  • Awesome Music: If this soundtrack doesn't makes you a fan of Synthwave and Protector 101, then nothing will.
  • Broken Base: Disagreement has broken out between those who wish there was a Real-Time with Pause option available and the Syndicate veterans who would rather it stay true real-time. A later patch included a starting option to let players have combat stims that slowed time to a crawl just to address this issue.
  • Goddamned Bats: The Patrol Dogs. They force you out of your cover. They have little hits points and die easily however.
  • Demonic Spiders: Any Mooks can become a Demonic Spiders because of Level Scaling which give them lots of HP, armor and shields. They can always call for reinforcements. There still some specific ones:
    • Commanders. They are armed with a puny pistol, but can throw grenades and buff every guards around him.
    • Heavy Soldiers are Elite Mooks and use a ballistic mini-gun. The Eternal version have a laser mini-gun instead.
    • Improved Patrol Dogs are laced with explosives. The damage is huge and knock you down. On top of that, they move very quickly and have a layer of armor.
  • Most Wonderful Sound: The beep sound when just gain an extra skill point.
  • Obvious Beta:
    • The original release of the game was riddled with bugs. The multiplayer component was missing and was only added many months later. Agents will get stuck while riding elevators, enemies will behave incorrectly, performance issues and crashes were all too common. Subsequent patches has fixed many of these issues.
    • The most recent release, as of 2019, has bugged achievements: it's possible to get the "10 consecutive stealth kills" achievement in the middle of a huge firefight, for example.
  • Scrappy Mechanic: Whenever you enter a building, your cloak will automatically deactivate. If someone happened to see you enter, a welcome committee with guns will be waiting for you when you exit.
  • Spiritual Licensee: A number of players have noted that, in addition to its Syndicate roots, it also has a fair bit of Commandos influence.
