@Paradoxial Stratagem - Our GM is currently unable to post, though he will attempt to do so later once he can. This is a copy-paste of his response.

Hey, this is Baron Green, one of the GMs. Having some TVT problems, so I've asked one of the players to pass this on for me. Signups are always open, so you're more than welcome to join the game. If you have any questions about anything, I'm more than happy to answer them.

Well that's good to know, hope everything's alright. It's probably going to take a couple days for me to think of a character, but so far I'm running with the idea of an avian alien from a Vestigial Empire that might serve as part of the main group's security detail or something of the sort. I'll be honest I don't know a lot about the synopsis of key events yet, although I've found bits and pieces.

This is me as a player speaking, not the voice of Baron Green this time. Though he is fine, just he doesn't have easy access to using TVT at his current second.

Our crew is pretty much just a Ragtag Bunch of Misfits so... Really your role if any aboard (some people have pretty much no purpose) is up to you. We have multiple pilots, engineers, fighters, criminals, medics, sciencey people. Play a character that is fun and prepare for the mania that is the game, with us having both a lot of lighthearted, and dramatic bits.

A symbiosis isn't really that necessary though if you want I could give a recap of what we have done thus far.

Take all the time you need with making your character.

Well the good news is that I'm almost done with the rough draft of my character sheet, I'm seriously just stuck on giving the guy a name, although I suspect I want it to start with a "T" and have a "V" somewhere probably, maybe a "K". All I know for sure is that I want to avoid that annoying cliche that involves simply throwing in a randumb apostrophe for the sake of a name sounding "alien".

Also I'm going to be busy all day tomorrow, so I'm probably not going to start until the weekend most likely if my character is accepted. On a semi-related note, I kind of wish that there was a cast of characters on the original post, and I would very much appreciate an abridged recap of what's happened if possible in case I need to know any background information before starting.

Update: So far I have the name "Tovahk Dregav" as a placeholder, not quite sure whether I think it's worthy of being the final name yet. I can't help but admit that despite intending to sound like an "alien" name, it sounds vaguely Slavic/Russian.

@Paradoxial Stratagem - Well a character roster is hard since not all players are constantly active/ have publicly available sheets right now. (Reasons) with do have our game's character page which some people have added their stuff to: We Are on a Space Adventure.

For a recap? As I said its not really needed to join, nothing we have done is stuff your character necessarily would know about but as a quick overview.

  • Our ship The Troperia was acquired from a slaver at the Amada Spaceport.
  • Our crew kinda gathered as a ragtag bunch of misfits with no distinct purpose.
  • While traveling on of the characters detected the ship was being tracked and set our course for a planet known as GLX2000, a hyper capaltalist, corrupt dystopian world where you pay for everything from trash dropped to puking on the side walks to healthcare to 'illegal thoughts '.
    • While on world they discovered the mega-corp and security agency running the planet known as Darkwatch was actually tracking the ship deeming the combined crew as too dangerous to be together also trying to capture the investigating character.
    • A fight started to escalate rapidly from one person being attacked by thugs, to half the crew vs. planetary security, to shooting down police bombers as we try and evac to fleeing the planet and getting a rather sizable several billion strong bounty/cleaning/ammunition bill with the planet.
  • We flew for some time, not doing alot but interpersonal relations and power discovery.
  • We ran across a near-destroyed freighter, recruited a new crew member and sent to salvage the ship whose name is currently escaping me.
  • We flew to the planet Nos Lycarin, (or Lyca IV) a heavily socialized, scientific and tech orientated water planet. Contested with its strict landing laws, designed to protect the planets ecology and prevent crashes mostly by one of the characters being a recognized VIP which helped significantly.
    • We did shopping, had some fun, did repairs and sold salvage as well as more characters joining and got given a mission to investigate a space-station that went dark.
  • We flew away to investigate the space-station!
    • First though we found the distress signal of a pirate ship on-route that was wrecked and damage but had a survivor; another player character Amos. It was dangerous but we succeeded.
    • We continued to the space-station which was wrecked. Rapid summery, rare kinds of aliens aboard [1] [2] [3], released when a rogue AI named Mira took control of the station from its original occupants. Huge fights broke out dealing damage to both the station and Troperia. We won, but the rogue AI uploaded herself away and escaped. We took our salvage from the station and left to lick our wounds and collect our reward.
    • Flew back to Nos Lycarin, been given our rewards and are now just relaxing planet-side having fun and recuperating.

