Oh, unrelated, but in the chat I had the idea for a Dark-type drain move to complete the quartet with Dream Eater, Drain Punch, and Soul Bite (since Oblivion Wing is Flying, rather than Dark, and is furthermore Yveltal's signature.)
Grim Pressure - Dark-type - Status
With a sickening pulse of energy, the user siphons the willpower from its opponent. The target's Special Attack is lowered, and the user restores HP based on the target's effective Special Attack stat before being lowered.
Functionally, it's a Strength Sap clone that targets a different stat. Movepool-wise, I imagine any Pokemon that (a) knows both Dark-type moves and a draining move, or (b) has Pokedex flavor text pertaining to supernaturally affecting another creature's emotions (e.g. Impidimp, probably a bunch of Ghost-types, etc). Thoughts?
(also retroactively it's totally what Carmilla was doing in the fight against her ;P)

Backstory: Emilie is a sweet and loving girl who loves all Pokémon. From a very young age, she wanted to be a ballerina. Her parents enrolled her in classes at the age of 6 and she had been practicing every day, hoping to be a star. One day, when wandering through the woods, she encountered a Pawniard. Instead of jumping back in fear, she introduced herself to Pawniard and the two began dancing together. After ballet classes, Emilie would sneak off into the forest to dance with Pawniard, even learning some of the more advanced ballet moves, despite the language barrier that exists between them. Before she turned ten, she introduced Pawniard to her parents and told them that they had been friends for quite some time and that when she was older, she wanted to go on a Pokémon Journey, which she did. At age 11, after a few battles with her Bisharp, she noticed how the movements in fencing are similar to movements in ballet and she wished to practice both, so she signed up for fencing lessons, in which she excelled and obtained her sabre. She then puts on one of her tutus, dons a mask, and becomes a fledgeling superheroine named "Belladonna".

Levy is a motherly, understanding and supportive Pokémon who wishes for Emilie to be the best ballerina and Pokémon Trainer she can be. However, when it's her turn in battle, she rarely holds back, often going by "Lævateinn" when performing especially powerful attacks such as Guillotine. She is a friendly and easy-going Pokémon around others and is willing to speak on Emilie's behalf at times.

Having originally been nicknamed "Growltiger", as a reference to a musical Emilie and her father both liked, who was a ball of fiery determination and pure recklessness, in comparison to Gus' cool, calm and collected demeanor. However, that doesn't mean Gus isn't inclined to making snarky comments at the drop of a hat. In his old age, his belt of flame is somewhat faded and his fur coat is rather shabby, but when he calls on the power he had in his prime, his belt shines with a brilliant flame and his fur coat is sleek and shimmering in the glow of his embers. As Axon is to Evelyn, Gus is a Pokémon whom Emilie looks to for guidance.

Leif is a skillful fighter, though not as skilled as Levy and/or Gus/Growltiger, but he's rather adept at strategizing and outspeeding opponents (despite having the lowest base Speed of all Emilie's Pokémon).

It's almost the holiday season. And you know what that means, children? It's time for another heartwarming Christmastime event.
JG/MasterJayAM and Pentigan present a Die Hard Christmas with a Vengeance
The Plot
Okay, so we start off in the Orochi Tower in Wyndon, an industrial modernist monument based heavily of the IRL Lloyd's Building
in London. The plot is simple, really. Terrorists take over the structure while a few trainers are touring the building. Ass kicking ensues as the trainers encounter various mooks, attempt to save the hostages, and deal with the challenges of battling somewhere a lot less ergonomic than Rose Tower.
Plots will thicken, but the trainers and their mons will still save the day.
The Background
The plot we have in mind is designed to be newbie friendly. We're opening up a maximum of eight slots, four of which are reserved for players who joined in 2020. The slots are locked until the 10th of December. That said, we also welcome cameos and people to play NPCs that need to be saved.

There sits a black screen, utterly dark, and then a familiar voice.

The scene changes to the sight of a fleet of orange spaceships zipping across.
~The Rebellion has risen, and suffice to say they aren’t the plucky underdog kind.~
The scene switches to an army of Psychic types saluting an Alakazam with a metal eye wearing a cape. Marching along a platform of sorts, before standing among a command bridge as various mons utilize computers and command consoles.
~We need help, the Galactic Federation is losing this civil war!~
Numerous large starships are being blasted apart, numerous escort vessels are firing, bridge crews are being overtaken by psychic moves.
~And because I am not allowed to get involved…~
The Screen fades, there sits a Beheyeem with a mustache, the camera pans over to a pensive looking individual with black hair. He opens his mouth and speaks in an even monotone, “I’ll see what I can do.”
The image changes to the sight of the Wing flying through the void, a blaster cannon firing as it faces off against a purple marked rocky pod like ship. It rolls as it narrowly avoids collision and turns around, firing off another blaster volley and destroying the Pod Ship. The Wing seems to slow as it flies around the debris.
Several pokemon lead by a Lucario wearing a poncho through some rocky tunnels, the area shaking. Scene shifts to a Magnezone looking out a window to an icy blue planet below, instruments blaring all around it.
A scene in an empty bar; the window overlooks a dry rock, a Hypno stands cleaning a glass while a Scizor holds a red balloon and wears medical gear, the two slowly turn towards the camera with placid smiles on their faces. The few patrons just idly drink their glasses as a crew of assembled pokemon enter the station.
A door is forced open, in walk bipedal individuals, one in heavy green armor, the other more dynamic with bright sun styled colour of armor and a flaming sword. The Golurks behind the door look on in shock at these strange beings before them, and stare even more as the Man in green releases a Metagross and a Golurk himself.
The scene rapidly changes, going from an Umbreon looking out over a map of spaceships, to the Alakazam in the cape crushing a holographic logo in his hand. A Unique Orange ship flies through a battle field rapidly destroying white battleships. A scene of a Mega-Lucario looking out over a setting sun. Large alien Ariadoses crawling through vents and halls of a station, and a Gigalith in regal gear beaming onto the Wing.
The screen goes black, before a single voice is heard.

