- Esoteric Happy Ending: Celinas' Teen Pregnancy storyline. The show romanticizes teen pregnancy and tries to paint it as an expression of True Love and freedom, but thinking objectively, Celinas' future seems very bleak: her wealthy family basically abandoned her once she told them the truth, she's hasn't finished her studies and has shown in the past to be needy and emotionally dependent. To say it will be hard for her is an understatement.
- Germans Love David Hasselhoff: The show was huge hit in Brazil, which even made their own version nearly a decade later.
- Hollywood Homely: Some male characters find Celina repulsive because she is fat. Although Celina is clearly fatter than her counterpart Felicitas in Rebelde Way, the actress Estefania Villarreal is still a beautiful woman.