I think that covers what has happened in general. There is alot of individual character plots that have occurred which I missed but it would take forever to write those. These were the main ones that effected the ENTIRE ship and crew so the most major.

Just reading that alone further solidifies my interest in this RP. Like I said, I'm probably not going to be able to start until sometime this weekend, as I need to finalize my character's name (although I have to admit I haven't thought of anything better than Specialist Torvahk Dregav.) I also have to admit that I've noticed that most characters here from what I've seen through the potholes are either human, cyborg, or humanoid-alien, so the one I'm planning to make might stick out like a really sore thumb being a bird-like alien (think something that would have been visually inspired by the Halo Kig-Yar "Jackals", the Hissho from Endless Space, and the Kroot from WH 40 K.)

Ahh cool and yeah we do have alot of either just plain humans, half-human hybrids, cyborgs, transhumans or humanoid aliens. Human nature I guess

A larger variety could be very cool. I am going to hold back on giving advice on names, I hate naming things personally. It can take longer than making a character for me. I do wish you luck and I am glad this has inspired you more to play the RP.

For naming: I could recommend this site: http://fantasynamegenerators.com/

Its fairly good and has name generators for literally everything, and regarding diversity: you won't stick out like a sore thump, you will just make our crew more interesting to look at (in a positive way of course :))

Well I've finally finished my rough draft of my character sheet. I've looked around at various other character sheets for reference and noticed that while they all mostly followed the template in the OP, there were no distinct styles one was "required" to use. As a result, I decided to be a bit creative myself. I will warn you ahead of time, while I tried to refrain from adding too much information for each field, the fact that I've basically created this character out of an Original (well, as original as one believes it to be) Universe that was never made part of any works I made because I could never figure out how to incorporate it into any of them (what I tend to call "floating ideas", they're there, I just can't figure out how to use them in anything I've made so far.)

Anyway here it is:

  • Name: SPC. Torvahk Grevom
  • Age: 24 Terran Years
  • Gender: Male
  • Race: Kahmanshaw/Kahmandra? (Haven't finalized the name)
  • Homeworld: Presk, Takonov Star System
  • Physical Traits/Appearance: A 5 foot, nine inch tall, 172 pound young adult who's actually slightly smaller than an average Kahmanshaw/Kahmandra male specimen. Has smoke gray plumage with red tint that hides onyx colored skin, and lighter-gray/silver head feathers. Has yellow eyes with vertically slit pupils, and a rather muscular build for an avian creature due to 2 years of extensive physical conditioning. Has two main outfits:
    • Armored Outfit: Torvahk's personal suit of Vanguard Power Armor. An armored spacesuit that features three inner layers made of traditional spacesuit polymers for insulation and space-survival, and a metallic exterior layer with black as its primary color and red trim patterns across the upper torso, lower torso, and limbs. Torvahk's power armor, like all standard Vanguard powersuit models was designed with practicality over aesthetic appeal, which features shoulder guards, a chest plate, knee guards, wrist bracers , and a helmet specifically fitted for a Kahmanshaw/Kahmandra head with Torvahk's particular helmet decorated with a gray visor tint and the designated numbers: 43-571.

    • Unarmored Outfit: The outfit that Torvahk wears under his power armor, which is a black and gray single-piece outfit best described as a hybrid between a flight suit and a jump suit made of a mesh of shrapnel-resistant, static-proof cooling fabrics. Features removable arm and leg sleeves for warmer climates, and shock-resistant footwear that can also be worn with power armor. Has no pockets, and actually cleans itself to eliminate the need for laundry. Also features the designated numbers 43-571 on his backside, and a red emblem of his micro-nation Mehketar: an abstract symbol full of sharp angular geometry.

