- Genius Bonus: The "Mohican Master 2000" sketch really assumes that you have a great memory for the details of The Last of the Mohicans, making jokes out of Hawkeye's pronunciation of "Yan-Kee traders" and "KAAN-tuck-EEE."
- Hilarious in Hindsight: Michael Pheret the slimy agent tells Roseanne she shouldn't keep her show going until it's in the middle of the pack with Seinfeld.
- Memetic Badass: Bruce Springsteen.
- Retroactive Recognition: Besides being part of the writing staff, David Cross makes a brief appearance on camera, before his collaboration with Bob Odenkirk on Mr. Show (the writing partnership between Odenkirk and Cross began here).
- Too Good to Last: As Stiller himself quipped in promotional spots for the series' 1995 re-airing on Comedy Central, The Ben Stiller Show was considered a couple of years ahead of its timenote and so, despite positive critical reviews, it struggled to find an audience, leading the axe to fall after just twelve episodes (leaving a thirteenth unaired until the Comedy Central run).
