly wither and die, and he can cause rot and decay with a touch. Anyone with any connection to nature or the divine can easily sense that something is off about him, although it isn’t immediately obvious what unless Evergreen is showing off his powers.

-Avatar of the Dark Wild

Kraneia’s “blessing” has infused Evergreen with dark energy. His body has rotted away, only to be replaced by an amalgamation of vines and black wood. Evergreen can cause himself to look human with a simple thought, and can even appear to be wearing clothes to others; in addition, he can summon a spear made of black, corrupted wood and bark that is as hard as steel.

Lastly, he can break apart and disperse, slithering into the ground to escape what some might call certain death, only to reform later; but this drastic of measures indicates that something has gone very wrong with his plans.

Weaknesses:

-Thing of Wood and Bark and Thorns: As one might expect, a being made of wood and vines is very susceptible to fire. As powerful as Evergreen might be otherwise, flame is his Achilles’ Heel. Whereas other weapons might fail to injure him, fire is easily the best weapon to use against Evergreen, and one of the few things to terrify him. If enough fire is used, it could even kill him.

-Unnatural

Simply put, Evergreen is not normal. Although he can pass himself off as a human, close examination reveals that he doesn’t breathe, and that his blood is not red, but a dark black sap. In addition, his presence simply feels wrong to those connected with most deities or Titans, and he can be easily detected by anyone with a connection to nature or a nature deity.

Backstory:

Evergreen used to be a normal human with a normal life- save for one thing. His younger brother, Jack, was terminally ill. Despite having the best medical assistance available to them at the time, they were unavailable to afford the services of any super with magic or powers strong enough to heal him. So Evergreen looked for a different option.

Eventually, he found what looked like a solution- a cult, as it was, of people devoted to a Goddess of Filth and Disease. They called themselves the Knights of the Goddess, in fact, as stupid a name as it might have been. Although their extremely strict lifestyle put him off somewhat, the hope that they had a cure for his brother was enough for him to seek out their leader and attempt to join. They didn’t have a cure.

After a violent altercation with the High Paladin of the Knights of the Goddess, Evergreen turned away, rejected and angry. In desperation, he found a more unsavory source- Kraneia the Dryad. After being corrupted by the dark magics of The Shadow, she had been twisted into a shadow of her former self… but a powerful shadow nonetheless. Making a pact with her, he agreed to act as her agent in the modern world in return for the power to save his brother and take revenge on those who scorned him.

He’s accomplished the former, and he fully intends to accomplish the latter… by any means necessary.