  • Biology: While the Kahmandra/Kahmanshaw were originally typical winged birds mixed with small raptors early in their evolutionary timeline, they ended up losing their ability to fly in exchange for greater intelligence, and also obtained denser skeletons and stronger muscles. Their wings ended up becoming arms (with hands that feature four digits: Two that function as fingers, and two thumbs with one on each side of the talon hand), and what was once their talons became more complex to accommodate increased ground activity. To compensate for their lack of flight and improve their capabilities as predators, the Kahmandra/Kahmanshaw developed powerful sprinting and leaping abilities to pursue and take down prey animals, a physique that the Kahmandra/Kahmanshaw still inherit today. It should be noted that unlike most birds with distinct male/female coloration, the Kahmandra/Kahmanshaw have developed color codes to distinguish one's social status ever since they discovered the ability to dye their plumage. Duller colors are typically given to lower-income members of society, while the more extravagant, vibrant colors are reserved for Kahmandra/Kahmanshaw of high standing. This makes sexual dichotomy almost non-existent, save for distinct pheromones and minute differences between male and female Kahmandra/Kahmanshaw.

  • Occupation: Private Security, Heavy Weapons Specialist

  • Equipment/Tools:

    • FTX-45 'Destructor' Heavy Fusion Cannon: A powerful two-handed weapon that fires of concentrated plasma powered by thermonuclear energy derived from Deuterium that's contained in “Plasma Cells”, which also power the weapon. The FTX-45 is rated for anti-air and anti-vehicle applications, and can also destroy small spacecraft. Despite the FTX-45's ability to be compacted into the size of a large backpack, it's a very bulky weapon that weighs down its user when equipped (even more so when deployed) and has powerful recoil that requires both extensive physical conditioning and the appropriate grade of battle-suit to use without ripping one's arm off. Due to its heaviness and 4-second charge delay, the FTX-45 is a poor choice for use against a single infantry target, and is suicidal to use in close-quarters.

    • PXR-12 'Executioner' Hand Cannon: An energy weapon that features two modes of fire: the traditional semi-automatic mode and the “Power Charge Mode” that expends all charge in a power cell for a single powerful shot that is often used for piercing most light and some medium grades of armor at the expense of greater recoil, a 2 second delay, and less accuracy. Because of its ease of concealment and portability, the PXR-12 is favored by Kahmanshaw/Kahmandra law enforcement and military officers, but its short range limits its effectiveness to infantry. True to its nickname, the Executioner is infamous for its history as the prime weapon of choice for executions.

    • 'Krooksha' Combat Knife: A standard melee weapon with a serrated blade design on all edges distinct to the Crimson Imperium, which preferred damage and brutality over neatness and precision with most of their weaponry. If it isn't attached as an improvised bayonet for a firearm, a Krooksha is used as as a last resort tool for defense due to its limited effectiveness against unarmored enemies. Can be used for cutting fibers and light materials, but is a terrible choice for clean cuts.

    • PCAS 85 'Vanguard' Power Armor: A heavy-class armored spacesuit designated for combat specialists that provides considerable protection against melee damage, along with decent projectile resistance. Comes with a built-in helmet communication device, a simple HUD system that keeps track of vitals, ammunition, and location, and jump jets designed to allow the wearer to quickly leap 20 feet and fall roughly the same height with minimal discomfort. Also features exoskeleton suit components to allow the wearer to lift heavy objects they would otherwise never be able to, as long as they don't exceed 1000 lbs. Contains a life-support system that allows the wearer to survive up to half an hour in a low-atmospheric or submerged environment, (despite being difficult to move in aquatic environments). Has some augmentation capacity, and adds 175 pounds on the wearer which negatively affect mobility and agility.

  • Powers/Abilities:

    • Heavy Weapons Specialist: Can handle powerful weapons such as beam cannons, rocket launchers, and miniguns without recoil affecting his accuracy thanks to heavy weapons training in the Mehketaran Army. His movement speed and maneuverability are still impaired when wielding heavy weaponry, even when wearing a battlesuit with jump jets.

    • Cooking Proficiency: Took up culinary arts as a hobby since a young age, which made him the designated cook in his unit. Most food cooked by Torvahk mainly consists of meat, due to a claimed inability (in reality a strong dislike) for eating most plant-derived food. Can make food out of a variety of animals both familiar and foreign, and in most cases creates quality food that is more likely to be enjoyed than not. Does not desire nor approve of eating sapient life.

