• One-Scene Wonder: Natalie Wood (Robert Wagner's then-wife) had two cameos in the series. One particularly stands out, where she's a woman in a bubble bath who doesn't reveal her face until the last moment. Her legs' moves in the bath distract Frank for a good while as he's talking to Pete. Censor Suds applied, of course.
• Retroactive Recognition:
  • Maggie Philbin, the receptionist of Macbride - Ryan Investigations, is played by Sharon Gless.
  • Jaclyn Smith appears in some of the first few episodes as Ali, a girl Pete knows who sometimes helps out him and Mac.
  • Julie Sommars guest stars in "The James Caan Con" as an actress and blackmailing victim.
