I'm pretty sure Showgirls is safe because it was made for Mainstream American audiences right?
Dutch LesbianI'm pretty sure that Thirty Hs is too nonsensical to qualify as porn.
Reaction Image RepositoryPlease, that fic is a literary achievement of monumental value.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerYou're kidding, right?
Right?
"Yup. That tasted purple."I have to agree with Lu. There's just too much awesome contained in such a minimalistic writing style.
Full Battle ModeGetting back to what this thread is supposed to be about:
Defense for VisualNovel.Kichiku Megane (this applies only to the main game, I haven't seen the R spinoff):
- The game has a considerable amount of fairly explicit (full-body nudity but no genitalia) and often abusive sex, but the plot routes are primarily relationship dramas. Like most visual novels it's light on interactivity and most of the "action" is talking-heads rather than doing badass things, but playtime is largely about conversations with the love interest, finding out about their backstories, and your internal monologue. It's admittedly quite dark; the plots usually start with some kind of Non Con and most of the bad ends feature murder.
@Japanese Teeth: It's humor porn, made to titillate your zygomatic muscles. And perhaps your sphincters, because I am on the verge of pissing myself with laughter...
@Lu and Encrypted: hug me my brothers!
Sorry. Derail over. I'll just go laugh on my own a little.

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.Right?
@whale: I'm not sure Showgirls was made for anybody; before the much-needed negativity crackdown, the description made a point of explaining how godawful it was.
But it doesn't succeed as porn, and has a plot.
The child is father to the man —OedipusAm I wrong for having enjoyed the movie, then? It's not like I'd allow my kids to see it, of course, but I didn't find it that horrifying.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I'd like to add a defense for Monster Girl Quest. Now, I'll be the first to admit that it has heavy H content. The issue comes with the plot. In fact, the H scenes are usually found in the game's dozens of bad endings. If you avoid the bad endings, there are only about 5 H scenes in a ~5-10 hour game. The premise is a bit alienating as well, but for an H game it has a pretty deep plot.
If anybody else has any input, go right ahead.

Read all of my fanfics!Fighteer is on the side of lenience?
Looking at that list, didn't AMV Hell Zero contain hentai and such? I'm just asking, I never saw it.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.I would recommend erring on the side of prohibiting H-Games. If something is written for the erotic market, that alone can be considered criteria for being removed, if you ask me-assuming, of course, it doesn't have a bleached underpants rendition that's clean.
I mean, Akane-Iro seems like a good example.
AMV Hell Zero was nothing but porn, as I recall.

In defense of Comics Nix, his works are so transparently intended as parody & designed to embody Refuge in Audacity and Crosses the Line Twice, that it might merit the kind of slack extended to works like Drawn Together, Strangers With Candy, and The Aristocrats.
AMV Hell 0 and Divided by Zero were both porn. The 3, 4, and 5 are all okay, as far as I know. Just rewrite the page to be about those.
Reaction Image Repository@Fighteer: It's So Bad, It's Good, at least.
The child is father to the man —Oedipus@The Handle: My feelings as to what I find personally acceptable and what I think is appropriate for TV Tropes are different things. There are works I enjoy that I would never want to write an article on. I'm approaching this with a sympathetic eye toward people who like the works themselves, but not towards people who would make excuses to trope about them.
And there are some things that I find absolutely reprehensible and would never willingly watch or write about. But my personal preferences are not the point. I do not, for the record, think that Showgirls should be cut, but I can appreciate the reasons for recommending it.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"It got a cinema release, that kinda implies it was made for someone.
Dutch LesbianOkay, let's cut off the Showgirls discussion. It's on the list.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Wow, dude, don't go Quasar on us, I just meant to do some gentle teasing. I'm sorry, okay?
As for AMV Hell Zero and so on, should we keep a mention that they exist?
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.We mods are a bit touchy on these subjects ATM. We've been dealing with trolls, flames, and whining for days. Add in tone being difficult to tell on the Internet, and...
Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.Just trying to keep the conversation on track. I enjoy the digressions but want to set a good example. No hard feelings.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I would think that off-hand references to pornish works are fine, so long as they don't have their own pages (and don't take up dominate space on a page).
Remember-the wiki doesn't want to be an index of porn.

I'd say references to porn are fine. We aren't trying to wipe the thought off the map, we're just unable to trope it.
Woot, 1000 posts! @___@

Ohgod, ohlordy... Thirty Hs is being scrutinized...
Oh, the poor, poor bastards*... I don't think their minds are ready to scan that thing...
I mean, there's planet raping. With a fucksowrd chainsaw electric guitar. Made of the menstrual blood of a billion headless virgins in hell. Or something...
EDIT: Okay, according to the article, "Nobody ever actually gets raped over the course of the story.", despite there not be a rape ape but the Rape Ape, and Rape Radbury. I couldn't tell, myself, I just can't keep my concentration up... or my eyes tear-free, for that matter...