  • Identity:
    • Name: Mahvash 'Matten' Mattiuza
    • Status: Anti-Heroine
    • Secret identity: None, though her host's name (and now one of Matten's names) is Philomene Philps. And while divs in her time had no given names, her 'host family' did take to calling her Mahvash and Mattiuza, Matten being a later nickname that stuck for a while. She has other names, but those are her favorites.
  • Abilities:
    • Powers:
      • Possession: Matten needs no sustenance and moves without tiring. Otherwise, Matten's strength is that of whatever body she has. She's also not much faster, but has a peculiar way of getting around, i.e. just appearing when no one's observing her. Nonetheless, while she has it, it's her body and she has complete control of it from self-repair to Detachment Combat. As she gains a following, her power over bodies (and a share of her aura as both force field, toughness, serene mind, and damaging touch) spreads to people with her mark. About that, people who succumb to her have a hard time converting as her presence becomes mesmerizing and addictively becalming to those who share their souls with her...
      • Evocation: As for powers though it depends on delivery, Matten can copy the power of whoever shows up in her mirror and grant it to someone nearby or to herself as long as the subject is reflected. (The transfer only works as long as both persons are in her mirror). She can curse people with misfortune by the same means. (That sticks).
      • Khvarenah: Matten can offer a "false healing", that is, an injured person's body continues to work and Matten's darkness drowns out pain and distress allowing the afflicted person to continue a fight or get to the hospital. Being an eldritch entity, injuries to her host loose poisonous fumes, but Matten's Khvarenah (aura) is always there, making her person 'poisonous' (or restorative—it's how she "heals"), but she usually uses it as a medium for subtle motions. As she settles more in her body, she can mold her aura into shapes from ethereal tentacles to tangible (and very large) phantasms, including her true form's 'wingspan'. Still, her poison isn't even the primary thing her Khvarenah does, As a medium, Matten uses it to connect to the greater universe, manifesting in a power over The Sacred Darkness, producing effects form clairvoyance note  to teleportation portals between the worlds at severe strain. Even without tuning out, Matten's presence can fill a large area...
      • Durability: Nullifying attacks, light powers generally, and projectiles won't reliably bring her down, and Matten's true form in particular is saturated with her Khvarenah in addition to her strength, and is much tougher than it appears at first glance. In her true form this extends to strength proper, but still only at pace with a strong human.
      • Senses: Matten's dominant senses are somesthetic (touch-based), in any case, but connection with mastery of sacred darkness expands them considerably. Matten uses the darkness to extend her sense of touch, feeling out quite accurately what's present in darkness connected to her (or her followers, see below); she can feel out the aura/residue of the souls of people, including the presence of say, divine (or fiendish) patrons clinging to their clients; may 'remotely' use the sense of people who give her permission to (like her followers); can sense entreaties directed at her (even without permission to share senses); and has a sense of anchoring, that is knowing exactly where she is in spacetime (for navigation or otherwise), by using her followers, the surroundings, and things she's touched and left her own residue on as buoys.
    • Weaknesses:
      • In a lesser form, Matten is no stronger than whoever she is possessing in her sealed form, and truth is anathema to her (i.e. she's much weaker when being observed by the observer's dominant sense—which ever assures them of what they're observing).
      • Matten further shows no signs of being alive. That is, without regularly breathing, she easily misses early warning smells and tastes. The same thing with eye movements. Matten has some severe tunnel vision, missing things even right next to her unless she's on guard. As mentioned, she's very touch-oriented, and this is extended by darkness and uncertainty. Foreign observations and light can stymie her own observations.
      • Psychologically, and perhaps most importantly, one might need to explain the difference between good and evil to her in varying situations. In short, she is very versatile, but her full power is stymied by everyday things, like people looking at her and denying permission to use their souls.
      • Holy Burns Evil—And something she would never mention, but anyone with a moderate knowledge of Zoroastrianism would know, Atar (holy fire with the presence of aša is anathema to her (and any daeva) as both a perfect shield from (direct application of) her abilities and capable of breaching her defenses with ease.
    • Skills: Matten has been around for a long time, so knows a great deal of lore, rituals, and languages—as well as one martial arts style that s/he's been refining for eons. Also, is quite the tinkerer—this comes entirely from jury-rigging equipment into cheap amusement devices while passing the time on the road. There's also her tendency to move without making a sound and proficiency at Stealth Hi/Bye. And despite her otherness, she's quite capable at picking up deception and analyzing what's going on in a scene.
    • Equipment: No matter what the occasion, Matten is always carrying around her bronze mirror as well as some polishing tools.
  • Appearance:
    • Philomene: She's surrounded by will-o-the-wisp that crawl on her like so many centipedes. (Whoever she's "healed" will have one with the same effect). The wisps are crowned by a purest black halo that rings around the back of her head at an acute angle. The wisps are in addition to the tainted veins that occasionally appear, particularly on her face. Speaking of, she has a sort of black 'bleed' from her eyes that resembles running mascara. Via Teriitahi, Matten looks like a middle-aged and swarthy Pacific Islander—with hair and pupils darker than vantablack and a penchant for wearing heavy, always faded clothing (Lighter clothing doesn't just fade. It dissolves outright in her presence. Heavy clothing lasts, but on a scale of days. It's a pretty big bill). And while it's not immediately noticeable, her Voice of the Legion whenever her accent slips (and even when she's being too casual) makes her otherness obvious to all in earshot.
    • Mahvash/True Form: Matten's Khvarenah remains a constant thing, though now the wisps take the form of white embers or even snow that contrasts starkly with her brown skin and usual dark surcoats. She also remains cold to the touch (and to approach), but not deadly less she wants to be. (Whoever she's 'healed' keeps the crawling centipede fire though). As always, Matten's crowned by a purest black halo that albeit, has a metallic sort of look to it. Added to this is a pair of (vestigial) black wings that curl up at rest. note  True form restored and putting it to use obsessively, Matten's also quite athletically built, and will show off given half a chance. Matten's hair retains the (darker than vantablack) color, but her eyes have become a piercing green. With her noxious presence under control, Matten puts far more emphasis into finery, often appearing with bronze jewelry, like a rather regal circlet and a ring on each hand. And while it's not immediately noticeable, her Voice of the Legion remains her natural accent—only now she uses it as her regular voice.
  • Personality: Matten is both adventurous and charitable, if only because, staying still too long gets boring and she loves attention. Being a guardian entity (and at max prestige a tutelary deity) in her past used to get her worshiped after all. About anything excites her interest, and she will follow mysteries through to the end. And while she has some tendency toward Moral Myopia, those she accepts as hers get much in the way of preferential treatment and aid. In battle, Matten is a rather risk-averse, preferring to buff allies and slowly corner opponents, not to mention fighting extremely dirty. It should be noted, that Dark Is Evil in Matten's case. She's learned not to attract the attention of people like Banu Goshasp, and learned somewhat sociable behavior (by the standards of places that aren't Māzandarān), but her being on the side of justice is a happy coincidence. Matten is forthright about knowing the value of friends though (see below), and more than happy to dote on allies.
  • Background: Matten is an unseen entity from Māzandarān that is for all intents and purposes perfectly human. Except she lived in a place of ill omen crawling with evil sorcerers, mad oracles, mad scientists, evil chancellors, eviler emperors, and all manner of divs running around. Matten varied between mook, researcher, marquess, and much more as power and shifted with the winds. Māzandarān was and is a place of chaos and evil. Fortune played games. Matten didn't up and move from Māzandarān (and causing trouble) until the campaigns of Banu Goshasp. That battle technically killed her, as only a fraction of her old soul avoided being banished with her body in that encounter. In any case, the even left too many jagged pieces for her to recombine into her old self. Ever since then, she's been playing city spirit (or in fouler moods, Fair Folk) to random people over the ages until it morphed into superheroine in modern times, after her early times.
    • Special Goal: Matten wants to save the daeva, which involves fighting their own self-destructive natures, the planned renovation that'll wipe them out, and all the things out for her head in particular..

