Removing complaining, bashing and other negativity from the wiki

Oh man I've had a problem with Fallen Creator for the longest time. In what world do Elton John and George Lucas belong on the same page as Roman Polanski and Woody Allen?

Yeah, Elton John in particular made me sit up and WTF at my computer screen.

We also used to have the entire square Enix company which is odd as I thought they've done well even now.

Oh god, Elton John does not deserve to be on that page.

I don’t know who Elton John even is? But he must be pretty popular if everyone is objecting to him on Fallen Creator.

The artist behind songs like "Crocodile Rock", "Rocket Man", "Candle in the Wind", "Don't Go Breaking My Heart", and the songs in The Lion King. I'm sure you've heard his stuff before even if you don't know a lot about him. He's an amazingly talented artist, and he certainly didn't "fall".

His bibliographical film that came out this year also earned like 190 million on a budget of 40 million which is actually pretty impressive.

I don't know why he's on that list.

Sent a request on the Locked Pages thread to remove Elton John due to the consensus here.

DethroningMoment.Fan Works seems to have the same properties/issues as the cut Horrible.Fan Fiction.

Say, aren't dethroning moments supposed to be for fans to reveal what they think their worst moments in the show are, not the people who hate the thing in general?

They're supposed to be, but I've seen tons of entries that are like 'the entire episode' or 'the whole show.'

Fallen Creator I think could legitimately use a short-term cleanup thread, as it's been locked for the better part of a decade. Elton John is far from the only person on it whose worst sin is an arguable Dork Age or two, listed side by side with people like Allen and Polanski who are legitimately walking scandals, and for that matter, the Weinstein Effect means the latter category could itself use some new additions - Weinstein himself, Kevin Spacey, James Woods, Brett Ratner, etc.

Other examples to remove from Fallen Creator:

• Brad Mc Quaid (RIP) (merely disappointing on his other projects, and relatively inoffensively)
• Eric Chahi (inoffensive inactivity)
• Data Design Interactive (DDI didn't rise very far in the first place)
• Sega (similar reasons as Square Enix)

Yeah, I feel like Fallen Creator is case where locking the page has actually impeded cleanup efforts. Given that So Bad, It's Horrible subpages are not locked despite being full-on bashing, I'd be fine to unlock this page and keep an eye on it. Alternatively, does anyone want to copy the current contents onto Sandbox.Fallen Creator?

Browsing DethroningMoment.Fan Works I found a lot of creator-bashing and Flame Bait as well as links to blogs that fall under fan works, some instances of bashing the original works, and at least one Moment of a Real-Person Fic. I think it should be cut for the same reasons Horrible.Fan Fiction was—the entire thing attacks too many people too personally and gets worse the more you read.

Ugh, I hate Mineta and even I think that example is too bash-y.

Was that example added during the anime run?

Remove Square Enix and Sega from Fallen Creator. I think Harmony Gold should be added to that page. They used to be best known for making the beloved Robotech, and now they're not doing much besides blocking Macross from getting released in the States based on a copyright they don't even own according to Japanese courts.

Oh, they also made the first English Dub of Dragon Ball ever.

Would Tell Tale Games also count as a Fallen Creator? Their games used to be loved but now they're hated due their games being the same, easy garbage and the mistreatment of their employees, and in general being a hallow shell of their former selves now that they've been acquired.

Never Live It Down has a problem with tropers using it to bash on characters, creators, and fandoms they dislike. I dislike Mineta also, but that example is too complain-y and should be removed.

Also, the Lying Creator example on Trivia.Pokemon Sword And Shield I brought up on the previous page got worse:

• Lying Creator: Infamously so. Junichi Masuda and Shigeru Ohmori's stated reasons for the National Dex cut was that they were trying to give individual Pokemon "higher fidelity with higher quality animations", and Ohmori claimed that they needed to remake the Pokémon models from scratch due to issues with importing them. As the games neared release, numerous leaks and eventual datamines showed that no, the models and animations of returning Pokémon, barring a few exceptions and several tweaks, were indeed reused from the 3DS games. The revelation would see #GameFreakLied trending on Twitter and create a PR nightmare that would've doomed any other game. Around the time of the game's release, a member of Game Freak posted a disclaimer online stating that they were indeed reusing the old models.

Even if it is true that Game Freak lied concerning the models, this example is too bashy and agenda-driven with phrases such as "PR nightmare that would've doomed any other game" showing it. This should be rewritten to be more neutral at the very least. Also, people have recently been spreading misinformation regarding Game Freak and the development of these games, such as someone faking an interview with a Game Freak employee, so we should keep watch none of it spreads to the Trivia or YMMV page.
