Slightly more details regarding DARLING in the FRANKXX.

Key notes:

  • The characters we've seen are apparently "children without names" and are referred to as Code: 016 (boy) and Code: 002 (girl). Artificial Humans?
  • The quotations give the impression that 002 is quite fearless and ruthless.(..and knows what clothes are.)
  • One commenter for the article apparently notices 002 has fangs. Whaaa...

What does it mean?! What does it mean?!

Funimation, ya ruined it!! Ya spoiled the crossovers!! >:

Oh well. At least they didn't spoil the actual ending. ;)

[up] Eh, maybe they figured the crossover aspect was common knowledge by now.

Anyway, Necroing this thread because Kiznaiver is getting an English dub from Aniplex of America and Crunchyroll!

They also announced the cast!

If you're thinking "Huh, I don't know any of these guys from Bang Zoom! Entertainment," that's because they're not from BZE.

As per the linked article:

Karl Willems directed the dub, and Mark Macdonald wrote the script. Crunchyroll produced the dub in association with Ocean Media Inc.

Well THAT'S a shock!!! When was the last time Ocean dubbed a show that wasn't aimed at kids??

The OP theme seriously reminds me of "Take On Me".

To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."

That did not go unnoticed by fans. :D

I guess I'll post my thoughts on Studio Trigger's shows as I watch them here. Didn't notice there was already a Trigger thread.

Alright so episode 8 of Gurren Lagann. I actually went into the show already knowing Kamina was going to die, the man's reputation precedes him I guess. Still it's really sad. I liked how it totally fit in with Kamina's characterization though. Since he first made it to the surface and realized his dad died, it seemed like he always thought he'd never be one of the ones to bite the dust like others, so he never ran away. His bravery is a positive quality and sure helps Team Dai-Gurren get the job done when they need it, but his refusal to retreat was also what got him killed. Anyway, can't wait to see what comes after.

... nope. The first time I saw that episode, I was NOT spoiled. ;____;

Raising this thread from the dead because...

Studio Trigger is now on Patreon!

As for why they're on Patreon?

We’re a studio that strives for a global audience and values communications with our fans. If you've been in a creative business, I bet we can all relate that a simple feedback is all it takes to make our day great. However, there’s no denying at times we wished we had an extra buck or two. There’s been one too many incidents where we had to give up a merchandise idea because it was unprofitable, or simply due to lack of funding. That’s where you and Patreon comes in! With your support, we would like to forward funds into various aspect of the studio. Possibly a new line of merchandise, attending/conducting more events, or simply providing a little more to our staff.

Not only that, but they also having a live drawing session with one of their artists/animators after scoring $1,500 per month (which they already did)!

Only downside is that this is being maintained one single staff member, so don't pester them with inane questions every waking hour, 'kay?

I will definitely support them.

I'm gonna be that guy and point out that Gurren Lagann is not a Trigger show. Many staff members carried over into Trigger, but whatever magic they had back in 2007 hasn't really carried over 100%.

It's been fun.

Reloading this thread because remember how Studio TRIGGER announced 3 projects that became DARLING in the FRANXX, SSSS.GRIDMAN, and Promare?

Apparently, Promare is Studio Trigger’s first...movie?!

Furthermore, it's coming 2019.

Admittedly this is an overdue thought, but everyone noticed the trailer left out Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt in that montage of pervious Imaishi animes, right?

I wonder why. Probably because PSG is too niche and adult to be remembered in Japan?

kyun Since: Dec, 2010
#42: Oct 26th 2018 at 9:50:05 AM

No because Panty and Stocking was made by GAINAX, NOT Trigger!

[up] But Gurren Lagann was featured and that was made under Gainax, so...

Then there ARE no rules for what was included.

Looks like BEASTARS has some competition. BNA - Brand New Animal is the next TV anime from Trigger with Yoh Yoshinari directing. What I find interesting is that Kazuki Nakashima is writing it. He is usually partnered with Hiroyuki Imaishi (Gurren Lagann, Kill La Kill, Promare), so to have him work with Yoshinari will be interesting.

Odd. Animals in anime as the main characters are usually reserved for the kiddy crowd. But maybe this is a shift in trends.

I wouldn't be surprised if Beastars was the cause of that shift if it continued. It's really just that good.

By the way, did anyone see one of Promare's… premieres at AX or Japan Expo?

Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo.
