The Entire Cartoon Was a StealthHomage/StealthParody of the Starcraft Storyline

Each story arc had a similar feel to a part of the starcraft storyline:

-Seasons 1-3 resemble original starcraft (not Brood war): They introduce you to the world, start with random fighting between factions, start in a greenish/earthlike area, than go to volcanic in the second part (Aiur/desert admittedly doesn't match the pattern). The Derpfestor is defeated in a similar way as the overmind: the armies are very strong, but the other races find a weakness (dark templar energy/all the buildings dying) and exploit it, assisted by raiders (The reapers/Zeratul killing cerebrates).

-Season 4 is a short interlude, possibly having the Dark Archon as a smaller scale villain who comes back to save the day later as a similarity to the Brood War campaign. The easter egg in the first episode also acts like Duran hinting that something is coming.

-Season 5-7: Resembles all three parts of Starcraft 2 put together, with season 5 as wings, season 6 as swarm, and season 7 as void, roughly. Starts with a "factions fighting each other as usual" story, but with a clue in the middle of the first part that something bigger is coming (Zeratul's visions, Derpfestor appearing again). A lot more characters (Patches/crackhead/medic were more well established) with more interactions, a love story, weirder terrain, overall the story is more involved than just "factions fighting each other with a big enemy". The final season, like in LOTV, has a far more dangerous enemy (Amon, Returned Derpfestor with lots of money), using all the factions, with several people assisting in bringing it back (Executor, Adjutant). The endings are similar also: old units get brought back (Reavers/dragoons/others make a showing in both parts as campaign units/SC 1 time travel units), there's a last stand with a powerful device used (The nuke/the keystone), and a memorial for a main character who died while doing something vitally important for defeating the big enemy(Zeratul/Crackhead.)