    • Poison Craftsman: Because of bizarre traditions within Kahmandra/Kahmanshaw culture, all chefs and cooks are not only expected to know how to make food, but also craft a variety of harmful substances ranging from things as minor as sedatives to lethal toxins. With this knowledge, Torvahk knows how to make tranquilizer rounds, poison darts, and grenades that release gases that cause temporary paralysis. Another reason Torvahk avoids fruits, vegetables, and grains is because many plants on most Kahmandra/Kahmanshaw worlds were used to create poisons.

    • Novice Brewer: Knows how to distill ethyl-alcohol (ethanol) with the right ingredients and equipment. Despite what one would think, Torvahk is a terrible brewer of alcoholic drinks, and mainly uses this knowledge to create molotovs and improvised rubbing alcohol. Do not ask for a drink from this guy unless you like painfully bitter substances that in rare cases causes temporary blindness.

    • Stern Discipline: Having been part of the Mehketaran Army since he was the equivalent of 15 years old, Torvahk Grevom has been indoctrinated with a stolid, straight-laced, no nonsense attitude that may put him at odds with more jovial types. This does provide him with the benefit of a strong sense of morale that makes him less likely to become intimidated or feel overwhelmed in a fight, but is not completely immune when he notices that he's hopelessly outmatched.

  • Background: Torvahk Grevom is a descendant of a once powerful empire known as the Crimson Imperium: a jingoistic and xenophobic galactic power once located in the far edge of the Sagittarius arm of the galaxy, and was once known for its military might before it ended up collapsing when they were challenged by the only enemy they could never defeat: A long-dormant, merciless race of crystalline bio-mechanical lifeforms that called themselves The Protectors. This once thriving galactic power was reduced to nothing more than fleets of wandering refugees, those that survived were scattered across the galaxy in micro-nations each hoping to find a new homeworld and rebuild. Torvahk was born as a third generation citizen of Mehketar: A micro-nation based on the garden world of Presk that unlike its predecessor emphasized a balance of martial strength and diplomatic tact, as displayed in Mehketar's official motto “Through unity, we are strong!” Despite his years of military service, Grevom has been assigned by the Mehketaran government to function as a combination of a private security guard and a representative of his people in hopes of improving relations with alien life: a duty traditionally given to messengers and diplomats within the micro-nation. Seeing no reason to turn down a lucrative offer, Torvahk accepted his unconventional mission and embarked on the journey that was soon to take place...if he could ever find it.

-Torvahk Grevom's Background
[lol] Okay I can see how this is going already with him joining up.

For the signup itself? Overall it looks good, I don't see any major issues with anything on it, I like the attention to detail you have given to various things on the sheet. Such as the executioner pistol and the poison making. Which could come in useful

Perhaps the naming of the race could actually be a controversy, a group of people wanting it named a different way! Or maybe you not. It is up to you, just a cool idea I had.

Of-course I am not the GM so I cant accept it but I don't think there will be a issue. I'll make sure the GM has a look at it at some point today. ^_^

[up][up] The name controversy actually sounds like a great idea, could have a tie-in related to the collapse of Torvahk's Vestigial Empire, kind of like if humans were in a similar position and wondered if they should still refer to themselves with the same name or call themselves something else to further represent cutting the ties they once had with an organization they didn't like and the ideas behind it.

[up] Thank you very much for including me into this RP, I hope to not disappoint.

Like I said earlier, I abridged some details as I plan to reveal stuff later over time when and if I feel like it. A lot of it depends on whether background/ personality traits/ etc. info would be relevant at the time. As for actually getting started, I'm not sure whether to begin with Torvahk simply arriving at the wrong coordinates in a transport ship by accident, in the middle of an assignment on a desert world belonging to another race with a security team that would attract the group's attention, or both. I'm not sure what the ratings are for this RP, but the second option would involve some heavy violence (nothing like Mortal Kombat's level of Gorn, but to put it in perspective there would be 2-3 times where gaping holes would be blown clean through a bandit's torso/head area.)

EDIT: I'm considering a third possible way to introduce my character by having him and a small security team not only end up crashing on the wrong planet (or moon to be precise), they end up attracting waves of bandit raids due to a generic all-frequency hail that would have been intercepted by several different star systems (and possibly the Troperia if that's alright with you, there has to be away to discover Torvahk somehow right?) As much as I hate some cliches, Torvhak's going to be the last survivor, and needless to say he's probably going to need some help despite the team's weaponry and how many bandits they'd end up annihilating. How's that sound? I'm a bit concerned that would make him seem like The Load in terms of introductions, but I'm still thinking of ideas if that's not ideal.