Nimue

  • Identity: Nimue of Avalon, Lady of the Lake. Sister of Vivienne, adopted aunt of Lancelot du Lac, former apprentice and ex-lover of Merlin.

  • Abilities:

    • Magic:

      • True sight: Nimue is able to see through all forms of magical illusion and trickery.

      • Shapeshifting: Nimue can change her shape as easily as others change their clothes, be it animal or human form.

      • Scrying: By using a body of water, Nimue can see far away events as they unfold.

      • Hermetic magic: Nimue can cast spells and weave enchantments by performing rituals.

      • Potions: Nimue is an expert in the brewing of magical potions and philters.

    • Healing: Nimue is knowledgeable in Avalonian healing traditions, magical and natural.

    • Slowed aging: Thanks to her fairy blood and her access to the magics of Avalon, Nimue may be functionally immortal.

  • Appearance: A tall woman with dark brown skin, flowing dark hair, and a penchant for elegant white dresses

  • Personality: Nimue is the scholarly sort, interested in amassing as much knowledge as possible - and with it, power. Her unnaturally calm demeanor belies her fiery temperament and her steely determination.

  • Background:

    • Nimue was born into the royal family of the Isle of Avalon, a country of fairy-human hybrids. She was the younger sister of Vivienne, Lady of the Lake before her and the one who bestowed Excalibur upon Arthur.

    • In Nimue’s youth, Vivienne visited Camelot to request the head of Sir Balin, who had murdered her brother. Instead, Balin killed her. When news of this reached Avalon, Nimue blamed Arthur for failing to protect Vivienne, avenge her brother, or properly punish Balin. She swore revenge on him and his kingdom, and at the age of nineteen, she traveled to Camelot with the intention of killing Arthur herself.

    • On her journey, she met Merlin in disguise. She saw through him, and he was impressed enough to offer her a position as his apprentice. Nimue saw a way to gain power and to cripple Camelot’s defenses. She accepted the offer, and traveled to Camelot with him.

    • Over the course of several years, Nimue wheedled all of Merlin’s secrets out of him, taking advantage of his obvious attraction towards her. She developed enough genuine affection for him that instead of killing him as she intended, she trapped him in a tree stump, where he would be trapped until his freedom centuries later. Arthur was without his aid when the Anglo-Saxons invaded Camelot.

    • Nimue returned to Avalon and became the new Lady of the Lake. With her revenge accomplished, her anger cooled, and when Morgan le Fay came with the almost-dead Arthur after the Battle of Camlann, Nimue granted them asylum.

