  • Crosses the Line Twice: In the "Starcraft Brood War in a nutshell", Kerrigan takes a selfie of her killing Fenix.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse: Many of the units seen throughout the series that are given some type of memorable persona end up with some sort of dedicated fanbase.
    • Zerglings in general due to how unbelievably cute the series has portrayed them.
    • Angry Bob Zealot, Derpfestor, and Troll Viper have been huge standouts in particular. Bob escaped death a few times to the pleasure of his fans, Derpfestor became the plot behind season 3, and Troll Viper was just fun to watch whenever it went about trolling other units.
    • There's just something about the design of Mustache Overseer that people enjoy whenever he appears.
  • Fan Nickname: Since he's indistinguishable from other zealots, "Bob" technically just refers to all featured zealots. Which doesn't really get in the way of things since only one Zealot appears in most episodes anyway.
    • The Infestor is affectionately known by fans as the "Derpfestor", owing to its characterization as an overgrown child and the enormous tongue constantly sticking out of its mouth.
    • "Patches" for the marine with his butt patched up.
    • In China, fans of the animation calls Carbot "Protoss hater"(P黑) due to making fun of protoss technologies and units. Bonus point that Carbot's perferred race is actually protoss.
  • Foe Yay Shipping: The Adept and Marauder tickling each other in "Colossal Mistake" caused viewers to start shipping the two very quickly
  • Genius Bonus: Even though the series can be enjoyed by anyone, some jokes will go over your head if you know nothing about StarCraft.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight:
    • In Season 3, Derpfestor creates a mind-controlled army with units from all three races which practically worships him, in order to fight back against the original three factions. Come Legacy of the Void, comparisons to Amon have run rampant. Bonus points for both of them using red as their faction color.
    • The designs of the Terran Marines are very similar to the crewmates from Among Us, and there's even the recurring Changelings who act very similar to the Impostors of the game (even having the same big toothy mouth that the Impostors do).
    • Probes flinging pieces of cheese at enemies is a reference to "cheesing", but it also looks hilariously similar to the "THROOOW THE CHEEEEESE!" skit from ASDF Movie.
  • It's Short, So It Sucks!: Some were disappointed that Season 4 (Brood War era) only lasted 9 episodes compared to the usual 25 episodes due to the creators wanting to move on to the Starcraft II Legacy Of The Void content.
  • The Scrappy:
    • The recurring season 2 Overlord gets a lot of hate for leaving the drone behind in the season finale.
    • The Protoss Executor, shown practically enslaving and abusing the Probes for his own financial gain.
  • Tear Jerker:
    • In the Season 3 finale, Patches laying a No-Holds-Barred Beatdown on Crackhead while being controlled by Derpfestor is surprisingly emotional, completely lacking the humor found in the rest of the series.
    • In the season 5 finale As Patches and Medic Girl fall from an orbital platform that had just blown up, she decides to heal him all the while she is slowly being burnt up through atmospheric reentry. To make things worse, Patches is attempting to do a Take My Hand! and crying, while scenes of their brief romance together play through the scene. It ends with them hitting the water below with him surviving the ordeal, while she falls lifelessly into the depths below. Thankfully, she survives in Season 6 and they are reunited.
    • In "My Life For Aiur", Bob the Angry Zealot refuses to ally with the Blue Terrans and Purple Zerg, leading the Protoss in a suicidal attempt to get revenge on his traitorous former Executor alone. While he gets very close, even fighting off an attempt by the Derpfestor to control him with sheer determined fury, he ultimately fails and ends up being shot to pieces by the massive Red horde, with the lights of his psi-blades slowly flickering out as he gasps his last words, "My... life... for... Aiur..."
    • In "GG no Re", Crackhead kites the entire Red force into a Nuclear strike. He flashes one last thumbs up to Patches as their Medivac escapes. Earlier in the episode, Medic Girl runs out of energy to heal the gun-toting Overseer, causing him to be shot down and overrun while telling her to escape, picking up a gun for a last stand to cover her.
    • With the Zerg being depicted as downright cute and cuddly, their frequent fate as cannon fodder may come off as this.
    • It's hard not to feel bad for Queens in the series, given that much of their motivation is to protect the smaller zerg like their children, and frequently and tragically failing to do so.
  • What Do You Mean, It's Not for Kids?: With it's colorful art style and the cute visuals, someone who never heard of it before could mistake it for a kids show and not a cute bloodbath.
