I wonder if we'll still have the post-credit stinger like the older show.
I hope so. I always loved that about Tiny Toon Adventures and Animaniacs. It felt cool to find it.
I just say "Les Miseranimals" for the first time. It was quite enjoyable.
3DS FC: 1719-3694-1541Speaking of Parental Bonus; I didn't get the Goodfellas reference in the "Goodfeathers" segments when I was a kid, so I was confused as to why they all started with "As far back as I can remember..." I was like "Why don't any of them take place now?" ^_^;;
I like to keep my audience riveted.Same for me, especially because the German dub of Animaniacs left "Goodfeathers" untranslated and thus It took years for me to realize that it was meant to reference "Goodfather" because I only knew that one under it's German name "Der Pate".
I was just old enough to know that the Goodfeathers were a broad parody of Mafia films, most obviously Goodfellas from the name (though obviously with generous helpings of The Godfather as well). That said, many of the particulars completely escaped me, like why Pesto had such a Hair-Trigger Temper (namely, because he's a pretty blatant riff on Tommy DeVito from Goodfellas, as played by Joe Pesci, of course). The Goodfeathers segments are way more entertaining as an adult.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.Wait, they left those specific segments untranslated? Why'd they do that? Were they subbed?
Anyway, I've been thinking. There should be a movie like Looney Tunes: Back in Action, but for Animaniacs. We don't often stop to think about it, but it's kind of like Bonkers in that it's supposed to take place in a world where toons are real, but since everyone is a cartoon, it doesn't really work as intended.
I've also been thinking that the reboot should open on a Where Are They Now segment. Like, after the show ended in '99, all the characters went their separate ways and now they're all washed-up cartoon stars working humiliating jobs before someone reunites them for the purpose of the reboot. I think they could make something really funny out of that.
Some of them are really obvious, like, Yakko now performs a tired rendition of 'Nations of the World' at children's birthday parties, except today's kids don't give a shit about Animaniacs or educational television, so he's struggling. And maybe he's rooming with some other forgotten relic of Warner Bros. animation, like Merlin the Magic Mouse.
And maybe Slappy works for something that is strongly implied to be a phone sex hotline (where, presumably, she disappoints). Rocko's Modern Life did something like that. Netflix could totally get away with it.
Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?I remember somebody saying that in that one part of Looney Tunes: Back in Action when the Water Tower fell on the Batmobile, it should have had the Warner Brothers and their sister Dot surfing out of it. XD
I like to keep my audience riveted.Nah, just the name "Goodfeathers" was untranslated everything else was translated even the songs.
What was the Schnitzelbank song like in German?
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."Basically they replace German with Bavarian which makes the first line "Today we are in Bavaria to learn a foreign language" hilarious because Germans like to make fun of Bavarians for their dialect.

X5 I can imagine the scene going like this.
The explicit reference to hand-drawn animation feels too on-the-nose for the show, but the rest does sound like something they would do.
I wonder if the revival will introduce any new characters or stick to the old.
Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?This is a neat little video. Most people don't realize the "Monkey Song" was adapted from a somewhat obscure song by Harry Belafonte. The person did had to cut out a few parts, but it's amazing how similar they are.

Okay, so apparently Animaniacs is getting at least 2-season reboot on Hulu. One wonders if it'll just pick up like nothing happened, of if they'll have it that they were locked in their water tower for the last 20 years.
Welp, looks like it's time for Aaaanimaaaaniacs again, then, and I'm pretty excited about that. Can't wait to see how this goes! (Hopefully they don't screw it up.)
Shame I don't have Hulu at the moment though.
"I shall not be foolish again, my dear Gwendolyn!"This will most likely come to no good end, but if they get some of the old staff back the prospects will be more optimistic.
Then again, all the original voices are still alive and still out there. (Even Bernadette Peters.) So I'd be surprised if they didn't get the voices back.
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast.""The Animaniacs reboot is happening and is getting 2 seasons right off the bat..."
Yay!
"...on Hulu!"
DANG IT!
Of all the times for me and my family to be fierce Netflix loyalists...(who also have Amazon Prime solely because we have an Amazon account)

EDIT: Eh, then again, 2020 is a long ways to go. I wonder if we'll hear anything either on this year's San Diego Comic-Con or on 2019's SDCC.

I don't know if I want to see Animaniacs get a reboot. It would be hard to replicate the humor the series had and I don't know if the original creators would be coming back to do the show. If they are, then I might be more optimistic about this show.
I love animation, TV, movies, YOU NAME IT!This is coming at a worrisome time when Disney is trying to edge into Hulu's assets, and with Animaniacs being a Warner Bros property, this puzzles me all the more. 2020 is a long way off right now. Anything could happen to Hulu by then.
I'm actually curious about that myself. If Disney owns Hulu, then why would they want to put Animaniacs, which is a property of Warner Bros. through Hulu? Maybe they couldn't cut a deal with Netflix? Who knows what happened there.
I love animation, TV, movies, YOU NAME IT!Turner owns a share of Hulu (granted, 10% of it to Disney's now 60%), which also explains why Cartoon Network programming suddenly departed from Netflix and unto Hulu with a heavy push.
It's also not uncommon for companies to air programming on rivaling channels, especially when both companies can benefit from its success. Remember, USA-wise, Animaniacs's original run used to air on FOX Kids before finishing up on Kids WB.
Just a friendly reminder that this is straying pretty far from discussing Animaniacs.
On that note, I'm personally hoping that little candle flame doesn't make a comeback. That was classic "go get a snack; you're not missing much" time as a kid.