  • Race: Cenne (singular Cenn)
  • Homeworld: Dablillon VII-C
  • Physical Traits/Appearance: This nice looking gal here.
  • Biology: The Cenne are a race of plant-like humanoids although this resemblance goes only so far, as that both share a somewhat similar structure. Their cell structure, digestive systems and reproduction systems are completely different. Their 'Hair' mostly consists of leaves - all fully capable of photosynthesis, with some having flowers in them. Their skin can be either smooth like grass or rough like a bark, depending on the individual Cenn. Like trees some can live forever, although at some point they will stop to grow in size and appearance. When this happens again differs from individual to individual, though most seem to stay in their mid-twenties. Due to their plant-like structure they have a natural fear of fire, so developing space-faring technics took a long time.
  • Occupation: Botanist
  • Equipment/Tools:
    • Skecolian Rifle: A crystalline rifle.
  • Starting Gear:

  • Background: Mireille started her studies quite early - even for Cenne standards, while she did not produce any mayor breakthroughs or revolutions her professors nonetheless were very satisfied with the work she did. Her specialty is Xeno-Biology.

Given armor/weapon combination, I'm guessing warrior?

In a rather more on-topic subject, working on character template.

Nope, done. Voila. it's long.

Note: Everything (alien) is transliterated (somewhere) into IPA, so that everyone is on the same page as to how thing are pronounced.

Name: Zevai kes-Izvaizovyn Mezsh-iv-Kaas Izva Mezai Duvoztazsh an-Izshdan (/zɛvɑɪ kɛs iːzvɑɪzʊvɪːn mɛzʒ iːv kɑːs iːzvɑː mɛzɑɪ dyvʊztɑːzʒ ɑːn iːzʒdɑːn/) (Note: the "y" is not an english sound, it's like the "u" in french "tu". It's approximately "oo," or /uʊ/) (Which equates to: Zevai, given name. Izva Mezai and Dauvoztazsh, titles/accolades, in this case meaning, roughly, an archaic and highly poetic form of war hero, and a neither archaic nor poetic form of "world-burner," respectively. Incidentally, both were given for the same battle, by opposing sides. Menai-iv-Kaas, meaning "born of (the genetic material of) Menai and Kaas" or, more generally parent A, and parent B. And, with uterine replicators, "parents" doesn't mean one is male and the other is female. An-Izshdan, meaning "from Izshdan" or (in this case) "Assigned to Izshdan," which basically translates to either a tongue-in-cheek way of saying one was Reassigned to Antarctica or that one is an explorer. The latter, in this case. Kes-Mezaiveroyn, meaning (crew) of the Mezaiveroyn, her ship. Which, incidentally, roughly translates to "Distant Light (of Raas)" It's one word, because Azshtani is an agglutinative language. Mostly.) That's the condensed version, too, and the one put on official documents. The one read at court when introduced would be signficantly longer, and include the name of every ship she's ever served on (many) and everywhere she's ever been assigned (also many), and any epithet actually put on her honour roll (also a fair number), as well as her lineage going back five generations. Court introductions take forever. The briefest (formal) version you can get without being impolite is Zevai kes-Izvaizovyn Mezsh-iv-Kaas. For one who is familiar, i.e. on a first-name basis, the shortest would be Zevai kes-Izvaizovyn.

Age: Old. Apparent age: 20s, ish.

Gender: Female

Race: Azshtani (pl. Azshtani) (/ɑːzʒtɑːniː/)

Homeworld: Raas ( /rɑːs/)

Physical Traits/Appearance: Zevai has long, dark turquoise hair, dark(er than not) bluish-grey skin, pointy ears, steel-grey eyes.