Kyxe Seng

  • Identity: Lieutenant Kyxe Seng, Anti-ish Hero (leaning on the heroic side), no secret identity.
  • Powers: As a Kaydenite, Kyxe can generate a malleable substance akin to plasma by the use of concentrating electrical potential to several abdominal organs. Once the Hardlight is formed, she can direct it through her body either to form solid constructs or expel it outwards as high impact projectiles. Due to her disability, she primarily relies on smaller constructs, such as throwing knives and short-swords, and also long-range plasma shots. She can form shields like Rine, however the size and density of them causes her to burn out after only a few hits. A specific technique she has learned are small Hardlight spikes that erupt from walls, floors and ceilings, however she requires contact with the ground to control them and they fatigue her quickly.
  • Weakness: Like all Kaydenites, Kyxe is physically smaller and weaker than that of a human, rendering her easy to throw around and break. Another weakness of hers is close range combat, due to the fact that one of her Hardlight organs is rendered useless due to being malformed. This results in imbalanced strain discharge when forming Hardlight constructs, rendering them unstable the larger they are and the longer they are active. Kyxe has had surgery to prevent chronic abdominal pain with her disability, however the malformed organ is still a major weak spot.
  • Skills:
    • Agility: Because of her inability to rely on the shield construct technique for defence, Kyxe has had to become extremely flexible and proficient in parkour and acrobatics in order to survive combat. She is extremely aware of her surroundings to the point of being able to use practically every part of her body and the environment to her advantage.
    • Combat: Her organ disability hasn't stopped her from becoming a Lieutenant. Kyxe is proficient in knife combat, throwing weapons and ranged weapons, plus small sword constructs. Her style is based on targeting vital areas and retreating to a safe distance, using her movement skills to confuse her opponents and let their guards down. Long range isn't a problem either, as her heavy usage of Hardlight shots has made her an excellent aim with firearms.
  • Equipment:
    • Prototype Channeling Claymore: Also known as the PCC, this is a recent project of the House of Tehk. This sword is designed to channel Hardlight into its blade, allowing it to cut through many surfaces. Kyxe has been given permission for field testing, as the nature of the sword allows it to be coated entirely even with a small amount of Hardlight, making it perfect for her use. However, because she's so used to the weightless nature of Hardlight constructs, her fighting is slowed and hindered under its cumbersome nature, leaving her vulnerable. As such, she reserves it only for extremely tough opponents.
    • Amulet of Loe: An amulet with unknown properties. Kyxe discovered two of these amulets in her House's compound, one of which holding the sigil of Seng and the other the sigil of Anok. As such, when she met Rine and befriended him, it felt only right for her to give him the pendant, which he kept even on his mission to scout Earth. The pendant inexplicably warms and glows depending on the state of the other, which she primarily uses to track Rine's condition.
  • Appearance: Height around 5'3, average for a Kaydenite. Looks to be in her 20's, but is actually in her mid 200's.
  • Personality: Although mostly merciful, sweet and comforting, Kyxe has garnered a reputation for being ruthless and efficient in battle, her coldness towards those she perceives as evil rivalling even that of an Anok. That being said, she doesn't enjoy fighting by any means, preferring a more diplomatic approach, but once convinced there is no other way she will not let up and will try to end it as quickly as possible. Due to the House of Seng being the more outwardly emotional (and by extension, humanlike) of the eight Houses of the Council, Kyxe doesn't have as many heavy instincts of the bird-like Kaydenites than other houses, however the occasional head tilt and unblinking, wide-eyed stare can give her away if she isn't careful. She has a close friendship with Rine, and becomes extremely vicious if she feels he has been harmed in any way.
  • Background:
    • Kyxe was born to Ji'la and Van'l Seng of the main branch, with Ji'la a council representative, and Van'l being a patrol guard on the Equator Wall. As she grew, however, her parents noticed her surprising struggle in Hardlight generation. Fearing for their daughter's health, they brought her to a medical centre to check for any biological abnormalities. Sadly, the doctor found one. One of her four Hardlight organs had failed to mature correctly, causing more strain than usual on her body whenever she tried to channel Hardlight. The doctor said that she may never use advanced military constructs for fear of permanently rupturing her organs. Although distraught, Kyxe did not simply give up. She trained herself half to death in an attempt to prove to her family that she was not a lost cause, eventually mastering her ability to create small throwing knives and daggers with as little effort as a flick of the wrist. However, even when she was old enough to attend the military academy, her struggle was still obvious. She met Rine of the House of Anok, who informed and taught her of multiple techniques to lessen strain on the Hardlight organs, as he himself had the opposite problem as her. This acquaintanceship eventually evolved into a deep friendship, even when Rine was placed on a multiple decade mission to Earth following his graduation.
    • During the time Rine was away, Kyxe trained further, eventually surpassing both her and the doctor's expectations in her increased ability to use complex Hardlight constructs. She was even taught the Hardlight Spike technique by Akir Tume, the headmaster of the military academy, and was soon promoted to Lieutenant rank. Most recently, Kyxe had felt a pull from her pendant, around the same time of Rine's disappearance, which only grew in potency over time. Eventually, the pull manifested itself into a Rift, drawing Kyxe into an alternate dimension in order to connect itself with the other pendant owned by Rine. As she has never been to Earth, she is unaware of its customs, nature, and culture, and as such is woefully unprepared for the insanity that is Easton City.

