I noticed that there wasn't a discussion for this, so I figured I'll do one cause I think this series is awesome. After looking into it, I realized there is also no page, so as Work Pages are a free launch, I would like to maybe use this thread to find tropes for the series.

Feel free to discuss the series, characters, ect.

I guess you could start with the main trio, that is Gortimer, Mel, and Ranger. Gortimer is eponymous character of the show.

Gortimer Gibbon's (nice name) gentle disposition, love for comic books, and fumbling around his crush (Abigail/Abigale) definitely makes him Adorkable. He's a likable Nice Guy, but he's nowhere near infallible. He seems to be The Kirk between super smart Mel and the daydreamy Ranger - but he finds himself needing their help when he's in trouble, and vice versa. While Gortimer has fears and insecurities like any other kid, he has proven to be very brave - and wise for that matter, particularly in his narrations at the beginning and end of each episode where he sows and then later delivers the Aesop. He has a much younger brother named Gardner, whom he was annoyed with in the pilot, but learns to be a Cool Big Bro to by the end of it. So, back to his name. While a bit unusual, it could still be considered pretty neat in it's own way (nobody on the show seems to question it, but the mayor found it appealing).

Mel Fuller is the one girl in the trio. Her full name is "Melody", but no one calls her that. Mel might be the smartest kid on normal street, or the smartest kid ever depending on who you ask. She is a total science whiz and her factual approach to situations most certainly makes her The Spock in this equation. The boys will often turn to her for a solution, which she'll readily provide. However, Mel can be a perfectionist - and her solutions don't always produce the desired results. She is plenty Adorkable herself, just watch Mel vs. The Fickle Fortune Teller of Fate. She likes magic acts and throwing scary parties in honor of "blood moon eclipses". Her parents have a lot of achievements and rewards, which intimidates Mel at times.

Ranger Bowen is the resident Cloudcuckoolander. He likes making loud noises and putting a smile on everyone's face. But it gets better, he isn't The Ditz! Not even close! In fact, he's Genre Savvy and (according to his mom) good at math! After so many shows have rounded out a cast of characters with one being incomprehensibly dim - Ranger proves that this doesn't always have to be the case, and it's realistic. Ranger is excitable and a bit of a Motor Mouth, but out of all three kids, he seems to be the most preservative of their friendship. He'll try to extinguish a potential fight if he sees one coming and he doesn't want their bonds to change (e.g. through romance). This makes him The McCoy. Ranger is usually a pretty cuddly character, both figuratively and literally. He glomps Gortimer in the pilot episode and in "The Mystery of the Blood Moon Eclipse".
