Not so much of a brief tagline, but it still works for me.
This is Occupied Space.

"Doki Doki Lit. Club" is a happy game where nothing bad happens. seriously tho? not for the faint of heart.Heavy the burden, strong the heart
If you find the text above offensive, don't look at it.edited 27th Aug '14 6:46:34 PM by eagleoftheninth
Echoing hymn of my fellow passerine | Art blog (under construction)Drylander: The water is rising.
By now, it should be clear to all except the most dense of us that sheep are secretly conspiring to kill us all and steal our pants.Nope, thought of a better one.
In time, all will be made clear.
"Doki Doki Lit. Club" is a happy game where nothing bad happens. seriously tho? not for the faint of heart.For a Chains Recursive Fanfiction focusing on a Revenant Apocalypse;
"When the zombies are the heroes, you know you've done wrong"
For my main constructed universe;
"The war for the Empire has ended. The war in the sky has begun."

Now everyone pat me on the back and tell me how clever I am!The Everlasting Mythos in general: "A new power is rising in the cosmos."
The Neverending series specifically: "He's everywhere."
The Undying series specifically: "The dead will lay the living to rest."
The Endless series specifically: "Because destiny says so."
Level 3 Social Justice Necromancer. Chaotic Good. For a Stylistic Suck fanfic one of my characters writes:
Stargoers 17: Vampyre Sobers 2.0
Ownlee evil vampires drink; Ownlee drink evil vampires.
Also HOLY FaCKING SHeT!!!!!!!For my current project, I'm considering: "A heartwarming story of the adversity and trials of adolescence—not really, though."
or
"Almost based on a true story".
Weird in a Can (updated M-F)Always remember, a good Tagline tells you something about the story. It's the whole story in one sentence, or possibly two short sentences.
"In SPACE nobody can hear you SCREAM"
You don't need to sit through two hours of face-rape to know that's gonna be a sci-fi horror movie. Hell, you don't need to sit through two minutes of trailer. You've got the whole movie in seven words.
For my ongoing project, it might be "Heroism and Psychopathy just had a love-child. In prison."
What does that tell? Well, it tells you that there are going to be crazy heroes, that they're going to be very dangerous, that the setting is prison, that it's going to be adult... and thanks to the phrasing, that the story has elements of humor in it.

Paradigm Watch: Reality is in the eye of the beholder.
or: An apprentice grim reaper, a mad science superhero, and a muggle deal with inter-masquerade turf wars.
You must agree, my plan is sheer elegance in its simplicity! My TumblrOh, I thought this was going to be a thread about loglines, which are infinitely more important to good writing than taglines.
For my currently unnamed Pokemon Super Fic:
Forget everything you think you know.
Yeah, I know it sounds generic, but the fic plays around with the standard Pokemon-game-plot formula, so I thought it'd work anyway.
The logline: A cynical intrepid reporter must assemble a team of superheroes to save the world from its prophesied destruction by the legendary Pokemon.
By the way, why isn't there a thread for loglines yet?

Loglines... For something that seems so important, I've never heard of these before. Lemme give it a shot with my WIP RPG Maker game...
A devil-may-care mercenary crosses blades with an enigmatic order of knights as she guides a young prince on his quest to avenge his father.
And while I'm at it, let me throw together a tagline as well.
Never lose sight of what you seek.
Are you ready? Go live! You may not have heard the name, but I'm willing to bet you've encountered a great number of loglines, given they are the means by which promoters of many forms of media attempt to attract your attention to a particular product - quite often found in TV guides.
The ability to sum up your work as one is also a key skill to have if you hope to pitch your work to a publisher, since a short synopsis that encapsulates the essence of your work is critical to gaining the editor's attention (and also showcasing your ability to use language in the process).
Yeah, I'm willing to bet I've seen a few log lines without knowing the term for them. Are they like high concepts? Because I think I might've been calling them that.
Are you ready? Go live!"One Piece meets Lord of the Rings"
I think they are, or at least there are overlaps. The intended audience may vary but at the core, it's designed to pique interest, convey information succinctly and 'sell' the product to someone.
Sometimes the focus might be on one goal more than the others, but they all distill the essence of the work/episode into an easily digested and (hopefully) tasty package designed to leave you wanting more.
I hadn't heard the word 'loglines' until reading it earlier in this thread, generally called them 'blurbs', 'core concepts', 'episode summaries' or 'hooks' depending on where/how they were used.
Either way, I'm definitely gonna keep these in mind going forward. If I try my hand at more, I'll bring them here.
Are you ready? Go live! The most extra tag line I ever made for a project goes like this: "In the war for the human condition, there are no innocents."
....
How edgy XD