Concept: Heaven

An high realm, and virtually inaccessible unless God himself invites you.

Due to it being a spiritual realm, and one of the highest ones at that, it is incomprehensible even to the likes of the Yōkai and Fæland spirits, and as such only the angels and higher beings may see it for what it is. It is located outside of the spiritual realms in the main universe and is not connected to the Titans in any way. Much like how the planet Kayden is entirely separate from its alternate counterpart, the same is here.

The Angels:

Spiritual messengers created by God, and as such enact his will. The very first one was The Word, also known as Jesus Christ while on Earth and later was made incorruptible by God under the name Michael. The angels are immensely powerful, being able to travel beyond any comprehension and negate the physical realm. One angel destroyed 185,000 Assyrians in a single night, while another two destroyed the entirety of the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. They have been given freedom of decision, however, and some sadly rebel against God and become fallen angels, or demons. When this happens, they are sent into a state called Tartarus, a form of spiritual darkness and a stunted ability to comprehend spiritual matters. The demons are directed by the rebel angel known as Satan the Devil, who has created wickedness in his heart and has become self-absorbed and arrogant.

The rankings of the angels go as this:

Archangel (Only one mentioned, Michael)

Seraphs

Cherubs

Common angels

The number of the angels is potentially limitless, or at least residing in the multiple hundreds of millions, judging from the "myriads of myriads" observation by John.

God:

Also known by his personal name of YHWH, Yehowah, or Jehovah, (depending on the language translated) God is the Most High and most powerful being in his universe. His Holy Spirit or "active force" allows him to enact his will to whatever it may be. His very name means "He Causes To Become", and as such becomes whatever he wishes or requires to be in order to fulfill whatever purpose he sets. As such, it is impossible for him to lie, since whatever he promises will have to come true.

He is loving towards his creation, and while his methods may seem extreme through the eyes of man and lesser beings, his actions are truly justified and necessary. Due to his nature, he can instantly ascend parts of his personality according to what is needed to fulfill his purpose.

As the original Spirit, God does not have a physical appearance, and his spiritual form is too complex for anyone to view without perishing. Also noted that he is omniscient, but may not choose to look into the future, omnipotent, but may not choose to interfere, but is not omnipresent, as he resides firmly in Heaven. As such he uses the angels and his active force in order to reach down into his creation.

Alright, I'm considering these NP Cs that rarely show, only if Sijo agrees it is an appropriate time. I've left them ambiguous according to my interpretation of the Scriptures, but obviously you can change them if needed and add details.

Also the fact that concepts of other angels being physical aliens or deities posing as God can also fit alongside this, due to the nature of this concept rarely taking an active part.

Exactly, I created the concept of the "Earth Gods" -who aren't truly divine- to allow religious figures to be used without much controversy. My only question is: how does this fit in with the Narrative Titans cosmology? I'd say that "God" is The Creator, an entity above them who made them so they would in turn shape the universe. I'll wait until GOA comments on this.

After a lengthy discussion on the Discord chat, it is decided that these angels and their God originate from another universe, in the same way the Kaydenites are. That way this frees up the Spandex universe for more deities that aren't on a set totem pole.

As such, expect these angels to only appear on large scale, multiversal events.

