( In the defense of the German hikkikomori, I do have to say that he was most likely kidding about the armageddon thingy.

And he might actually be Austrian?)

That's a slight quantity of win right there, too.

Also, not funny, talking about Austrians and basements.

As VB pointed out, I didn't come up with it, I quoted it. We live in a postmodern culture of intertextual references.

The troper tales thread. It starts here with a comment by C Trombley, continues for several posts before culminating in Bobby G's Seussical rant here.

I didn't write any of that.

How the posting of extremely long blocks of text got the Flip Out Room thread killed.

The link doesn't exist anymore. How convenient; I don't have to dig for it.

I think that was rather tragic. Even though I wasn't really an active participant in that thread, it was nice to have somewhere to be random and blow off steam, and I rather liked that we had a stickied thread for people to yell the f-word. I found the concept delightfully absurd.

Edit: And wow, thank you Meta! I'm flattered.

Well, I saw it as an absolutely meaningless thread, because most people were effectively doing postcount++ and using it as an excuse to f-carpet-bomb the page.

Oh well. Difference in opinion.

Now, on the other hand, the text paste bombs were rather funny due to their absurd length.
