All right, that's totally cool then. Pressure on Berserk Button falling dramatically. See, adequate communication can solve anything! <cue ultra-dorky thumbs-up at fellow tropers>
While this whole action has gone well beyond the The Second Google Incident , one should nevertheless not forget that it all started because of Naughty Tentacles - a trope page, not a work page. So I think work pages should also be part of this...
Unbent, Unbowed, Unbroken. Unrelated ME1 FanficAnd I'm pretty convinced that somebody Jumped Off The Slippery Slope in their overreaction to that, too - really makes me wonder just what the heck that person was searching for in the first place, that they didn't expect that to show up? Of course, that's off-topic here, which I presume would be A Bad Thing.

So your opposition to also examining trope pages is trying to keep the clean-up as limited as possible? Hmpf.
Unbent, Unbowed, Unbroken. Unrelated ME1 FanficNo, that's not it. Not limited, focused. Finish the main order of business at hand (which specifically is works) and then the pitchfork-wielding villagers can go looking for new targets.
In other words, I'm trying to keep 5P's already stupidly-huge workload from getting bigger.

- puts down pitchfork* I'm sure many of the works will be easy to get through. It's the tropes, especially the lampshades and parodies of them in non porn media that will be hard. *goes back to running around with a pitchfork*
What happens with new pages? There are works no one thought to make a page for (or that don't exist yet) but when someone does that shit needs to be shut down faster than an IJAM thread about abortion. Do we just assume someone will flag it quickly?
The child is father to the man —OedipusIf you're talking about new pages on stuff that violates the new content policy, flagging is definitely recommended.
That functionality is still on the works.
"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."Tropes have a perfectly good mechanism for being dealt with, though. That mechanism is called the Trope Repair Shop.
Except in extreme cases (as in, we can't find any non-porn examples, or otherwise inherently can't be non-porn or non-pedo, which is not the case for Naughty Tentacles), they shouldn't land here.
A trope page passed to the panel can be cleaned and/or redefined instead of deleted or kept as-is. So, it's theoretically possible to (1) use the panel to see whether it can be repaired or inherently pornographic, or (2) to go to TRS, then use the panel to ensure the redefinition is kosher.
I think with broken, risque tropes the panel and TRS can work in tandem. In theory, anyway.

The words above are to be read as if they are narrated by Morgan Freeman. So what about works that get cut, all wicks get deleted? the redlinks removed to just be italicized?
Talking about on the trope pages themselves and if the example is a hundred 100% clean examples and tropes like a work having a stereotypical Student Council President.
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!Images should be fine to keep, though not linked. I don't know for certain about examples.
The words above are to be read as if they are narrated by Morgan Freeman.Legal Jailbait is fine. I've cleaned it and watchlisted it myself. There is no pedo-gushing there.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerWell depending on exactly what gets cut and such I can see a lot of people still adding examples to tropes (even though the works do not exist) as people watch said series and such....
A lot of stupidly popular series are getting put on the list to review most licensed in the US. (which is very very troubling and got me very stressed out...)

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!Perhaps we should make a rule about ratings? For example, if it's rated PG-13 or less, you can't add it to the list? Do something similar for other genres (I don't know the ratings of those genres, except for television, which we could put a TV-14 or less on, possibly)
Go play Kentucky Route Zero. Now.That's a plausible suggestion there.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Wow, that's actually rather reasonable... Anyone else?

The words above are to be read as if they are narrated by Morgan Freeman.Yes, but it goes into the content policy thread.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanAlready hollered it there.
Happy I could contribute with something. On top of that, most of the genres without official ratings systems (webcomics, fanfiction, etc.) are where most of the really bad stuff is.
Go play Kentucky Route Zero. Now.I'd like to hear a mod's opinion on this. Helps to avoid some of the more absurd, ironic suggestions that are there only to make a point.
The words above are to be read as if they are narrated by Morgan Freeman. For Anime though they normally don't have ratings you have shows that air at Otaku O'Clock and those that are not.
IMO if it is licensed by a US company (which is what we have been measuring things by) it can not be put on the list.... Pedoshit would never get a license in the US.
Anyway greatly greatly agree. (note: Sailor Moon was actually never rated for TV.... lol.)

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!I'm honestly in favour, but I'd like to discuss it with the other mods at first as well.

Obviously works take priority here. I just wanted to ask if the mechanism was in place for eventual trope review, and I don't want to just cut list it if we can get the 5P to look at it. I've been watching and sometimes posting in the relevant threads since day one of this incident and maybe I missed something about trope review so I just wanted clarification.
That trope already went through TRS at least once, if I recall correctly.
