YMMV / Pink Panther: Hokus Pokus Pink

Go To

  • Funny Moments: When Echidna-possessed Violet interrupts the Periowinkle dinner party, she demands they bring "the most powerful man in the universe" to them (referring to Zeus). Mrs. Periowinkle thinks of someone else...
Mrs. Periowinkle: But how are we going to get Steven Spielberg around such short notice?"
    • When Echidna introduces herself, everyone at the party (including Pink) says hi back to her one at a time.
    • When talking to Violet's father at the beginning, he attempts to buy Pink for Violet to keep as a pet. Pink initially refuses, but when he offers $250,000 for him, Pink jokingly agrees to the offer and tells him he can pick him up at the end of the party.
    • During the dinner party, the Periowinkles serve PIDGEON as the main course, and if you click Saltina, she'll sneakily drop the bird into her purse rather than eat it. Later, when you need to get a perfume bottle to attract Zeus and a mirror to defeat the Gorgons and rifle through Saltina's purse for them, you can pull out the same pidgeon.
    • In this same moment, Saltina excuses her disposing of the pigeon by saying that she is "Watching her girlish figure." Clicking on Dr. Hemakeyounew will make his Frankenstein Monster wife faceplant into her dish... and make him remark that he is "watching her girlish figure".
    • When Pink is on Mount Olympus, he is given two nearly impossible tasks by Zeus as punishment for his part in Echidna possessing Violet, with the penalty for failure being death.
    Pink: But...but...
Poseidon: There are no "buts" on Mount Olympus!
Pink: Doesn't that make sitting uncomfortable?
  • Harsher in Hindsight: To help an ostrich catch up to his flock, Strangeblood drains the Dead Sea so he can get across. Nowadays, various governments, environmentalists, and local Jordanians are trying to save the Dead Sea from drying up.
  • Retroactive Recognition: A pre-Fall Out Boy Andy Hurley plays Flip Looseliver.
  • Heartwarming Moments: Strangeblood taking Nathan in as an apprentice, as well as brainwashing his parents into agreeing when they were originally going to put him through dental school whether he liked it or not.
  • Moment of Awesome: Whenever Strangeblood appears this is bound to happen: he terrifies Pink when he catches him sneaking around his house, briefly possesses Nathan to give Pink some valuable information, temporarily drains the Dead Sea, reattaches a shark's lost fins, manages to scare Poseidon who is a freaking god, successfully exorcises Echidna from Violet, and instantly brainwashes Nathan's parents so that the boy can become his apprentice! Strangeblood is such a powerful and talented sorcerer, it is no wonder Nathan idolizes him.
  • Quirky Work: The game's story is considerably more surreal and wacky than that of its predecessor, which already was pretty surreal and wacky.
  • Squick: "Well now there's something I want to see, an elderly woman sitting in the freezing cold, hacking off part of her disgusting yellow toenails. Warms the cockles of my heart."
    • Even worse? One of them is an inventory item. You use one as a boomerang to cut icicles to form stairs to the entrance to the Rat King's lair.
    • Chuki even mistakes it for a corn chip, seemingly with the intent of eating it, evidenced by her drooling.
    • When Pink gives Grandma Tunga the salt lick, she grabs it with her tongue. Pink even remarks how disgusting it is.
    • The sunbather in the Dead Sea is using its incredibly salty waters to heal some particularly nasty pustules, which is why he has a set of tweezers that Pink needs.
    • Pink also makes his disgust over the Indonesian shark finners very clear.
  • Unintentional Period Piece: The usage of VHS tapes in the game's first act, alongside the Barney reference, solidly date the game to the late 90's.
  • Woolseyism: Because Barney & Friends was never broadcasted in Russia (and is generally unknown there to this day), localization team for the Russian dub decided to replace all references to the show with those about Leopold the Cat. Considering that events of this segment take place in Siberia, it feels more natural for TV networks to broadcast a Russian show.
