I think it's also because the outtakes depicted the characters as actors, and thus spoiled the illusion that the characters and story are real.
It's sorta like how Peter Sellers hated the outtakes at the end of Being There.

With all the memes about women choosing a bear over a man, Hollywood might wanna get on an 'East of the Sun and West of the Moon' adaptationYeah, my guess is also that it was just too expensive to keep doing. The Muppets still do it, but the Muppets don’t cost a mint per second of puppetry.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.I always felt that animated out-takes feel rather faked, by their very nature. Live action out-takes are fun because they are real bloopers. Animated bloopers are just made up outright. VA bloopers would be much more fun in that regard.
There was that one clever Warner Brothers cartoon though that was an entire film of bloopers and behind-the-scenes work of a classic cartoon, but that worked better because it was more involved, and the Looney Tunes characters have always been treated more like actors than like characters to begin with.
Optimism is a duty.Weren't the Lion King outtakes made out of real studio outtakes animated?
I get this is definitely not the case with the some of the Pixar ones (like the Roz surprise ones or the now banned one with Stinky Pete and the Barbies) but it would make sense if some bulk of it was built that way.
I admit to liking the ones that got good gag use of the characters, like villains such as Hopper and Randall being a Mean Character, Nice Actor or, again, the Roz surprise Running Gag.

What's the "Roz surprise"?
I smell magic in the air. Or maybe barbecue. When she appears in unexpected places in the bloopers such as in the "shave scene" and the closet scene
"Bingo! If two species hate each other, they will wipe each other out on their own."Y'know, it's funny how it was considered a tradition for Pixar movies to have gag reels, when really that was only for a period of three films (A Bug's Life, Toy Story 2, and Monsters, Inc.). And even then, I think they only added for the video releases, since I don't think they were on the original theatrical releases.
Toy Story 2 didn't have the blooper reel originally, but it was later advertised to have it while still in theatres. I also remember Toy Story 2 having an ad for Monster's Inc where they go to the wrong bedroom because Mike had a crush on a girl in elementary school and didn't pay attention to geography. This of course would later be completely contradicted by MU having Mike and Sulley meet in college and having Mike be a straight A student.

The Howard Ashman Documentary "Howard" is arriving on Disney+ on August 7th. Here's the poster.
Bad news about some certain attractions:
I didn't even know Rivers of Light was ever a thing...
On the flipside, Stitch's Great Escape was slightly less of a surprise since that was said to be half-dead anyway. Wonder if they'll replace it with anything. (*cough cough* Tron ride *cough cough*)
I doubt they're getting a tron ride. At least in that spot anyway. Last I heard, they were getting a Tron Rollercoaster from one of the Asian Parks (Hong Kong?) so I can't quite see them getting two in quick succession. Even if there's a sequel in the works, Disney also doesn't tend to put too much in motion until it's actually a financial success to do so.
Isn't Magic Kingdom already getting a Tron Ride?
The closure of Stitch's Great Escape isn't a huge surprise. The writing's been on the wall on that for a long time.
To my understanding, the Stitch space isn't large enough to host most kinds of attractions. It will either be turned into a meet and greet location (which I think it was already being used as) or a shop.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?Honestly I think that they should make it into an Aliens attraction.
Didn't it used to be an Alien attraction, or was that a different ride?
The Protomen enhanced my life.It was a knock-off Alien attraction, because Disney couldn't get the rights to it. It was essentially the Stitch ride but much more intense.
I thought Stitch's Great Escape was long gone by now. Or did I mix that up with Disney World's version of the ride?
Jason has come back to kill for Mommy. It was gutted ages ago; we've seen pics of the Stitch Animatronic that had been completely skinned and trashed. I think this is more or less a formality.
They got the rights to use Alien in The Great Movie Ride. The reason ExtraTERRORestrial was a knock off was because Eisner wanted to use Alien for a super scary ride but the Imagineers were like "oh god no" and told him to chill.
The ride only existed in Disney World.

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with? How is nobody familiar with Rivers Of Light at Animal Kingdom? That project has been well-known in the Disney Parks Community for years now (2013). I remember it was heavily discussed on WDW Magic and the amount of delays it took to finally open. I remember that show was the main draw for Animal Kingdom's night visit.

Yeah, I saw it there in December 2018. It was a decent show, but it's no World of Color. I would think it would be more of an indefinite hiatus, since they're not doing shows that pack in viewers, and in this case the park is closing before dark anyway.
I was pretty sure Stitch was closed already; I guess this just makes it official.
Not sure how well known this is, but apparently when they were testing out the CG in Long John Silver's robot arm for Treasure Planet, they used animation of Captain Hook from Peter Pan to see how well they could blend 2D with CG.
I remember seeing that as a kid on the Treasure Planet DVD.
Plus they're probably costly on top making an animated movie
New theme music also a box