  • Identity:
    • Name: Numerus Invictus
    • Status: Villain Logistical and Research Organization & Charitable Foundation (Yes, really)
    • Secret identity: Fresh Dawn Health and Wellness Foundation
  • Abilities:
    • Powers: They each change their faces and identities regularly, and the Foundation front has the political capital to move the process in its favor, even as the villain side has the muscle to force issues in its favor. Many of them are rather wealthy and connected own right, having been making such gains for millennia. Furthermore, they all have at least enhanced strength and senses by Vitruvian's favor. The members are organized in groups of 12 and each has had a long time to know their counterparts by mannerism (if not the ever changing voices and faces).
    • Weaknesses: It is still an organization. It can be infiltrated, despite the difficulty and likely the briefness of a spy's tenure. Furthermore, the members have been active for a while. Most of them have children (and grandchildren, great grandchildren, etc..) and other family whom they often help out, making them easier to trace. Also, reputation and high society life are actual issues for most of them. So, despite their near immortality, arrest and prison time (and assorted humiliations) are actual issues for them, even if their fellows will soon free them. They're loathe to rebuild their lives in a new identity "too soon."
    • Skills: Numerus Invictus has picked up its members over thousands of years, and each of them are greatly experienced in clandestine logistics, research (of the often painful, very non-consensual kind), combat (of course), and even politics.
    • Equipment: Variable, depends on the mission. Each is always wearing bullet-proof clothing though, and their transit vehicles and safe houses and homes are studded with warding (Against supernatural threats) and power limiters (for psionic threats) as well as traps.
  • Appearance: Each of the members, including Vitruvian, changes face and voice regularly. They do usually dress like Ladies and Gentleman of Adventure when "on call" though.
  • Personality: The organization itself is rather lax. It is essentially an evil day club. The members golf, organize parties, coordinate charitable donations, systemically bribe and disappear key public officials, hunt the most dangerous game, and abduct select people for some after-work experimentation and tea. The Fresh Dawn Health and Wellness Foundation has numerous staff in addition to the members and is quite devoted to its stated goal of better living and health for every human. Vitruvian has innumerable medical advances in reserve from his research over the millennia. He releases it in small bits as extra insurance for his life. It has no designs on taking over the world or even a city (openly anyway).
  • Background: Numerus Invictus used to be parallel to the Numerus Batavorum of Rome. Vitruvian, who found himself immortal, had been secretly taking KIA members for his own purposes for years. Eventually it grew into his clientele to work his affairs in Rome. When that empire fell, Numerus Invictus just spread its workings. They were rarely picked up from positions of privilege, usually being exceptional talents in bad places (overlooked peasant levies, and the like). Thus, they've grown together, and their only real loyalty is to each other (and each others' families) and Vitruvian. They also have a tendency to refer to Vitruvian as "The Lord." (He is the guy who keeps bringing them back to life if KIA and keeps them young otherwise).

Name: John

Codename: Jackal

Species: Fallen Angel

Gender: Male

Image: What he typically looks like in armor. https://www.pinterest.com/pin/443675000764669048/

Powers:

-Cleansing Touch: The touch of an angel can heal even the most grievous wounds, and reverse even the most terrible destructive effects. Although Jackal can’t bring the dead back to life, he can reverse almost any wound, given time. Because he’s one of the Fallen- even if he retains his power- he cannot heal more serious injuries instantly. Generally, anything worse than broken bones or mind-control is going to either take time or extreme effort to reverse.

-Divine Grace: Various things make it quite clear that Jackal still retains some measure of divinity, even if his powers are merely a shadow of their former selves. Filth seems to steer clear of him as if it had a will of its own, and plants seem to flourish in his presence.

An aura of good will almost seems to follow him, and he seems to shed light as if he were a burning torch. But the thing that marks him most clearly as an angel, even a fallen one, are the pair of large white feathered wings which sprout from his back, allowing him to fly at high speed.

''-Guardian Angel:' By focusing his power, Jackal is able to craft holy light into three things. The first is simple clothing- typically robes or armor, which while generally high quality, aren’t particularly supernatural in any other aspect besides their method of creation. He can also summon very durable weaponry- typically some kind of large battleaxe- although such weapons are also not typically supernatural.

However, Jackal’s most powerful ability other than his cleansing touch is his ability to form what can best be described as a field of force. Nearly unbreakable as long as he doesn’t run out of energy, these holy barriers can range from about ten feet wide and eight feet tall, and generally resemble a curved wall.

