- Sequelitis: The PlayStation Portable was host to a number of decently-received Super Robot Wars games, including the popular Second Super Robot Wars Z duology. OE was the final Super Robot Wars installment to release on the handheld, and not only is it near-unanimously considered the worst of them, but more than a few consider it one of the weakest games in the entire franchise. Putting aside how some feel about the radial-based movement and targeting systems, the massive number of sub-missions in OE lead to absolutely glacial pacing and copious amounts of Arc Fatigue, combined with further time-wasting Scrappy Mechanics such as penalties for being significantly under-leveled which forces Level Grinding to get around. It's telling that OE was delisted extremely quickly even by Super Robot Wars standards.
- They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: Many people feel that Zoids: New Century had the single worst series debut ever in a Super Robot Wars game. The reasons for this are that players don't even get to control the New Century protagonist, but rather two supporting characters, both of whom use the same music as the Zoids: Chaotic Century units.
- Unexpected Character: Sgt. Frog is the type of show nobody saw coming as a debut. While it's true that both the main character and the author are HUGE Gundam fans and that Mecha have appeared in Keroro before, Sgt. Frog is more of a Gag Series rather than one solely focused on Humongous Mecha. On the other hand, at least Keroro gets the chance to meet Amuro Ray.