Hello my fellow WAAPTERs, I have a new arc for all of you. WAAPTer Than Light I'm calling it. It's a Space Arc taking place in a Parallel Universe, a small team of the J-Team is sent through a portal and engages on a space adventure across several sectors of the galaxy, encountering things in a "Problem/Planet/Monster of the Week" style of adventure ala Star Trek or the style of Stargate SG-1.
The document has been plotted out and is ready, I have Pentigan joining me at the GM's table for the adventure, and thanks to the alternate universe setting we'll avoid complications of lore. About the only major warning I have is that as part of the Roguelike of FTL, and the fact that it is a civil war, the characters will in fact be technically engaging in lethal action during ship to ship. So if you wish to join, best bring characters prepared for that.
Other than that, the Adventure will start December 31st with a major post inciting the events into action. Hope to see you all then.
Malacostra, the Crustaceaous Queen of Crime

Appearance: Tall, athletic, almost statuesque young woman. Almost always wears form-flattering yet practical heavy armor that conceals her identity. Her armor is orange-red and is styled after both a kingler and a corphish.
Region of Origin: Unknown, accent suggest the Los Phiones metro area in Angela
Organizational Affiliation: Hunter's Guild
Malacostra is one of the guild's heavy hitters. She is Sphinx's most trusted elite henchwoman and acts as his lieutenant. She is also his daughter. Although Sphinx relies heavily on misdirection and low-level covert smuggling activities, his high-value targets require his direct intervention. In times where he cannot attend to this personally, he sends Malacostra. She ranks high even among her father's elites and has had a remarkably high rate of success. Although her father always hedges their bets, it's likely that his other schemes would fail before she does.
Her strategy involves disruption. Be it security detail or superhero, her main goal is to come in, guns and mons a-blazin', and entrap the defenders into a series of corners that they must struggle to get out of. As one obstacle is surmounted, two more take their place. This leaves her plenty of room to just walk in and take her target. She calls this technique "the krabby pot."
In the battlefield she comes off as strangely polite and sweet-sounding, even flirty to a degree. She has taken a fondess to superheroes and seems to enjoy trapping them a bit too much.
Her Team Malacostra's theme is crustaceans, and she commands a team of fully-evolved pokémon to her ends. In her roster are a kingler, crawdaunt, parasect, barbaracle, clawitzer, crabominable, and golisopod.

Appearance: Agnes wears her curly, dark green hair tied in a low ponytail with a navy blue beret. Her eyes are also green and her skin is terra-cotta brown. Her traveling clothes are an open blue vest over a white shirt with lime green accents and capris.

Region of origin: Alola
Backstory: Agnes grew up in Hau'oli City, Alola and mostly lived a quiet and uneventful life. As many do on Alola, Agnes attempted the island challenge when she was 13. She only managed to clear Melemele island's grand trial- but not because of a lack of skill. Something else had caught her attention. She'd heard plenty of stories of other regions from her other family members, about various things they did while traveling. She wanted to see how other regions handled trainers, namely their pokemon gyms. She could come back and finish the island challenge another time, right? One of her distant cousins was moving to Galar soon, too, and that region's league had a setup that was unique in its own way, but still similar to the others. After getting an endorsement from Kahuna Hala, she headed off to Galar with the Pokémon she had so far in tow. She's coming up on the Circhester gym next on her challenge, and hopefully things will keep looking up!

Personality/Bio: Another one of Agnes' Pokémon from Alola. She is often out of her ball during Gym challenges, even if she's not the one battling. The arena atmosphere and the roar of the crowd makes her want to dance.

Ability: Guts
Personality/Bio: Another one of Agnes' Pokémon from Alola. Kurt acts somewhat like an overprotective brother to his trainer. He's often one of the first to check on her to see if she's ok. He aims to be like an older brother of his in terms of strength.

Gender: Female
Ability: Gulp Missile
Personality/Bio: One of Agnes' Galar captures. A bit of a treasure hunter, Cameron is curious about interesting and beautiful objects. She's often used her species' skill at diving to collect (and thankfully not swallow) beautiful shells she finds in bodies of water.

Personality/Bio: Alphonse wound up on Agnes' team after challenging Ori to a dance off and losing. They're now rivals in that sense. He also sometimes joins Kurt, Rowen and Cameron in making music, banging pots and pans together with telekinesis.

Personality/Bio: A newer member of Agnes' team, who is still trying to adjust to her new party members and trainer. Seems to be on the shy side.
The Wanderer
I'm feeling like we should actually make an official decision on how the post-Hammerlocke Gym portion of the Galar League is supposed to go.
Having the ability to choose who you fight for the Champion bout like we did for Alola is simple enough, but the real issue is the inbetween portion since there's a whole tournament (Which serves as a spiritual Elite Four) as opposed to an official Elite Four.

Yeah I figured opponents for the pre-champion tournament would be up to player discretion, and matches would be skippable (as in the tournament happens in-canon but isn't actually written out) if need be.

So I'm guessing that basically what we do for Galar is:
- There's four battles you have to go through to get to the Champion.
- These slots can be just about anyone, from Gym Leaders, to those type-themed challengers, to even other PCs.
- This can be handled about as onscreen or offscreen as people wish.
Does this seem like a fair thing to do?