Backstory:

Jackal was once an Guardian Angel- quite literally, in fact. He guarded the realm of men against incursions by Titans, demonic forces, and other foul monsters. He was often considered one of the kinder angels, and often intervened on behalf of humans just a tad bit more than was necessary, although no one really minded, least of all God.

And then Jackal crossed the line.

When the S.S Strider blew apart on launch, it would have been a massive tragedy- at least two dozen humans, including children, were onboard. The space shuttle had been tested before, but something happened- something that would have resulted in terrible loss.

Until an angel intervened... literally.

Using his divine power to hold the Strider together, Jackal hurled the passengers and pilots free, before smiting the exploding ship into oblivion. While most of humanity didn’t understand what had happened, the surviving people that Jackal had saved had seen him in all his glory. And direct interference like that was simply something God couldn’t let slide, no matter how benevolent it may have seemed.

Jackal left peacefully once his Lord had explained the situation. As it was, it was more of a “I approve of your actions, but they are against the rules- so something has to happen” situation. Although he was stripped of most of his power, Jackal was still left with enough power to do good in the world… even if he was naive enough to take the name Jackal since he materialized in a zoo.

Jackal & Daniel is very close to Jack Daniels.

How appropriate, considering their hobby.

The Messenger

  • Identity: Daniel, (alternate universe angel) Hero, secret identity.
  • Abilities: As a holy angel, Daniel can wield Holy Spirit, and as such perform fantastic miracles on a massive scale if backed by his God. He has the ability to move without the limitations of the physical realm, (basically just extremely fast flight and intangibility) as well as either read minds or gradually drain the lifeforce of those he opposes on contact. He can also materialize into the physical realm into practically any form he wishes, usually that of a human male, however when communicating with humans or delivering a message from his God he usually appears in the most recognizable form attributed to an angel in the area he's in. Unlike Jackal, his abilities are mainly offensive, and as such cannot heal or raise shields like he, however he does wield a large sword with supernatural cutting abilities.
  • Appearance:
  • Personality: Although he is benevolent and kind, Daniel has shown bouts of sarcasm and cynicism, mainly due to him being stressed out, especially after being assigned to watch over Jackal. That being said, he is very respectful and formal to authority, especially to his God. He refuses to be worshipped by men, even to the point of him not giving out his name, seeing himself as equal if not lower than them. His relationship with Jackal is like that of an older brother, trying desperately to keep his younger brother out of trouble, with varying success.
  • Background: Created along with his brothers by God via The Word/Michael sometime before his Earth's creation, Daniel witnessed everything, including the rebellion of the one who later became known as Satan, along with some of his brothers, the fall of man into sin, the later sacrifice of Jesus Christ to purge man of sin, and Satan's banishment to Earth and subsequent overthrow of its governments. Upon Jackal's decision to interfere directly, opposing God's authority and subsequently stripped of power, Daniel was elected to watch over John/Jackal on the alternate Earth he was allowed to go to, due to their previous friendship. As such, Daniel has been worked down to the spiritual bone in keeping Jackal out of trouble on this new Earth, which has been made more difficult by the population of superhumans.

Dragoknight Kills El Fuego Blanco [1080p HD] (part 1)

EXT. JUNGLE / COMPOUND

In the Mesopotamian region of Argentina, a helicopter flies above a partial camouflaged building in the middle of the subtropical jungle. As the helicopter pans high over the scene, a bronze figure trailing green fire zooms in from the right at a level below the helicopter. The reporter speaks in Spanish with translation at the bottom of the screen.

Reporter: Authorities have finally cornered notorious El Fuego Blanco, top enforcer of the Camillo De Lobo (Wolf Fang) Cartel, involved in extortion, assassinations, the trafficking of weapons, drugs and humans and recently last month's La Plata Massacre during a botched territorial war. American hero Dragoknight has been called in to spearhead the operation.

The camera pans over several black helicopters coming to surround the compound below the news helicopter at a further distance than Dragoknight. Dragoknight circles the compound twice before stopping to hover near the front of compound at least five meters above the ground. When he speaks, his voice is booming, loud enough to be heard above the helicopters and by the news camera, and even through the video a bit of his unnatural menace can be felt.