Biology: Of important note: Azshtani use dexter amino acids. Precursor tinkering.
The Azshtani are, at their core, based on (proto-)humans abducted from Terra a few hundred millennia ago, along with a few animals, namely some early cats, (flighted) birds, and wolves, and genetically engineered to be more compatible with the (now dead) Precursors' biosphere by giving them dexter amino acids. Their "time of myths" was actually historical - they were used as cannon fodder for the Precursors, before the Precursors died off, or lost the war, or something. Raas, their homeworld, though that's technically a misnomer, because it's a huge fracking Dyson(or Niven) Ring, is where the Precursors deposited them. They are somewhat similar to humans, except for being on-average 2.3-2.6m in height, and having pointy ears. Oh, and they don’t tan, really (though they tend to have darker skin naturally), because their cells can repair the UV damage automatically. Their skin has a bluish tint, due to their blood being blue, which in turn is due to using copper instead of iron, again see: Precursor tinkering. Their muscles and bones don't atrophy in low-gravity, because genetic engineering (this time by themselves). Because of this, while with Vector Control Technology (see below) they could create artificial gravity, the only places that's useful are 1) luxury liners or 2) combat warships.

Occupation: First-in scout, and retired Fleet captain, amongst other things. Azshtani live for a very long time. Because of this, there's a "Four century rule," which basically means that one cannot remain in a career for more than four centuries. Except it's not actually four centuries, it's 376 years, for complicated historical reasons.

Equipment/Tools:

  • Vector Control Technology: HandWavey "reactionless" force-generation technology that uses the background of space as the second object - i.e. instead of one object exerting force on another, one object exerts a force on the fabric of the universe. Comes in personal versions, often used as minor telekinesis, everything from flipping a light switch from across the room to stopping bullets, or to replace/supplement a space suit, and ship-mounted versions, which can function as tractor/repulsor beams, or even a drive, though that requires copious amounts of fuel for the power source, and on the whole it's just easier to use a standard reaction drive, bulky propellant tanks and all.
  • Cybernetic Implants: Many. Both eyes, her left ear, neural implants such that she only "sleeps" for 3 hours a (terran) day, and even then she can remain active, letting one half of the brain "sleep" at a time (This, naturally, impairs judgement, but impaired judgement and alive is preferable to unimpaired judgement and not waking up due to a slit throat), implanted 'net link (i.e. wifi router), subdermal AR mesh force-feedback, cybernetic left arm (entire), right arm below the elbow, left leg, backup heart, spinal connections for powered armor, , each with varying levels of visibility.
  • First-in scout craft and lighthugger attachment. The scout craft itself is fairly small, just big enough for a two person scout team (or one and an AI, in this case) (i.e. can fit inside the hanger), while the lighthugger attachment is, well, designed to accelerate it to a rather large fraction of the speed of light then slow it back down. It's massive, (both figuratively and literally) what with all the power generation and propellant needs of accelerating something to a large fraction of the speed of light.
    • The reason for this is: The Azshtani, nor any species they've made contact with, have developed an FTL drive capable of being mounted on a starship.
      • Corollary: They have FTL, it's just in the form of static wormholes that need to be towed by STL methods. Also means any new systems need to be discovered through STL methods. They also have FTL comms (tangle-channels), for which a trans-temporal equivalent may or may not exist.
  • Distinct lack of universal translator. Well, there technically is one but it's basically a marginally more accurate version of google translate, and, as such, doesn't work on languages it isn't programmed with, and even then not particularly well. It's just easier to have someone who knows a ton of languages, or hope that everyone speaks the Empire's trade pidgin.
  • Magnetic Boots: Exactly What It Says on the Tin. Boots that allow normal walking (because it's more convenient) without artificial gravity. Assuming whatever you're walking on is magnetic.
  • A messenger bag-like thing full of assorted odds and ends that might come in handy. Everything from duct tape to spare batteries.
  • PZR CGP (coil/gyrojet pistol) the single largest pistol produced by Pokyr-Zaevan-Ravaai (PZR) armouries, one of the major arms producers in Azshtani space. It's massive. Put a stock on it and it could easily be mistaken for a short carbine. Can be loaded with and fired in two modes: coilgun, i.e. using magnetic acceleration, which is the more powerful of the two but has recoil. Something like, Desert Eagle amount of recoil. The other is as a gyrojet pistol, i.e. a miniature rocket launcher. Does less damage, but is completely recoilless, because rockets. Looks not unlike this [1].
  • LEFAEHS: Light External Force Amplifier/Extreme Hazard Suit. Combination of Latex Space Suit (base layer), armored Hazmat suit (goes over that), and powered exoskeleton (Gets attached around the armored Hazmat part).
  • Sword: Because of cultural reasons, she has belted to her hip at all times what amounts to a cavalry sabre.

