[up][up] I was just thinking that if it's possible to do, in general, it will head off the need to keep looking for bad outlinks — I'm considering scenarios like vandalism. If all outlinks pass through a warning page, that might keep the site safe from Those Who Would Complain until vandal/porn/illegal links can be found and purged.

In the near term... is there a specific URL (or fragment thereof) that we might be looking to delete?

I am not a mod, and I don't play one on TV.

[up][up]Even the NSFG pages still have ads from other providers, and I guess that even they have their limits. But I am really not an expert on that matter.

[up]A tool to scan this site for fishy outlinks (like Danbooru)? Could be a good idea?

Big question: how much room are we going to give to Moral Guardians? There's no reason why they can not suddenly decide we can not show or talk about wet sari scenes at the moment. Then comes leg, any leg, and perhaps what else.

I think it is a very important problem to address.

[up]So much room as we have to do to keep the wiki alive. On the last page, FE said that he didn't consider their arguments valid but the financial support is more important here.

Any chance of transplanting the sectionectomied example lists to Fetish Fuel Wiki?

[up][up][up] Possibly — no doubt it's the best way to keep the page if we want to — but ask Fast Eddie first.

[up] Moral guardians with weak arguments threatening financial stuff, if I'm understanding everything right.

Which Moral Guardians, BTW? Eddie has been vague on who exactly is complaining. Is it parents of wayward kids, or Google/the other ad providers?

{Yes, it was too far, and no, hottipping it does not make it OK. —Madrugada}

What next banning real works? deleting tropes? The slippery slope is getting pretty freaken far here. We have the NSFG banner that we don't seem to be using... what happened to that other ad provider?

Anyway it really should have a full description with related tropes and such at the very least it is a freaken real trope.

Please be patient until we get this sorted out. There'll be plenty of time for ranting and raving if this doesn't blow over.

Raso, calm down, man. Even the Big E himself doesn't like this anymore than you do, but the site's very survival basically has a laser sight painted on it.

Most of the time when complaints are made the person making the complaint is guaranteed anonymity.

It's possible that trolls are involved; naming them just gives them the visibility they want.

I didn't write any of that.

I wasn't concerned about particular names, just the general identity of the group(s) that complained. If they're trolls, then shame on Google if they actually fell for their ploy.

@64: A general, non-identifying summary such as "complaints that links to NSFW images were found, threats were made to petition Google to cut off ad revenue" would help the rank-and-file understand what's going on.

If I recall, we no longer do ads directly with Google, we use someone else (which from time to time still posts Google ads).

Well, for now, we tiptoe cautiously. If it turns out that it's a case of trolling, then we can judiciously restore the questionable links. If not, we will need to keep appropriate limits in mind.

Also, even if it is legit, I imagine the mods have cut the examples to get clarification on what can and cannot be listed. Once this blows over, unless things were absolutely ridiculous, they'll be back. There are times where it's better safe than sorry.

Apologies if this was answered, but I didn't see it anywhere: Why was the description gutted? I'm with Jicragg, it was good before. It's barely even a stub now; at least add a related tropes line.

(Just a note: You CAN see the removed section be looking at the Article History. I know that's not exactly a good way to make up for it, but it's a start.)

For now, why not move some of those tropes' example pages to the Fetish Fuel Wiki? They seem like they'd be right at home there, if not here.
