Ok, per mod decision, the purpose of this thread is to scrutinize and clean up pages about web sites. Other Sites, especially, has become a catch-all for "my favorite web site that I feel like pimping."
THE FOUR NOBLE TRUTHS:
- A Web Site Is Not A Work For Troping Purposes: A website can contain tropable content, but the site itself does not automatically have a place with us simply by existing.
- A Web Site That Is Not Tropable Can Sometimes Be Repurposed: It may have a place as a Useful Notes page, or serve as an index if it hosts a lot of works that we do trope.
- User Antics Are Not Tropable: Trolls, mod decisions, forum drama. Such are Troper Tales and sources of spiritual decay. They must be purged, even from acceptable pages.
- User Created Content Is Potentially Tropable: But most of it has its own categories already, such as Game Mod, Fan Fiction, or Journal Roleplay.
Put pages you believe should be completely cut in the crowner at the bottom. If you believe a page can be saved or migrated, make a post with details. Other Sites contains the primary targets right now, but any page about a web site should be scrutinized

Maybe we could turn the Kickstarter page into a Useful Notes page as well, one on the broader subject of crowdfunding, how it contributes to media production (particularly indie media), and how it shows up in media.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Yeah, a crowdfunding UN page would make sense, but treating individual sites as distinct works is pointless.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"100% agree that Kickstarter and Patreon are not works.
Compared to how the Kickstarter page looks now, what would we need to change about it to make it a Useful Notes page?
Crossout the "Notable" and the trope list, and... I think that's it.
Done. The Kickstarter page is now a Useful Notes page instead of a work. All subpages have been cutlisted. All we need to do now is change the namespace on the red links from Website/Kickstarter to Useful Notes/Kickstarter.
Any feedback on this? I plan to request the cutting of the examples in the "cut" folder (probably via sandbox) if no one raises any objections, but would appreciate feedback on the "not sure" folder.
Do you delete the website page, now that that's done? And how to proceed with UN/Patreon and/or UN/Crowdfunding?

Vehicle-Based Characterization | Grief-Induced Split | Locker MailMoving Kickstarter is a good start, but I was suggesting that we merge all of that into UsefulNotes.Crowdfunding and include Kickstarter and Patreon as specific cases. We could make them redirects to ease the transition.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Does Patreon count as crowdfunding? Or is it more of a subscription service? Or both?
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Patreon is primarily used by content creators to get paid monthly by fans, but very few projects use it to finance the development.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupIt's still under the umbrella of crowdfunding.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I personally wouldn't group before-the-fact Kickstarter with after-the-fact Patreon. But I think a crowner would be a cleaner way to settle this.

A Useful Notes article would be discussing the general phenomenon of crowdfunding. It would contain sections for before-the-fact, as in Kickstarter, and after-the-fact, as in Patreon, plus examples of each being referenced in media.
I could write it in about half an hour if it were my project. This isn't difficult.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Dream Logos Wiki isn't linked anywhere on this wiki, all of the tropes describe the userbase (except maybe Spin-Off), and there's a bit of ROCEJ involved:
- Bowdlerise: The staff of both the Dream Logos and Fiction Wikis do this a lot. In the case of Driller's ownership, yes. Censorship on the site was significantly stepped up. How about the staff banning you for saying something negative about them? And oh God, what if they come after this page?
- Hostile Show Takeover: In 2015, Susumu Takajima adopted the site. This led to the original owner, Kaylor Blakley, trying to get rid of him, but all the other users kicked his butt out.
I'd nuke it.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupAny feedback on this? Otherwise I'll request for the "cut" examples to be cut and leave the "not sure" examples alone. (aside from commenting out the ZCE)

The "Cut" ones are okay to cut. The Ascended Glitch doesn't sound right. I can't think of a trope/article that covers "thing fans made that the devs eventually integrate" that isn't also Fanon, Fan Nickname, etc.
Okay, I'll just lump that in with the "cut" ones until/unless a matching trope is found for it.
Does Wiki.Homestar Runner Wiki have meaningful amount of content to need own page?
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupInclined to think no.
Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing.Recently, moments pages for Twitter were cut and salted. I have a feeling some items in the YMMV page are also troping real life.
Just needs a pruning to remove anything not directly associated with the platform itself, if possible.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportThe article Mafia Scum was just created by new troper ~wizardastronaut. From the description, this appears to be a fansite with no published creative content. Trope examples are about the site and its members.
If it hosts roleplays and those roleplays are tropable, they should be written as their own articles.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"MafiaScum as a website is about as tropable as Trouble Cube, which is to say it isn't.

Could Patreon could be a Useful Notes page instead of a Website (work) page? It is something IRL that directly pertains to fiction (funding the production of fiction, namely) and also shows up in it (many web video creators asking to donate on Patreon in their videos or in their descriptions).
