It's weird. Unlike the other Youtubers who survived political drama bullshit such as Pewdiepie or Jontron, who reacted by doing completely different topics altogether, Mr. Enter has embraced it wholeheartedly.

I have no idea why he thinks this is his wheelhouse. He's admitted to be generally uneducated and noted before that political videos tend to lose him subscribers

Or he thinks that what he's saying is so important that it's worth losing subscribers. I see that from a lot of left-wing youtubers, but usually what they're saying will lose them subscribers is things like "this is bigotry and it is bad, no ifs ands or buts".

Also Mr. Enter simply isn't as big as Pewds or Jontron, of course he won't weather a rightward turn as well. And I'd bet a lot of the base that those guys picked up because of pivoting right have already written off Mr. Enter as "autistic manbaby" or something like that. So Enter doesn't have anyone to replace the audience he's alienating.

As someone who used to get consumed by negativity all the time, I'm gonna say that going down this path isn't going to end well for him. Cancelling Admirable Animations, focusing exclusively on negative stuff like Animated Atrocities, all this political talk involving stuff he knows nothing about even as he loses fans for it (And unlike Mr. Enter, I stay out of talk involving serious stuff I don't know much about, so I won't say any more on that matter), his weird anti mask shit, the conspiracy theories..... All that combined negativity is going to make him bitter and unhappy. He really should've just stuck to talking about animation, even if he still has other fuck ups with that too (His videos on DC Super Hero Girls and that one TMNT show come to mind, even if I haven't seen the latter).

I wonder if Growing Around's failure played a part in his increasing negativity over the years. He seems really insistent on making it a thing (I don't understand the appeal of it myself or why he sees "so much potential" in the concept), but trying to make it into an actual cartoon was never going to end in anything but failure, and by all accounts his book about it wasn't any good either. Part of the issue is that the premise of GA could only maybe work as some wacky bizarre alternate world that the main character of another story (say for instance a thing all about traveling through different worlds) temporarily ends up in for an episode/chapter or two, and that's a big maybe. An entire series about it just can't hold up because of how nonsensical the premise is and the loads of Fridge Logic and Fridge Horror that comes about when you think about it for even a few seconds.

I unsubbed from him for the reasons mentioned before (and his general negativity and pessimism), but yesterday he uploaded a review of The Lion King (2019) that felt more like a return to form for what we liked about his previous reviews. The video has him interacting with a happy optimistic younger version of himself to contrast his negative attitude, and ends on an optimistic note compared to his other recent stuff.

I'm re-subbing for now, and all I can do is cross my fingers and hope his later stuff will be like this.

I'm gonna have to pass because I've seen enough people shitting on this movie lately. That and I'm saving that for watching Your Movie Sucks's review of it that's coming sooner rather than later.

Ya know, gotta give credit for him on trying to work through his issues at least.

Like so many people when they life starts wearing them down bad they just give up or quit or just double down on what makes them feel bad.

I think I'm mostly worried by implication that he doesn't have much of support network. Working through issues alone is the worst.

I hope he can get therapy and in the meantime his extreamly impressionable younger fanbase doesn't listten to him about not wearing masks and taking hydroxocloroquine if they are worried about symptoms of Covid-19.

He’s beginning to sound like Bill Maher. Unfunny, “anti-woke”, and has a lot of seriously bad takes yet is somehow very popular. Seriously, his PC video wouldn’t be out of place in one of those New Rules Maher does.

i wont blame him as even running a small server is astressful but it will be removing another way to contact him

Basically someone told Mr.Enter they liked his work,and he said they had the wrong person or server

"do not ping me, ever" Uhhh that's kinda an unreasonable demand, unless "do not ping me" is his permanent status in the sidebar. And if that's the case, then he shouldn't be modding a server.

So the thing that's kind of shitty about that, you can disable ping notifications in your own personal settings to avoid situations like that were you are getting pinged randomly by random peeps.

So not only is Enter being a dick about it but his issue there has an easy solution that most people with fanbases whom have their own Discord servers use.

I'm going to take Enter's side on that image, it could easily be fake in some way. If it is real, that's a stain on him as a content creator. Anyone should be willing to receive a compliment even if abrupt.

Alright, so he did a video talking about the Discord thing. For those who want a TL;DW:

1: He has a rule on his server not to ping him, since he can't keep track of every single ping. Also, he wants those kind of "I love your videos" comments posted in the General channel, not that channel, hence the "wrong channel" comment.

2: Star Wars Fan is NOT the person who uploaded that screenshot, and still continues to have a good relationship with Enter (as shown when you look at the conversation in context; they apologized and Enter accepted their apology).

3: That conversation is from months ago, and was screencapped when a bunch of trolls raided his server recently.

So, a shitty year warrants an appropriate year-end marathon: Enter's no stranger to He Panned It, Now He Sucks!, so he's decided to double way down on that with the next four Animated Atrocities:

One of the most popular Rick and Morty episodes, one of the most successful anime movies, one of the few well-received revisitings of the last decade, and a show he’s already been shit on for not liking. This is definitely not looking good for him.

Yeah this is not gonna be good.

Especially Rise which has really gotten intense & is already getting "Man more people should have given this a chance."

Been a while since I last watched him, didn't he officially join the alt-right recently?

Is he just making these choices to try and offend people or does he have a genuine argument to make? Let’s be fair, attacking popular targets is how a lot of people get themselves notoriety (look at the old The Spoony Experiment before it collapsed). Conversely, many of the angry critics of the world found the value of their opinions significantly reduced if they take on too many popular targets (case in point - Doug Walker), but I genuinely don’t know how much respect Mr. Enter’s opinion commands at this point, if any.

He is right about people being really overly zealous and toxic about fiction opinions though

^^Not as far as I know, he mostly seems to have great anxiety about lockdowns and mask use and such which overlaps with them