Powers/Abilities:

  • Telekinesis: See: Vector Control Technology above.
  • Technopathy: See: Cybernetic implants above (mainly re: implanted wi-fi router) This allows remote connecting to computers and stuff. Also makes aurorae very trippy.
  • Functional Immortality: While not actually immortal, a few millennia of genetic engineering (along with being uplifted by the resident (in their cluster) Neglectful Precursors) plus cybernetic enhancement has left Zevai, like the rest of her species, immune to many forms of disease, ageless, with multiple redundant organs, and rapid healers (Within limits - can't regrow a limb or anything). This leads to them being rather difficult, but by no means impossible, to kill. The easiest way being separating their head from their body.

Background: Zevai was born a while ago and has a long life with many careers. She's forgotten more than most people will ever know. She's been a customs inspector, privateer, espatier (a better term for "space marines", is currently a first-in scout, expanding the borders of the empire. Most (in)famously, however, she was a Fleet captain. A captain during the first contact and subsequent war with the Jurinn Primacy. She made a decision - one that killed tens millions of people, and ultimately brought the war to an end, saving billions more. The one, and, everyone hopes to their object of worship, only, use of a strangelet bomb. Is it right to lay blame for this at her feet? Probably not, it was the Admiralty and Fleet Command which gave the order, but she pushed the button, launched the torpedo. She burned a world. Killed everyone on it. Destroyed the biosphere. Turned the surface into a molten slag. The Jurinn, and her Azshtani detractors, gave her the name Duvoztazsh. Worldburner. The government gave her a medal for the brilliant strategic and tactical maneuvering that allowed her to drop the bomb, and called her a war hero. She's worn both labels as a point of both pride and humility since.

(double-post because continued from above post, because seriously this is goddamn long and it cut off parts)

Backstory, cont.: Partly to get out of the public eye, okay, mostly to get out of the public eye, she retired from the Fleet and joined the Imperial Exploratory Service, got on a lighthugger, and shipped out in cryosleep. Forty years later, she woke up in an unfamiliar part of space that appeared to be inhabited by uncontacted sentients. (i.e. wherever we start in the RP.)

Miscellaneous/Notes (optional):

  • I am somewhat presuming that this is a first-contact scenario. Actually, blatantly assuming so.
    • Corollary to above: First contact is fun.
  • I'll probably think of other things.

Name: Vincent Marcanus Lucio
Age: 36
Gender: Male
Race: Human (Jamaican/Afro-Caribean)
Homeworld: Lyca IV
Physical Traits/Appearance: He is 5'12, slender, dark-skinned man. He wears an icey blue business suit, fedora with a blue plume, blue gloves and a long coat of blueish white.
Biology: Normal
Occupation: Retired Chairman/Diplomat
Equipment/Tools: Crucible, a portable laboratory which is stored in a large case. Can be put on his back to use or just as a normal laboratory. Contains all sorts of chemicals, reactants, substances and specimens.
Powers/Abilities: Can understand any language thanks to homemade translator in his ear and is good at diplomacy. Can also speak it but poorly as he doesn't practice it. His laboratory is used for any physical attacks, such as creating explosives, electricity, etcetera.
Background: Vincent Marcanus Lucio was born on Lyca IV to a pair of scientists from Earth. His mother was a Jamaican human rights researcher while his dad was a foremost scientist in chemical engineering. Eventually, Vincent became a scientist himself, coming up with ingenious ways for utilising the natural aquatic nature of the planet, inspired by the hydrological technology from Earth. He was made Chairman soon after. A well loved and well respected leader, several years ago it all fell apart due to a scandal now referred to as the 'Cash for Dignity report'. Disgraced, he was thrown out by unanimous vote, but allowed to remain as a diplomat due to his illustrious history. Despite this, he is moderately well liked, but people would like to forget about him and what he did.
Miscellaneous/Notes (optional): Is fed up with people not liking him enough to think of him as a friend so wants to leave, in between bouts of drinking.

It's still possible to kill her by, say, stopping both her hearts, etc. It's just harder. That's more what I was going for. In retrospect, yes, that could have been phrased better. Changing phrasing.