Dragoknight: Diego Juan Pablo Blanco, you are alone, your employers have abandoned you. By the authority of United Nations and the Argentinians government, for your crimes against order and the innocent blood on your hands, your death warrant has been signed, to be carried out at my discretion. I elect to show you mercy. Please, s̴͝u̷͠rr͞e͏̨͝n̶̸̕d͢͡͠ęr̶͡, and I will speak on your behalf in favor of your leniency. Please, do not make me do this.

On every platform this video is shown, when Dragoknight says "surrender", the entire screen will briefly go lightly staticy with a green tinge.

Reporter: Madre de Dios...

Cameraman: [Off Screen] [Spanish] What was that?

The front of the compound explodes with white fire and a wiry man with an extravagant costume of red and white feathers emerges from the burning hole that used to be a front door. His shouting his harder to hear over the helicopters, but subtitles show what he is saying.

El Fuego Blanco: EEEEPAH! De puta madre, El Fuego Blanco will not be cowed by TALOS attack dog negro! El Fuego Blanco will not go down without a fight! You will have to make good on your threat, Dragoknight, and come and kill me, because I do not want any of your mercy!

Dragoknight does not respond for fourteen seconds before unfolding his arms and spreading them wide, the seams of his armor glowing green. El Fuego Blanco responds by spreading his arms as well and conjuring to white fireballs into his hands.

Dragoknight: Very well then.

Reporter: [Spanish] They're going to fight!

Dragoknight swoops down just as El Fuego Blanco blasts off from the ground. White and green meet in the midair and the explosion causes the news helicopter to shake and many of the black helicopters to back off.

Cameraman: [Briefly seen when the he loses his grip of the camera] Mierda!

Part 1 ends here. An annotation at the end of the video says [Sorry guys, You Tube keeps pulling part 2 down so you can't see the actual death.]

  • Identity:
    • Name: Justice and Chief Arbiter Ila Golshan, JD, PHD
    • Status: Civil Servant / Hero of a Sort
    • Secret identity: Ila Golshan
  • Abilities:
    • Powers Anti-Magic, The Immune, and True Sight. She's essentially a supernatural proof judge, mediator, and arbitrator.
    • Weaknesses: That means all of nothing if someone just shoots her. Ila has nothing resembling Super-Strength or Super-Toughness at all.
    • Skills: Given the superpower, which gave her a bit higher a survivor chance in the various strange things about town, Ila had the chance to really hunker down in the studies and become the town's favorite Omnidisciplinary Lawyer.
    • Equipment: Gavel (of course). Bulletproof vest under the robe. (Thing's get heavy). Handcart of full of lots and lots of paperwork.
  • Appearance: Ila is a very tiny and rather willowy woman who is almost never seen outside of a suit or a robe (that makes her look much bigger). And, by the end of the docket, her face is contorted into a perpetual sneer.
  • Personality: Justice Golshan has been on the bench awhile. So, she's usually listening to cases with something in between weary indifference and harsh, well, judgement. Ila is intolerant of quackery and purple prose, and will steer all parties to the point with severity. Further, she does few favors for few people. There is no one she likes enough to risk her pioneering job for.
  • Specific Background: Ila Golshan is Easton's Chief Arbiter and Justice of the district superhero court. Besides being differently powered herself, her varied studies meant she Got Volunteered for the job in short order. She's still there because of mixture of prestige points and the tiny fact that the government won't produce her retirement benefits until she's fully trained the next cohort. She has several hats depending on the task. Chief arbiter for informal things, and Justice with full record and trial matters. No, there is no appeal. (Who one else wants to deal with this stuff)?
  • General Background: The proliferation of differently powered individuals, accompanying mass property damage, and the paradigm shifting effects of the proliferation made administration of justice difficult to say the least. Acts of Congress and the states already allowed classic superheoes to testify under oath while still in masks (and their secret identity), but that was just a patch. There was still the matter of figuring out super-fight insurance claims, use of force against supervillains, competition law, etc. So, Congress created federal chambers of general jurisdiction, whose members use a combination of arbitration and legal wrangling to squeeze results out bit by bit. Sometimes its a family suing over the hole that heat vision made in their home. Other times its a hero team and the many victims of a villain testifying in what is for all intents and purposes a typical robbery trial—except the court needs to know the limits and eccentricities of evidence when a vampire is involved (no fingerprints no footage but so often the signs of glamored victims). These courts do not take the place of the law courts stateside, but any super empowered individual can request removal to chambers like Ila's, at least for as long as the states let this Obvious Beta patch stand...
