The ComicBook/ Namespace, and the lack of requirements to qualify

A reasonable concern, and yes, they're getting moved. I'm verifying each of them before approving the cut. That's one reason why the Cut List is so long right now. Some really bad ZCE are getting dropped, but I'm not planning on letting "bad" examples get dropped this way (that can be done after the move).

I might have missed it but is there a reason Ragman is listed for "Restructuring" while Cosmic Boy and Karate Kid are listed for deletion after moving character tropes? All three pages are a mess right now, but in the same way with a hard split between character and work tropes. Karate Kid probably doesn't have enough work tropes to stand on its own as is, but Cosmic Boy does.

It’s because I can’t think of a place for Ragman to go if it the same treatment, along with the fact that he’s not part of any bigger franchise, unlike Cosmic Boy.

Honestly, for some, it may be better to have a redirect (like YMMV.Darkseid redirected to YMMV.New Gods or something).

Hey so i've got a possibly stupid question that probably should of been asked before the move but why can't Character pages have trivia and ymmv and the like?

Trivia goes on Trivia/ subpages and YMMV goes on YMMV/ subpages. See What Goes Where on the Wiki for more detail.

I think it's just a rule.

Also, is there a list of the pages that have been cutlisted? I wanna make sure any CM redirects for those are done.

Ok I think we're finally done step one for the Marvel side of the move. I have redirected and moved everyone's pages over on the marvel side. The only one left is Thanos and thats because all of his other pages are self-demonstrating. I'm going to go to bed now so if someone could please double check my work that would be great. Also letting me know what step two is. Check the progress at Gigan Kills the Marvel Universe

Yes, it is, and I've been making those changes, too.

Character subpages are already subpages of the work. It is bad sorting, like asking for trivia subpages for the cover art and separating "plot" vs "setting" opinions instead of alphabetically. That leads to unnecessary duplication.

I don't think I processed many/any comicbook namespaces yet; they should all be redirects to the character pages right now. It's the ymmv/trivia subpages that are more questionable, where a few had too many inbounds for me to justify the outright cut as redirecting to the work subpage is better than a cut reason pointing to it. At least for now.

Usually just the main redirect is needed, but there's no specific rule.

That depends, is the X-men considered separate form the rest of the Marvel cast. As in are "X Men (character)" the title convention for such pages?

Based on marketing and in-universe stories (taken from pop culture and adaptations), the two properties are pretty distinct, even if they supposedly take place in the same world.

In related news, I intended the Marvel pages to work like the DC Animated Universe pages, where groups were listed under the franchise of origin while individuals were given “Marvel Comics” identifiers, I did this because it would fit the inherent structure of the Marvel Universe (IE: Spider-Man’s Rogues Gallery only has a major presence in Spider-Man while Norman Osborn has had major appearances in non-Spider-Man titles).

Joker is primarily a Batman villain; he occasionally shows up in someone else's book in a crossover but that's about it.

So, today I learned that Bugs Bunny and friends have their own Western Animation pages, linked to from Looney Tunes Major Characters. Should these also be moved to Character/?

Didn’t those serve as mock-work pages for shirts without their own page? Plus, this is the Comic Book thread.

I think I brought it up in an ATT query, but I have said that I could probably find examples where the character and the work are conflated in every media namespace. This thread is about fixing just the Comics because it is the namespace with the most examples of this misuse.

Yeah I noticed the same thing for the Disney Characters. There should probably be another project started for them.
